What a wonderful home with stunning, expansive view of the lake. Cannot say enough good things about this property. My husband and I loved being here. The weather was stormy and a bit chilly our first day which made for an incredible show as we watched it pass over the lake (and us) from the deck overlooking the beach. Evening clouds and sunset was fantastic. Next day weather was sunny but cool and had a pleasant walk a mile down the beach to the channel where the water was much warmer. Had fun cooking in the well appointed kitchen and watching the ships go by through the wall of windows. The family has thought of everything you need to cook for 2 people or a large group. We forgot a couple things and drove back to the little store as you first come in just a short drive from the house. Vickie was very helpful and responsive. House is comfortable and there are 2 different seating areas perfect for large groups with a spot for everyone. Coffee on the main deck and overlooking the beach was so relaxing. Beach area is shallow and sandy. No rocks. Enjoyed watching the 2nd night sunset with wine on the beach. Stairs are very easy walk down to the beach. If you have anyone who uses a wheelchair there are only 2 steps from driveway sidewalk to the side deck that goes all the way around to the lake side of the home. Easy access to sliding glass doors to the kitchen. Views are great from that part of the deck too from under the extended roof. Large bathroom would accommodate a wheelchair. We did not try hiking the sand dunes behind the house but will next time. And, I'm sure it's a matter of taste, but we found the main bedroom queen bed to be on the far side of needing replacement--a little on the hard side. We moved to the bedroom next to it for a better nights rest. We will definitely come back here. Such a wonderful place to be!
Ahhh...such a stunning location! There are so many places to perch and enjoy the views of the Lake. We saw otters in the am, ships in the afternoon and an eagle at sunset. The water was delightful and our beach walks led us to the Stony Lake & Camp Minnewanka. The home is lovely and comfy -- it's clearly a place for families and friends to celebrate the beauty of Michigan. The dunes behind the home are a challenging hike but the views of lake and forest are highly rewarding!
The cottage is very homey and comfortable. The outside decks were wonderful for visiting with family, reading books, taking naps and eating all of our meals outdoors. The view of the lake is beautiful and the sunsets were always breath taking. A real bonus are the sand dunes directly behind the cottage - good for exploring, taking in the panorama from the top and racing down in the soft sand. This is my favorite vacation spot of all the places I have visited.
The cottage is a WONDERFUL place to stay, beautiful inside & out, clean & well maintained! We loved watching the sunsets & paddle boarding in the mornings! Loved going for walks on the beach & walking down to the channel! Fun watching boats & large freighters passing by! Golf near by, and fun shops/resturants in Pentwater. Also, enjoyed wine tasting near by, there is lots to do, but mostly enjoyed doing nothing, but laying on the beach or sitting on the large beautiful deck overlooking the big lake!
The owner was very pleasant and easy to work with, and the cottage manager Pat was very friendly! Overall, we had a wonderful time! Definitly plan to be back to enjoy the cottage!!! Thanks!
A perfect place for a long week end getaway with old classmates from school. A beautiful beach home right on the lake. Plenty of room for all to relax and enjoy each others company. Wonderful roomy kitchen for home-cooked meals. Love the deck and the view, even on a rainy weekend in September. Very close to beautiful golf courses and only an hour from the Grand Rapids airport for company from Naples, FL. Can't wait to come back again next September! Been to many other locations for reunions and this topped them all.
Wonderful stay with a few of my friends and my mother for a girls getaway weekend. Even though it was not yet summer, the weather was beautiful and the walks on the beach fantastic. I have traveled the world and still think the beaches of Lake Michigan are the best.
The place felt like home, warm and inviting with all the special touches for a comfortable stay. Very clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend this property for a romantic getaway, a girls getaway, families with children or adventure seekers. Lots to see and do around the area. A beautiful place to relax and get away from it all or do it all.
Great antiquing, wine tasting, biking, kayaking, etc. in the area. Good restaurants too!
