  • 4 of 5

Holidays in the castle garden

  • 5 of 5

We have lived one week in the fantastic summer cottage of the castle Dur-Ecu. It was so nice that we would have remained with pleasure still a next week. The castle arrangement with her old walls, funny pileworks and wonderful garden is a dream. The equipment of the summer cottage feels well, everything exists, is simple and moulder furnished. From the window you can see directly on the sea. What does one want more? The hosts have and conceive very friendly and have dismissed. Every day we have explored the closer surroundings. Besides, we have bumped into dreamlike sceneries. The worth seeing also lies nearby. One must be ready to spend some kilometres in the car. We have made day trips to Caen, Bayeux (the carpet of Bayeux), Mont St. Michel, Granville, Camenbert. A great week. We want to come again anyway! Thank you again to the hosts!

Nice location in beatiful normandie

  • 4 of 5

We stayer for 1 week in november and had a great time. The gite is okay and staying in a traditional house makes it extra nice. The environment is perfect with very beautilful villages en sea shore. The sunset was unforgettable.

So, wie ich es mir vorgestellt hatte....

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Car: recommended

We are in an ideal place for long walks and beach stays.

For city lovers, CHERBOURG is only 8 miles away offering colourful farmers markets, harbour side cafés and brasseries for local catch, night clubs and casino. The port is the main destination for yachtsmen sailing from England and going onto the Channel Islands. Walk in the medieval streets and find cute boutiques. A couple of excellent restaurants and plenty of brasseries, for simple, satisfying meals. A great choice of bars. And a McDonald.

The ill fated Titanic made her first and last call at the Gare Maritime, at that time a luxury terminal for transatlantic liners . Now it houses a superb center dedicated to the underwater world complete with a best stocked aquarium and a huge, recently decommissioned nuclear submarine (without the nukes) that one can visit. On the practical side, a few gigantic hypermarches offer excellent value and choice. The nearest one is 5 mins driving.

Excellent sailing club and school in 5min drive away.
