Surrounded by Indian Lake with beautiful views of water and wooded island. It is located in a beautiful wooded landscape that is a country setting. This is the perfect place to fish and boat with the fishing preserve just around the corner and the open water for boating only a few feet away. There is a covered area at dock and a long pier on the property for your convenience in docking your boat. The cottage has been remodeled and has all the newer amenities to make your stay comfortable and memorable. The yard is large with nice mature trees, an enclosed back porch, grill, picnic table, fire ring and of course the water's edge. There are water views both from the front and back since you are on an island with only 5 houses to the end.
* 2 Bedrooms with Queen size beds
* 1 Bedroom with Full size bed
* 1 Sofa/Bed with Full size bed
* 3 Couches in Living Room, 2 full size, 1 loveseat
There is a covered parking area and a gravel area next to the house and these areas can accommodate 2 cars easily.
The cottage has been recently remodeled with a new furnace and central air conditioning. A second full bath added in 2014.
*****Sorry but there is a strict NO pets allowed policy.
Enjoyed our week at the cottage. The cottage was just as pictured. Large catfish caught right off the dock. We had a small fishing boat but did just as good fishing right in the back yard! Great fire pit. Quiet area, met a few of the neighbors. Brought bikes, good biking on the Island.
We just returned from a long week/weekend at the lake with kids and grand kids. It was our second time renting this seriously cute lake house.
My son and his wife and family were able to join us again, they usually go to Michigan in the UP where his wife has a family cottage by Lake Superior. This was their second time visiting us for a part of our stay on Indian Lake. They joined us last fall for a weekend and this time for a 4 day weekend. This house is so warm and inviting it was just like being at a friends home. My daughter-in-law made the comment that she liked it better than one of the very expensive big lake houses, because there you are afraid to move around and deathly afraid to bring small children for fear of breaking something. There is no chance to relax in a place like that; where this house feels like home! The grand kids LOVED it and even though they didn't catch any fish they were thrilled when grandpa pulled 3 successive catfish out of the lake one evening and held them up for pictures, and they can only guess how big the one that got away was! The little fishing boat that we rented from Spend-A-Day marina was a hit also for putt putting around the lily pads and looking for new places to fish. Our young grand daughter loved fishing snail shells out of the lake and going to the beach to swim each day with her mom and dad and older brother. We all played games around the large kitchen table and watched the bird life flying around the small island that the cottage over looks. My grand daughter was in tears when it was time to leave. as she didn't want to go. We had to promise to rent the house again so that she and her family could visit us at the lake once again.
SUCH FUN, we can't wait to go back.
We rented this cute little lake cottage for a week at the end of September/beginning of October. The weather was perfect for our time away. The location of the cottage is super for a close, but not too close vacation experience. The Big lake is right there, but right across from the boat dock was undeveloped land so we could watch the ducks, heron, and geese come by. Our son, daughter-in-law and grand kids came up for the weekend and had a SUPER time. My 6 year old granddaughter already wants to know when we will be going back!!!
The house is from either the 1950's or 1960's with some important updates. There is a newer full bathroom off of one bedroom and the tile in both the main bathroom and kitchen have been updated. All of the bedrooms are a decent size with enough room for queen beds in two of them. The queen mattresses seem to be quite new. Very comfy! The living room was nice and big with two couches and a love seat. So there was plenty of space even with two families there for a couple of days. The kitchen had lots of space for cooking, but I would suggest an investment in some newer cookware, as what was there was a bit tired. The owners were very nice to work with also. Thanks for a lovely time away from home.
Loved this cottage! Very relaxing and loved being in the lagoon close to the mouth of the big lake. The kids had so much fun fishing and playing in the backyard. Meet one of the neighbor's who took us on a boat ride twice. Couldn't have asked for nicer neighbor's. Hoping to make this a family tradition and would love to come back to this cottage.
What a great little cottage! This place is so charming. We arrived to find a vintage cottage decorated in period accessories straight from our childhood. Three nicely furnished bedrooms (2 with queen size beds), a nice cozy living room with a view of the inlet, a spacious kitchen with a dishwasher and a charming little screened porch at the back complete with gas grill. The cottage is off the main lake down a short inlet and across from an uninhabited island full of birds. Large trees in the back yard with the water only a short walk from the back door. Nice little shelter at dockside lets you lean back and put up your feet in the shade. The dock is well cared for and there is even a fire pit near the water for those sunset campfires we love so much. Easy access to the main lake and a fabulous wildlife sanctuary just around the corner that we boated to several times during our stay. We heard rumors of eagles, but we didn't see any ourselves. We did see plenty of grey Herons, though.
The neighborhood is mostly permanent residents, and we were warmly greeted by several folks when we took our evening walks to a nearby bridge and boat launch. Plenty of attractions nearby by boat: Beaches, restaurants, a boat-up McDonalds in Russels Point, and a bizarre little restaurant called the Tiltin' Hilton you shouldn't miss. A grocery store is only about 10 minutes away. We had a wonderfully relaxing time and the rental rate was very reasonable. Highly recommended. A++

This is a very large lake that has regular fishing tournaments, many restaurants with pull up areas for boats, skiing areas along with many swimming and fishing spots. There is a very large preserve close to the cottage that is home to much wildlife, including eagles in the last 2 years. A great place to explore for turtles and birds. In the fall there are many duck hunting activities and with all the wooded area it is a beautiful place to enjoy the Ohio fall colors and stunning sunsets all year round.
Each holiday is celebrated with community actvities from spectacular fireworks on the 4th of July to the "Ring of Fire" over Labor Day weekend. Many more activities are throughout the year and even into the winter the ice skating and fishing are enjoyable. There are snowmobiles on the lake when the water freezes in addition to ice skating.
There are 2 towns close by and a new flea market to make shopping close and convenient and exploring the treasures of the lake. On the way around the lake stop at the go cart tracks for a spin and the arcade to play electronic games the whole family can enjoy.
A short distance drive to these additional activities: Ohio Caverns, Marmon Valley Farms with several activities(including horseback riding) and Mad River Moutain Skiing.
