One of a kind getaway!
My boyfriend spend a majority of our time out on the water fishing- so when I came across this rental I knew it would be perfect! It’s exactly as described and all the info that was provided before our check in day was very helpful. All in all it was one of the most memorable getaways we’ve been on and we’ll definitely be back to check out another houseboat. If you enjoy being outdoors, this is a must try!! Beautiful views and lots of fish to catch :)
Too cool. That was a first and will definitely want to do it again. Better than camping!
I was disappointed with the rental of this little house on the water. the photos on the website depict a bigger house, then it really is. Once you open the bed you can not walk inside the house.
no refrigerator, no A/C, too many bugs, i would not recommend this tiny house to no one because is is a tiny tiny tiny house...
Fun weekend on the water
We had a terrific time living on the cozy key lime for the weekend. It was a great experience to live in a tiny floating house! We loved sitting on the deck in the evening watching the dolphins and fish swim by as well as the phosphorescent jelly fish. The house is anchored in a quiet lake/cove which is accessible by a small boat provided. It really was fun to stay here. It is very much like camping though so if you aren’t in to roughing it a bit you might not care for it. We are enthusiastic outdoorsmen though and loved every minute of it. It was a bit difficult to prepare meals as There is only a grill with no cooking supplies other than a small open pot with two handles. An ice chest is provided to keep things cold and there is a limited supply of running water. We were there in early February so it wasn’t too hot and the big proof screen on the door let the cool breeze in while keeping mosquitoes out. We used the small boat to troll around the mangroves and got to fish a bit. This was a perfect place for adventure seekers to take a couple of days to unwind and relax.
The house is great, but the traffic noise can be a bit much.
It's pretty Spartan out there. Bring good food and drink, something great for the gas grill. There are definitely fish in there, so bring a pole and some shrimp or squid. Our host Kristy was awesome. Taking the dinghy back and forth to the marina makes it fun. We had to return on our last morning in driving rain though, so plan for that.
A fun way to enjoy the Keys in an unconventional way!
Think "Camping Trip" when you pack and it will be an amazing experience!
