GREAT for 1 or 2 couples--this tastefully decorated cottage is built of imported Canadian cedar and is comfortable and cozy in any season. The peaceful location is ideal, as the property located directly behind is Deschutes County Wilderness. As a result you may well experience the local wildlife--deer, elk, grouse, etc--wandering through at their leisure! Also, the Big Deschutes river is a short walk (300 yds) behind the house and to the left.
The real river-rock fireplace and vaulted cedar-lined ceilings give the cottage a distinct 'mountain home' feel. With one master suite upstairs and one down, it is the perfect getaway for those who desire to relax in peaceful surroundings with the extra spaciousness that 1,800 sq ft offers. For those with the need do a bit of work while on vacation, dedicated work space and WiFi is provided, along with a printer/copier/scanner.
We are big fans of Central Oregon and all that it has to offer, including four distinct seasons and 300+ days of sunshine a year!
The Owner purchased this cottage in 2006
Snow Goose Cottage was the perfect place for us to take a much-needed vacation. Although there are many things to see and do nearby, we chose to spend the majority of our time enjoying the cottage's large movie, music and book library and relaxing in front of the fireplace. There's a nice little mile or so nature trail out back that runs near the Deschutes River, that we enjoyed with our dog. The home is in a quiet and peaceful location, was very clean, nicely furnished, colorfully decorated, and very cozy and comfortable. It was well stocked with everything we could possibly need. Beds were comfy, rain showers and claw foot tub were nice. I liked having the dedicated office space; I had a bit of paperwork to do, and I relegated my work to only the cozy office area. The owners were great in their communication before and after our stay, providing all the information we needed for a wonderful stay. We would highly recommend Snow Goose Cottage to others.
Our family of two adult couples thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay at Snow Goose Cottage. This comfortable, clean and well-appointed home provided an ideal opportunity to experience a white Christmas. Each room, from kitchen to bathrooms, was fully equipped. The beds were comfortable. A working fireplace and plenty of DVD's made nights cozy. Proximity to Mt. Bachelor for skiing and Bend for restaurants gave us plenty of fun excursions to enjoy. We plan to return!
Very well equipped home, very clean, everything you need in the kitchen and more. Every morning we walked our dog through the forest behind the house to the river, beautiful! The location was good, too, with Sunriver only a short drive away, and with all the interesting things the area has to offer we could have stayed longer. Great place to stay! We would definitely come back here.
