Do you need a break from the fast paced lifestyle? If so, sounds like you need to take a trip to Corey Cabin! Tucked away on 2 private acres you will find an immaculate, 3 bedrooms, 2 full bath cabin that is filled with character and comfort in every room. It will feel like love at first sight as it invites you to unwind and entertain family and friends with many different features that await you. Corey Cabin is located just minutes from Ohiopyle and many Historical landmarks such as Fort Neccesity, 2 architectural masterpieces of the 20th century by America's most famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Right down at the foot of the mountain you will find The Historic Town of Uniontown Pa founded in 1776. Much history lies in Southwestern Pa. Come to Corey Cabin and explore a world you never knew was out there!
Our family and friends had such a wonderful time here. We had a total of 6 adults and 4 kids and our family dog and there was plenty of space. The hot tub was sparkling clean and we spent a lot of time in there (especially during the snow...it was beautiful). It snowed several inches during our stay which made it even more perfect. The place was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped. The fire was so cozy. The owners were very courteous. I would definitely recommend a get away at Corey Cabin. We didn't want to leave!
This property is not as advertised. In addition to that the property manager was not helpful at all. They didn't return our phone calls for several weeks (over 1 month) after our stay.
1- House had a very nice kitchen.
2- Beds were very comfortable.
3- Excellent location
1- No propane gas for grill. Owner had 1 tank and expected the renter to fill it as needed. However, this wasn't communicated to us till they contacted us, several weeks after our stay, in response to our issues.
2- Hot tub was out of service and looked like that was a blessing in disguise. There was zero notification that the hot tub was out of order. We found out several weeks after our stay when they finally returned our calls that an electrical storm destroyed the motors. I understand things happen, but a heads up would be nice. I assume the owners or property manager is on site between renters so they should be on top of all issues. Plus the overall condition of the hot tub was extremely poor and dilapidated.
3- The gas grill was rusted out. All the internals were extremely rusted. If we had propane we wouldn't have used the grill as we didn't want rust in our food. Covering the grills with foil wouldn't have solved the entire problem. The owner contacted us several weeks after our stay and said they were correcting this issue. I give them credit if this is true.
4- House had a stale cigarette smoke odor. When the owner returned our calls several weeks after our stay they told us the smell was from the wood burning fire place. Not sure I agree.
Use this information as you will in making a decision on where to stay. I hope this is helpful. It's a shame the property wasn't in better condition. It truly has great potential in a great area.
I am not much of a camper, so when I saw photos of where we'd (a group of young males & females) would be staying for the weekend; I was ecstatic! As we pulled up the drive of Corey Cabin, my mouth dropped as it did not look like any of the photos I had seen. The landscaping was not kept up, the hot tub was literally falling apart, and the patio furniture was disheveled (dirty cushions, cobwebs & leaves everywhere, etc). While the inside of the cabin was very neatly decorated, it left much to be desired. There were only 5 seats at the dining room table, the water pressure was horrible, and there was only one shower. If you are used to "ruffing it", I'd recommend staying at Corey Cabin, as you'll be pleasantly surprised with the ready to use linens, bath towels, and full kitchen. If you're expecting, and I quote, "an immaculate, 3 bedrooms, 2 full bath cabin that is filled with character and comfort in every room. It will feel like love at first sight as it invites you to unwind and entertain family and friends with many different features that await you" I would not recommended Corey Cabin. The owners are truly wasting an amazing space as this place has so much potential but has been let-go.
The Corey Cabin is beautiful! It was larger than I expected and much of the furniture is new and the house was very clean.
However, the main reason for choosing this cabin was the hot tube whoch, when I asked the owners 2 months before, they said it was working great. I understand things break but no one informed me so I wasted a few hours trying to get it to work.
Then a pipe burst in the garage and the emergency number the owners left for me was a bust because no one answered or returned my messages. If it was not for my friend who is versed in pkumbing, water would have flooded the garage our entire stay. The owners, who were very good at answering emails before they received my deposit, have still not answered my calld nor emails!!!
I loved the cabin but I would never return if it stay under the same ownership.
There were 9 of us that stayed at Corey Cabin for the weekend. We were celebrating for my sister's bachelorette party.
Cabin is very private
Kitchen is modern and well equipped (the only thing we needed and didn't have was a colander to drain pasta)
Parking multiple vehicles is not a problem
The hot tub fit 8 of us easily
We did not run out of hot water even with all of us showering!
Plenty of towels/wash cloths for the shower as well as sheets/pillow cases/pillows for the beds
There were even dishwasher tabs for the dishwasher
Close proximity to OhioPyle and all the activities available there
Noise travels throughout the cabin (someone laughing woke up EVERYONE)
There was a mouse in the den (discovered when we went to use the pull out couch and a mouse came out of it) and mouse droppings on the pull out couch in the den. Thankfully we didn't HAVE to use that one, so we didn't
Only one shower
Again, the noise travels horribly
All that being said, we did enjoy our stay. Would have preferred no mouse and better insulation throughout the cabin.
We spent a long fall weekend at Corey Cabin. There were three couples in our group. We especially enjoyed its proximity to Ohiopyle State Park since we're hikers. The modern kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed relaxing in front of the fireplace. We also enjoyed the spacious hot tub. We felt that there should have been a woodpile for the fireplace. One serious concern was that there was only one shower in the cabin. The upstairs master bath really needed a shower but had only a whirlpool bathtub. There was a shower on the main level but the water pressure was very poor. We would consider returning if the cabin had a 2nd shower.
