Blue Ridge Lake Overlook is a 4 bedroom 3 and a half bath home overlooking beautiful Blue Ridge Lake and the surrounding mountains. Located just one lot away from the lake and a short walk to the lake access. You can also access the Aska trail system at the end of our road, also a short walk away.
The main level of the home has an inviting entrance leading to the family room with HDTV, cathedral ceiling, stone, wood burning fireplace and wall of windows to enjoy the view. There is a half bath for convenience. The dining room easily seats 8. The kitchen is well stocked with all of the essentials from spices to paper towels. The master suite is also on the main level with a full bath, and king bed.
The second story has 2 bedrooms, both with queen beds and beautiful views, large closets and a shared bath. The washer and dryer are also on this level. A catwalk overlooks the main living area. One of the bedrooms also has a bassinet.
The lower level has a second living room with a big screen TV. There is an additional bedroom with a twin bed and a double bed as well as a sitting area. There is also a game room with board games, puzzles, foosball, poker table, checkers/chess table as well as a basketball game. There is also a full bath on this level as well as a second deck with stunning views.
There is a wrap around deck for plenty of outdoor living space. There is a gas/charcoal combination grill on the rear deck as well as plenty of seating. A large screened porch provides shade in the warmer months, and has propane heaters for use in cooler weather.
We purchased this home fulfilling the life long dream of owning a mountain home. We come here as often as possible and have fallen in love with not only the mountains but the town of Blue Ridge. Our home is a labor of love that we enjoy using as well as sharing with our visitors.
Carrie Kitchin purchased this house in 2011
We love the lake view and the privacy within an easily accessible neighborhood. We often have extended family at the home at once so it is ideal to have three finished floors in which to spread out and give everyone privacy. We keep the home well stocked with all of the essentials so all you need is your toothbrush!
In addition to a lake view, our home also has lake access. You can easily rent a pontoon boat at the marina for the weekend and beach it at the lake front access point that is an easy walk from the cabin. There are also miles of hiking and biking trails easily accessible at the end of our street.
My family and I met here for a surprise birthday gift for our Dad, and it was the perfect getaway for all of us. The cabin was beautiful, clean, and very spacious. We enjoyed sitting on the deck with the amazing views of the mountain and lake around us. The owner, Carrie Kitchin, was wonderful to work with and very hospitable. We would all definitely stay here again!
What a lovely October weekend in Blue Ridge. Four siblings and their significant others getting together in a wonderful cabin in the mountains. The cabin was perfect for eight adults, plenty of bedrooms and outdoor deck space. Furnishings were nice and comfortable. The game room was a hit especially the air hockey table. The road in is a bit steep and curvey but easy even in our Kia soul. Still leaves on the trees so we had to peek for the lake view but what a view of the hunters moon. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, maybe a couple more coffee cups and some measuring spoons. We could have stayed longer but we all had jobs to get back to. Would stay again if the opportunity arises.
I thought the property was nice and enjoyed my stay there. I just needed an escape from the city for the weekend. It was last minute, and Carrie was very responsive and was able to provide me the details very quickly. Thanks for the great experience!
I stayed at this property with a group of friends. The cabin was really big and the surrounding was really beautiful. The cabin had everything we need (although I'd suggest a heater cause it got cold that night; but that's just us). In addition, the owner was very responsive and answered any questions/requests we had. Would definitely come back! We had a great experience.
Great place......was the most well stocked rental cabin I've ever stayed in. Very nicely maintained and comfortable for 4 adults and 4 kids. Relaxing area....would like to visit again sometime. Summer means not as great a lake view because of the leafy trees but still the setting is very peaceful. Enjoyed our stay.
We were in the area for a wedding and family reunion event. There were 6 adults and the cabin was perfect. It could of held so many more! We hung out on the patio, both screened in and open. The view was amazing. There was great hiking in the area to waterfalls and a swinging bridge. I would highly recommend this cabin.

There are an amazing variety and number of activities and attractions near the cabin in the Blue Ridge Area. Following is just a short sample but I encourage all interested parties to spend sometime exploring what the area has to offer.
Without getting in your car you can access Lake Blue Ridge and the Aska Trail System. The Tocoa River is a short drive away and great for a fun afternoon of floating in a tube or fly fishing.
Hiking galore, including the Appalachian and the Benton MacKaye trails
Fishing, boating, Jet Skiing, tubing, whitewater rafting--Lake Blue Ridge, Toccoa River, Ocoee River
Horseback riding, golf, mountain biking, gem and gold panning
Antiquing--Blue Ridge has been called the antique capital of GA, and Ellijay, with its charming roundabout (instead of the typical courthouse square), has its share, too, and is only a 30 minute drive from the cabin
Swan Drive-In Theater, one of the few remaining today, operating since 1955
Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, on which you can take a narrated ride from Blue Ridge to the twin cities of McKaysville GA and Copperhill TN and stand with one foot in GA and one in TN--marked with a big blue line painted through the IGA Grocery parking lot. Also look for special holiday rides for Easter and Christmas!
Apple businesses where you can view the process from orchard to grocery bag, tour the facilities, shop for apple-themed goods and goodies, and try one of the area's delights: the fried pie! Ellijay is known as the apple capital of GA
Hunting for deer, turkey and other wildlfe is permitted at the nearby WMA
Wonderful local restaurants--just a few: the Toccoa Riverside, where on weekend nights a duet of two elderly, overall-clad bluegrass pickers entertain; the Pink Pig in Cherry Log, President Jimmy Carter's favorite BBQ joint; Colonel Poole's BBQ in Ellijay, where the hillside is decorated with a giant outline of a pig compiled of hundreds of plywood pigs naming past patrons (some celebrities)
Festivals throughout the year: for example, Apple Festival, Sorghum Festival, Prater's Mill Festival, GA Mountain Fair (demonstrations of old-timey mountain practices), Rhododendron Festival, Bluegrass Festival, Dahlonega's Gold Rush Days
Numerous state parks, national parks, and national forests, each with its own amenities, activities, and gorgeous scenery
Marked scenic drives/highways, almost all with scenic pull-overs and overlooks, especially important during our gorgeous autumn leaf season
Countless waterfalls, one of which (Amicalola) is the tallest cascading falls east of the Mississippi; in the cabin are pamphlets with descriptions and directions to 11 falls in the area--all of which we've hiked to--only a couple are strenous treks
A short drive from the cabin is the longest suspension bridge east of the Mississippi, a very short and easy hike brings you to where it crosses the Toccoa River
A little further away is Tallulah Falls and Gorge, the deepest gorge east of the Mississippi.
Many other sights are within a short drive, such as Brasstown Bald, the highest point in GA, Dahlonega's Gold Museum, and the Alpine town of Helen, Amicalola Falls State Park, Ocoee Whitewater Area, Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, Cooper Creek Recreation Area, Cohutta Wilderness, Dahlonega, Vogel State Park, Unicoi State Park, Big Frog Wildelife Area, Nantahala National Forest and Whitewater Area, Fort Mountain, Chattanooga, Helen, Great Smoky Mountains National Park
