A new 3 bedroom apartment, one of just 36 and only 300 metres from oceans edge in prestigious Lapta Pines Development, just 7 miles from the 16th century Harbour known as Kyrenia. Some say the meds best kept secret.OR the jewel of the med.

Flanked by the dramatic Besparmak mountain range, views of mainland Turkey and the dramatic local coastline and nestled in olive and lemon groves.

It is close to shops,hotels and many oceanside restaurants and cafe's. also within close proximity are old Turkish villages, old Lapta and Alsanjack.[very authentic and unspoiled.] get a haircut and shave for 15ytl [about £4.00][ men only ]

Various walks in most directions.Including the recently completed ocean path walkway ,[phase 1] which going westerly will drop you down into sadunya bay beach bar.[local haunt]

Natural unspoiled beaches just mins away, sardunya bay with its own down to earth bar and restaraunt ,Horseshoe bay with its own fishermans cottage about 15mins drive,he will serve you up catch of the day, but for those who would go up market there are 'Camelot' or 'Escape' and Sun-Set beaches have all water and beach facilities there is also a little secret quiet beach within 5 mins walk at the end of the road to the sempati hotel,. also a couple of water parks,closeby

Lapta in particular has many bars and restaurants that sit right on the waters edge. Come visit you will never be disappointed

those include Silver rocks . The Cabin . the Calamari .. all on the oceans edge and with the lira running at well over 4 to the £ its making all things an absolute bargain

Northern Cyprus - the jewel of the Med: Lefkosa [Nicosia] dating back to the 7th century, visit Ledra Palace, or take a stroll through the streets where you will be thrilled to find old farmers markets with amazing produce, particularly interesting is the Buyuk Han [the great inn] built in 1572 by the Otterman governor mustapha Pasha,,, traders and merchants would stay the night, drink wine and make merriment. Just around the corner is the mansion of dervish pasha built in the 19th century and bears the characteristics of the Turkish architecture of this period. Other places of interest in this city are the Venetian Column, Gamblers Inn and the Kyrenia gate.just recently in the centre they have just opened up the border crossing from north to south ,its a walkway which allows you to spend the day on the Greek side.its good to observe the cultural differences between the two zones, there is a noticeable difference also between the two cuisines...make sure you don't miss the very old central market [Turk side] its an eye opener

Kyrenia, a 14th Century non commercialized harbour: Dating back to Roman times, was eventually taken over by the Ottermans in 1571 without them firing a single shot. But enough of all the Nostalgia, the horseshoe shaped harbour which is filled with old and antique Turkish fishing boats is truly a delight .the low romantic lighting needs to be appreciated at dusk or night, it boasts scores of restaurants, bars cafe's most with outside waterfront dinning but go to the back streets and fined some real jewels. A deal cheaper and perhaps more interesting. Its really very safe in spite of the narrow darkly lit cobbled streets. be prepaid for the wailing of the Imrans from the several mosques which are located in the area calling the believers to prayer Also in the harbour is Kyrenia Castle built by the Byzantines in the 7th century to protect the city from Arab raiders. it has apparently remained intact for centuries but has also been enlarged & better fortified over the last few hundred years.. there are a couple of authentic turkish bars too.

Beaches and relaxation: Well, there is an area east of Kyrenia known as the Karpaz. Literally mile after mile of golden beaches, turtle breeding grounds actually. wild donkeysand hares ,also. Sea is sparkling aquamarine, and there are some incredibly basic hotels literally on the beach 'the oasis' for one that will cost about £15 per room per night. The owner cooks out on the patio under the stars, a real experience. Nearer the apartment area are some glorious beaches. Camelot, Escape the Sun Set beach club etc. Everything will be available at really affordable prices when it comes to wining and dining northern Cyprus is unsurpassed .how about 3 course including wine for about for under £20 per head [exchange rate permitting] there is a famous meze restaurant (cenap)which will serve you a 24 course meal for about £12 per head. Strong brandy sour cocktails will run you back about £3. North Cyprus is a really good deal ,it is NON EURO and less expensive than anywhere I have been recently, please come visit you wont be dissappointed.

Dont forget local vodka and brandy and gin . now running at 15 lira .. £4.00 !!!

only 36 apartments sited around a beautufull sparkling pool [with a safe kiddies section] and with spectacular views of a rather dramatic mountain range .. the pool is nestled in lawned gardens ,[very unusual in cyprus normally due to lack of rainfall ] it has its own water refinery .

if its natural ocean swimming you prefer . no problem as the sea is only just 300 metres away just below the now famous coastal walkway

What makes this apartment unique

each apartment has 2 patios ,one off of the kitchen the other off of a bedroom ..both have large private walled gardens with shrubs and fruit trees ,there are old turkish style BBQ's where you can prepare your dinner. whilst taking in the breathtaking views ..

