|Minimum Stay||2 - 7 nights|
This is a beautifully renovated 1900's cottage.
Located in the central part of the island, making it a more peaceful spot for some rest and relaxation, yet is only a 3 minute walk to the water and ten minute walk to the ferry. Ferries run approx. every hour and is a short 15 minute ride into beautiful Portland. Known as a "foodie" city, Portland has an amazing array of restaurants within walking distance of the ferry terminal. The island offers three restaurants and a daytime cafe as well as an ice cream shop.
Enjoy the tranquility and wild life that surrounds the cottage.
The house is a one bedroom with a queen sized bed upstairs as well as a single pull out love seat making the bedroom perfect for a couple and small child. Downstairs sofa is also a queen sized pull out sleeper.
Enjoy relaxing on the front porch or upper deck off of the upstairs bedroom.
There is also a new screen house out back for insect-free outdoor dining.
Perfect for a writers get-a-way!

We love to fix up older homes as well as to entertain. Here we put the two together to offer a peaceful vacation home on a little island off of Portland Maine.
Kate O'Connor purchased this cottage in 2011
My daughter was married on Peaks Island, and we needed to find a place to stay. A great many family members, from both sides, traveled to Peaks for the wedding, most finding places near the pier (ferry). How lucky we were to find this property.
The moment we opened the door, we felt like someone special had handed us a key to their private, cozy house in the woods. Surrounded by trees, with its wonderful old wooden porch, this house was inviting. The living room boasted a couch (pull-out), a wall television (only a few stations; more than enough for us), bookcase filled with books, chairs, coffee table with magazines, board games, puzzles, metal detectors, I could go on.....There is a cozy fireplace, easy to light, and provides more than enough heat if needed. The dining room included a table w/chairs, a chest of drawers (with kitchen towels and other items you might need) and the stairs going up to the loft. The colors were bright, the wood floor polished, and the lighting fixtures reminding you, this is on an island. The kitchen, fully furnished (no microwave, but who needs it) with a gas stove, had everything we needed. There is a small bathroom, complete with shower off the kitchen. Upstairs, again, that warm feeling and wonderfully decorated was the queen bed, large chest of drawers, another pullout couch, and chair. We slept soundly and comfortably. We didn't use the outside area, (bikes included), as we were busy with the wedding, but we felt like home returning to our little house in the woods.
I want to make mention of the Internet. We stayed at a hotel in Portland prior to coming across to the island, and it was awful; kicking us off randomly. The Internet at this property, The Snuggle Inn, was stellar!
I would not hesitate to refer others to stay here. In fact, many family members came out to see where we were staying and were pleasantly surprised. This property is exactly how it is described. The owner anticipates your needs, and provides you with sheets and towels, as well as other items. You are minutes away from the ocean, minutes away from the town center, and hours away from noise and distractions! We loved it. It's name, "Snuggle Inn" is appropriate. The owner was quick to respond from the moment we contacted her to rent this property. The little vase of wild flowers was a warm welcome. Thank You!!!!
We had a great time staying at "The Snuggle Inn" (cottage) on Peaks Island. Kate made the booking process very easy and was very helpful in terms of supplying information about the island. The cottage itself was charming in every aspect: comfortable, quiet, and above all - clean and well organized. We cooked most of our meals on the BBQ and roasted marshmallows over the fire pit. We utilized the outdoor seating area, where we spent most of our time. We used the peddle bikes to get around the island and went on a number of hikes. We will definitely be returning to the Snuggle Inn next time we're in town!
The Snuggle Inn was a perfect cottage for our get away on Peaks Island. It is so charming! Kate was a great hostess, promptly answering questions & making sure every thing was ready for our arrival.
This cottage was the PERFECT place for my family and me to escape the busyness of our lives and focus on the important things like s'mores, tide pools, sandcastles, and bike rides along the coast line. The cottage was beautiful, clean, and well kept. Everything we could possible need was provided, and the owner is the definition of hospitable! I highly recommend the Snuggle Inn!
This cottage, in the wooded center of Peak's Island, is the perfect getaway for one or two people. Though tiny, it offers everything vacationers need. It is but a short walk to the ocean. It is quiet: beyond the twitters of little birds and the occasional horse rider, there is only the sway of tall trees in a breeze. The porches invite the weary to let all woes go. I cannot say enough about The Snuggle Inn. It is clean, well maintained, and exerts a proud and mighty stamp on the quietest part of the island. I hope to make it an annual event to visit The Snuggle Inn.
This property was so perfect...adorable, comfortable, private but still close to everything. We usually stay at family cottage when we go to Peaks but this trip was for a huge family wedding. It was unanimous by all family and friends that our accommodations were the best!! Told the family to give us plenty of notice on the next Peaks wedding so we can book this cottage again!! Could not have asked for more and wouldn't change a thing!! SIMPLY PERFECT!
