This Nantahala Forest cabin boasts a breathtaking view of unadulterated nature (free of buildings, lights, or homes). Eleven acres behind the cottage have been donated to the Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust which will protect the land from development so this view remains pristine. The highlight of every day at Pritchard's Perch is lounging on the large back deck with a delicious beverage while watching the colorful sunset.
Stairs lead up from the ground to the main level of Pritchard's Perch which has a bedroom with a double size bed, a full bathroom, a well-equipped, eat-in kitchen, and a large open living space with cathedral ceilings, skylights and a wall of windows. The living space has a couch, a recliner, a few chairs and a dining table with four chairs. Also on the main level there is a large open deck, a large screened-in porch with a grill and an outdoor table and chairs for al-fresco dining, and a washer & dryer. Upstairs there is a bright bedroom with two twin beds, a loveseat and a half bathroom. Ceiling fans provide all the cooling needed at this beautiful elevation.

My husband and I stayed there for a few nights in October. The location is great right between Cashiers and Highlands. The cabin was very clean and taken care of. Everything you needed was there. The cabin was as pictured. The views from the porch were beautiful. Loved to watch the sunsets there. The owner was very helpful, she gave great directions, and ideas of things to do in the area. I hope to go back again.
My husband and I recently had a wonderful weekend at Pritchard's Perch. The view off of the back deck was incredible!! Each day we made sure to get back to the cabin in time to enjoy sunset with a glass of wine. In terms of recommendations for local places to visit and things to do - we loved Bucks Coffee in Highlands and Cornucopia Restaurant for lunch in Cashiers (the food was delicious and they had plenty of great vegetarian options). We also went on a really nice hike up to the watch tower at the top of Rabun Bald where there was a breathtaking 360 degree view of North Carolina and Georgia. We loved our long weekend at Pritchard's Perch and hope to get back again next year.
This cabin is a 15 minute drive from Highlands, 20 minute drive from Franklin, and 25 minute drive from Cashiers. Several waterfalls within a 30 minute drive. Many trails abound in this area. The closest trail is Yellow Mountain trail which is just a 5-7 minute drive on Buck Creek Road and access to the Appalachian Trail.
Highlands and Cashiers have great coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping opportunities.
There are grocery stores in Franklin and Highlands where you can purchase everything you need for delicious home-cooked meals while enjoying your stay in the mountains.
