Had a really nice time the cabin is really big and roomy has enough space and everything you need definitely would like to stay there again
It could use some work.
The property needs some maintenance. But it was just the right size and close to local attractions and shopping. The pool table is basically broken, the cue rolls and falls into the side pocket all by itself. We made up a new game to play and had a lot of fun with it. It would be such a nice place to stay with some work.

safe and comfortable stay
Large house with a couple of parking spots out front, and the instructions to get there were clear and precise. The place was everything we were expecting, price was reasonable, place was clean, lots of beds, futons; we slept comfortably. We had towels and bed linens for everyone and everything was clean.
Due to home construction next door to our rental property our experience was less than pleasurable.
We arrived at our rental on Saturday June 18, totally unaware that major home construction was scheduled for Monday through Friday of our Stay. The weekend started out enjoyable. Beginning Monday we were woken up daily at 6:30am to the sounds of hammering, sawing, power tools and even a cement truck. This became progressively louder as the day went on. Wednesday and Thursday where more tolerable.
Monday morning I texted Mike Allan the home owner, about 8:30am and informed him that we hadn’t expected construction next door and asked if this was going to continue for the rest of our stay. Mike returned my text later that day about 3:00pm. He texted me that he was having trouble finding the right people to determine what was going on. He asked me forward the name of the construction firm that was posted on the property which I did. I texted him Wednesday morning reminding him that I had not heard from him and that construction was still ongoing. I did not receive a follow up from Mike until Friday morning, the day of our departure. (In all fairness there appears to be a response on Wednesday but not reflected on my phone until Friday, but the damage had been done). While waiting for Mike’s response I was able to contact the City of South Lake Tahoe building permits department and found that permits had been filed and that construction had been ongoing since February. The construction supervisor confirmed that construction had been ongoing.
I thought Mike’s response slow and reflected a lack of concern. I don’t understand how Mike could be unaware of the construction next door when both the permits department and construction supervisor confirmed that construction began in February. Mike could have extended me the courtesy of a heads up. Twenty members of our family drove over 500 miles with high expectations to spend time together on Mr. Allan’s property. We had children with us and had to return to the property often. But because of noise and construction we had to close all the windows and keep the children indoors. We found it difficult to take full advantage of the advertised benefits.
A little communication and follow up would have gone a long way to make us feel like we mattered. I performed my due diligence and read previous reviews regarding the property and was convinced that we selected the right property and owner. But this experience has left us with a bitter taste toward the vacation rental experience. Never again!
unfortunately there was a construction next door on the fence on the other side of our house ,I had no prior knowledge of the repairs since I don't live in the house all year ,and since no one ever complaint prior to this guest so I had no idea ,I guess most people go to the beautiful Lake Tahoe , Don't hang around the house During the day
The other thing is that I did respond immediately after every text but he did not get it because of poor wireless coverage in the area where the house is
We always go the extra mile to take care of our guest needs and concerns ,the only time anyone EVER had a complaint it was about something beyond my control or ability to change like Neighbor's repairs during the day
Not a nice vacation at all
The bad experience started from day 1. I booked our vacation from 12/19~12/24. Two days later the owner called me back and said 12/24 has been booked (something is wrong with the computer system). When we got there, found that two of the showers could not be used because of leaking. The bed sheets have stains even though they have been washed. Roof leaking in the master bedroom. The leaking is the garage is ridiculous. very limited parking spaces in winter (garage could not park a mini-van, you are not allowed to park car besides the street because of snow cleaning). The refund is not returned until 3 weeks later after I called the owner. I booked this property because of its high rating. I am wondering how the previous guests got such good luck while I experienced a lot of bad things. Overall, the property needs major maintainance and it is not recommended. I gave a 2 star because the owner is nice enough to reply all my questions.
This group had the worst of luck ,any bad thing that can happen did happen to them ,add to that some animosity between the group themselves and the result is " Not a nice Vacation at all"
Looking at the bright side All leaks were taking care of right away ,
All of the bed sheets have been changed as well as the cleaning company
But as far as the parking situation , there is enough space for six cars only two small ones in the garage and four big cars/trucks in the driveway,and that is enough for most groups, we do mention that in the information so guest are not surprised
as for the refund we also mention in the information that it may take up to 3 weeks ,depending on method of payment and holidays,in this case it took little over 2 weeks because the Christmas Holiday and the Changes to the reservation but normally it takes an average of 10 days and i don't control that ,the booking company hold the deposit and then after checking out and everything is OK they release it back to guests
I know this house is not brand new ,while it has its own personality and Charm that can only come with time thing might break or stop working from time to time,which does not happen often ,since there are maintenance crew that inspect the house after each time the guest check out and look for thees minor problems,but for those other that do happen during guest stay
I always will go the extra mile to ensure the comfort of my guests,i will response to you problem right away and offer the best way to resolve it or repair it in a timely manner without causing the guest any added inconvenience
The house is 3500 sf 2 stories has a master bedroom with a full bath upstairs and 3 other bedrooms with a queen size bed in each room and one with 2 queen size beds down stairs there are 4 more rooms with a Queen size beds in 3 of them ,the 4th has futon and a pool table there is a futon in 3 of the 4 BR upstairs four sofas in the spacious living room hot tub in the private fenced backyard .large kitchen full stocked with utensils and dishes ,stove ,microwave freg. and coffee makers Large flat screen in living room, with 3 more TV s in the bedrooms Cable services provided Hot tub in fenced back yard WiFi is also provided the neighborhood is very quite and provide plenty of privacy and loaded with large trees and lots of snow