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY the Patio has a westerley facing position one will partake in a beer or glass of wine chilled from your fridge and soak up the fabulous sunset .!

You may see a herd of goats pass by your window . but this is Northern cyprus .

Lapta Oceanside, is approx 8miles from the famous 14th century harbour of Kyrenia in the Turkish republic of northern Cyprus [trnc].

The closest airport is Ercan [pronounced erchan], direct flights from Stanstead, However one can fly into Larnaca in the south and travel across the Greek/Turkish border, cab between £50-£60.pick up from both airports can be arranged. Check on prices of BA and ,aegan,and all tour operators eg. monarch, easyjet Monarch Thomsons & Thomas Cooke Cobalt. etc etc

For the really adventurous, Turkish Airlines ,Pegasus.and Atlas jet, fly into Istanbul ,spend a night or two in totally amazing Istanbul [the most exciting city in world ] and continue on to erchan ,,only £30-£40.!! .

Lapta Oceanside is becoming a real tourist attraction with 5 star hotels, several casinos,and simply loads of restaurants and bars that literally sit right on the oceans edge. there are some very good spots like the haci-ali hotel with pool and bar over the ocean,The Cabin,Seapoint, ,Calamari,and a great Italian known as Veni Vici , most of the above night spots , sit over the waves too,

a lovely view can be enjoyed from The Hut but this is a lunch place and will close at 6pm all have excellent food and attractive prices. Also a recently built water park has just been completed 1km away. a walkway and bridge is now under construction , which will be a fabulous attraction along the coastline ..strolling and biking strongly recommended..Walking west in the late afternoon you watch a breathtaking sunset. and end up at the sardunya beach bar ... they have a private sandy beach in its own little bay..

Walking east will soon bring you to a 9 hole golf course and 3 grand hotels.

Within just 5 mins walk from the apartments there is a new bowls club , the only one in the whole of cyprus and very popular for breakfasts with the locals and a swift game ....The Olive Press .

Other Activities: windsurfing, water skiing, mountain quad biking, handgliding,horse riding and water parks

Golf: There are several golf courses i hear the other side of Kyrenia [about 45mins drive].

3] due to the recent price hike of electricity on the island it has become necessary to charge electricity costs back to the visitor , in winter spring or summer this is unlikely to exceed £10 per week , however in summer when air-conditioning is sometimes used . depending how low your remote control settings are . it could reach over £25.00 per week it is advisable to take a reading from the meter as you enter the property .it will only be charged at local electric company's rates . it is suggested that you put the temps on the remotes to be comfortable at between 22-24 degrees.

4] since this ad was posted a 400 channel 'nilesat' dish for the tv has been installed [about 17 channels are english speaking inc. bbc world,cnn, al jezeera euro news nikon news. and many movie channels etc



WI-FI HAS JUST BEEN INSTALLED in the apartments and those with tablets and smart phones can get online for free

  • Both bathrooms are fully tiled, [floors and walls] and are very well appointed indeed see above section. What can you say about bathrooms .??? oh ,each Loo has a bidet jet ,which might tickle your fancy ......nice and handy LOL.

Apartment is new.It is user friendly and of a very high standard. Kitchen is large and L shaped,and well equipped. Leading to large outside patio with stone Turkish has a pvt walled garden with fruit trees Views of the coast, mainland turkey, sunsets, and dramatic mountain range. Large communal pool well kept within a few yards. Separate children pool which can be easily seen from the apt. Only 300 m. away is the sea and a beautiful coastal walks.. Many beaches close by and 20/35 min drive will get you to stunning Kyrenia Harbour [the jewel of the Mediterranean]. Some impressive local spots are St. Hilarian castle and Belapais abbey. Further on from kyrenia is the totally dramatic drive along the 'karpaz' mile upon mile of unspoiled golden beaches with aquamarine ocean . a few basic hotels right over the ocean [oasis] typically old restored lodge some 250 years old with individual chalets very basic but clean and inviting,wifi now available insect screens are now in place

That apartment is easy to find with the directions James gives you

There were only 2 of us staying for the week so we had a bathroom each

The apartment is well furnished, clean, and close to the pool

It was very quiet as we were outside school holidays so I don't know what it would be like in summer holidays

It's quiet as down a road that is a dead end so not much traffic

Peaceful, relaxing....superb!!!

Wow....just wow! This apartment was all and more than we expected. It was spacious (there were 5 of us!!), superbly clean and fully equipped with everything that you would need.

