I thought about giving a bad review so that this cabin would be available for my family to use anytime, but I just can't do it. The cabin is cute and has basically everything you need. The hot tub worked perfectly and we enjoyed relaxing in it during the day and at night. The fireplace is outstanding and I fell in love with it. The driveway is very long and gravel so be prepared for that but it is so worth it. The spiral staircase is skinny and steep but the loft is comfortable and stays dark longer than the main floor so if you want to sleep in late the loft is the place to do it. The owners had a photo album to look through showing some of the history of the cabin. They also left tons of firewood on the lower deck. I heard only one car all weekend and it was from someone further up the road. The only other noises are the animals and nature sounds. We will be back.
Love this place!
It's very high up and secluded. We love this place.
Rustic and Relaxing
I planned three days of hiking with my dogs and Mammy’s cabin seemed central to where I wanted to hike and still be out of the way with lots of peace and quiet. Well, we all know about the best laid plans...
Mother Nature decided to dump several inches of snow on us the first day and then several inches of rain the third day. So one day of hiking and the rest of the time chilling by the fire or hanging out in the hot tub. Was very glad I had my four wheel drive Jeep.
Awesome location and cute cozy cottage!
All our needs were catered to very well and we highly recommend this property!
Beautiful Place to Stay
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving get away at Mammy's cabin. We were perched on top of the mountain with beautiful views all around. The hot tub was a big hit with our kids.
I highly reccomend it.
Hiking is wonderful. Just walk out front door and take a hike. Franklin is the gem capital of the USA. Many Gem Mines in the area. Abundant in sapphires and rubies. Rafting and tubing are the big sports. Many beautiful good whitewater rivers for these activities. Franklin has a wonderful entertainment theatre with live plays and entertainment. Downtown Franklin on Saturday night, take a folding chair (at the cabin) and go downtown to the square (gazebo) and enjoy some good free entertainment. Lot of fun places to shop. Children enjoy the Fun Factory and the Franklin Bowling Alley. Need to check your e-mail? We have wifi internet. Antiquing is very good in the area. There are many good restaurants in the area. One of my favorites is Cafe REL. Looking to kick back there is the Lazy Hiker Brewing Company on Main Street. Take a day trip to Asheville and visit the Biltmore Estate and outlet mall, Cherokee to visit the Indians and/or Harrah's Casino, Gatlinburg, and Dollywood. Many large beautiful waterfalls in the area. Visit Highlands (only 25 miles from Mammy's) and enjoy the scenic drive. On the way to Highlands, stop at Dry Falls and walk right under the waterfall. It is a great spot for beautiful pictures. There are also two 19 hole golf courses in Franklin. A short drive from Mammy's cabin is the grocery store Bi-Lo, and Walmart. This can be the most fun and the most economical vacation you could possibly have.
