About Bart Webb
Bart and Billy grew up on the beaches of the east coast but moved to Chicago 20 years ago. We have always missed the laid back vibe of the old East coast beach towns and when we discovered Saugatuck we felt we had found a place to reconnect to our roots and moved here year round.
Bart Webb purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Bart Webb chose Saugatuck
Vivian is a 120 year old, newly renovated cottage that is adjacent to an old orchard and is set back from the road in a meadow with a back porch that overlooks a wooded preserve.
What makes this Cottage unique
It is the last property on the north end of town, yet still feels part of the town of Saugatuck while offering privacy. While the main house is next door, we have designed the property for complete privacy,

Wonderful time in a cozy cottage in a secluded setting yet so close to downtown. Bart and Bill are great hosts. Definitely would look to stay here again
The bathroom had several windows with no curtains or blinds. There was a door in the bedroom to the outside which also had no window coverings. The floors were not clean and the screened in porch was not either. The steps into the cottage were narrow and not safe and the outside area was not groomed or clean. When I took the key back to tell the owner we couldn't stay under those conditions, he said O.K. but after I called VRBO the owner sent an email saying the window coverings were in the dresser. I emailed him back that the instructions at the very least should have been posted. Also, the smell from damp wood furniture would prevent anyone from using any of the dressers. No one offered any of this information when (in person) I told him why we couldn't stay. Stay away from this cottage.
As our numerous 5 star reviews show we really try to deliver a positive experience for our wonderful guests. We regret that this didn't happen for you.

The perfect little cottage and two awesome hosts
My husband and I booked a last-minute-ish trip to Saugatuck to meet some friends staying nearby. With two kids under three and two adults, we were a little concerned about maxing our the space, but it ended up being the perfect little cozy cottage for our weekend in MI. Both hosts were incredibly welcoming and accommodating and greeted us with a glass of wine and suggestions on where to go to make the most of our experience. We took them up on most of their reccommendations and were very happy we did. The cottage was just far enough away from the main house to feel private but close enough that it made it easier to reach the hosts when we accidentally locked ourselves out and had an overnight Amazon package delivered with stuff we forgot. The cottage is also perfectly located to enjoy a bike ride down to the ice cream place or into town and our new favorite local restaurant (The Southern) was super close by. We could not be happier with our stay and to our hosts for their hospitality. Can’t wait to come back and happy birthday, Bart!