The apartment complex comprises over 40 apartments so, having arrived in peak holiday time, we expected the centrally located pool to be busy most of the time. However, for the whole week our kids had almost sole use of the pool. The pool itself is superbly maintained with clean and safe water and surrounds.

We arrived late on the Friday night but James (the owner) had left us with clear and accurate instructions on how to get into the apartment. When we arrived there was a complete guide for us to read which told us all about the apartment and local places.

Early the next morning we were met by Mehmet, the site manager. What a fabulous guy he turned out to be - helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and available whenever you need him. He does a superb job in maintaining the site, making it LOOK beautiful as well as making sure everything ticks along.

And that's what we did - relax - for the whole week! Just what we needed as a family. The times that we didn't venture out were spent with the wife and I chilling around the apartment while the kids played in and around the pool....wonderful!

The complex lends itself to tranquillity as it is not overlooked by any large neighbouring hotels or tall apartment blocks as you may find in other resorts. Whilst I would recommend hiring a car during your stay to be able to take in the full benefits of the Island, there are beach and restaurant/bar facilities within easy walking distance.

This was our first visit to Northern Cyprus in over 10 years and so we were interested to see what had changed in that time and it is fair to say there was some trepidation about how "commercialised" the country had become in that time. Safe to say that we were not disappointed....of course some things had changed but the country remains welcoming, friendly, easy to find your way around and cheap!! If you're looking for restaurants I would recommend Silver Rocks nearby in Lapta, also The Punjab restaurant (especially on a Wednesday night) and for a scenic bite to eat during the day try The Hut in Lapta - Jess and Adem are so welcoming. The 16th century harbour is only 10km away and is well worth a visit by car or the hundreds of dolmus (bus) that run between Lapta and Kyrenia.

Would I recommend this property?...hell yes!! Well done James and Mehmet

Very nice appartment

We had a very nice stay in this appartment, which is situated on a lovely quiet complex. The appartment has everything you need and there is a manager on the complex which can help with anything you may need. The swimming pool is very clean and the grounds are well kept. Hopefully we will be back to stay again in the future!

Great holiday in Lapta

My parents stayed in this property for two weeks in late April. The property is as good as you would expect from the listing description. Five minutes away from the sea where you can take a pleasant stroll. There is a large garden surrounding the apartment blocks together with a well-kept swimming pool. Lovely patio, and positioned in a quiet location. The kitchen has everything you need, bathrooms and bedrooms are fine. An additional towel hanger or two would help. Overall, a relaxing holiday. Highly recommended for individuals of any age. Franco & Birgitta.

Nice apartment, great location

We stayed for 12 nights in August at this apartment. Have stayed at this complex before, so knew what to expect. The apartment was nice and comfortable. The terrace was a bit too open to sunshine in late afternoons, but it was the hottest time of year! The pool is wonderful and very good for toddlers and small children, as well as adults. It was never too busy in the pool. The grounds are very pleasant and have improved substantially since our last visit a few years ago. The nearby beach is a short stroll and ideal for morning or evening dip in the sea. It's not great for small children or to spend any length of time there, but plenty of good beaches nearby - car is essential though! Our favourite nearby beach was Golden Bay. If you are coming to that part of Cyprus for the first time, you need to do your research in advance - there is very little local information at the apartment and most of it well out of date anyway. The manager on site is very helpful though. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this property.

A nice peaceful apartment

We stayed for just under a week at this apartment and had a really relaxing time. The apartment has everything you need, with a great balcony and BBQ area overlooking the gardens and pool which are maintained to a really high standard and are very tranquil with a fantastic view of the mountains. The pool is very large and we often had it to ourselves.

The 3 rooms are very spacious and there is a well equipped kitchen. Breakfast on the balcony is a very relaxing place to start your day as the Sun rises behind the property giving the balcony and garden sunlight all through the day until the sun sets.

There a re a few bars nearby and we particularly enjoyed the coastal walk to the nearby beach bar along the newly finished coastal path. A great place for a drink if you don't fancy driving or getting a taxi. There is an even closer bay just 300 metres where lots of people go for an early morning dip- there's also some good snorkelling there! It is about 20 minutes drive to Kyrenia, St Hilarions Castle or Bellapaix Abbey. We took a drive out to the Karpaz one day too and though we were stopping along the way you can get all the way to Golden Beach in about 2 hours without stopping- the road is really good up until the last 10 km where it is more like an English country road.

There are supermarkets within 5 minutes as well as a smaller market within walking distance on the main road. All the information you should need is in the apartment already and James is really quick with responding to any enquiries you may have. His manager also lives on site although we didn't need him during our stay he was friendly and introduced himself after we had arrived.

All in all a great place and really good value, I'd recommend this apartment for a visit to North Cyprus!
