Magician Lake ~ Land of sun and fun ~
Hello and thank you for taking the time to check out my home. It is a lake front rental home with private pier on Magician Lake. There is a beautiful attached screened in gazebo where you can eat outside and enjoy the lake breeze. Inside you will find a 2 story home with an open floor plan on both levels. The main level consist of 1 full size bathroom, a washer and dryer, 1 private bedroom with a queen size bed and dresser, a full kitchen with dishwasher and dining area, and an area to sit back and enjoy the 'suck you in' cushy leather reclining couches and watch cable TV. WI-FI internet, Upstairs you will find an upper loft area with a calming lake view, 1 full size bathroom with shower, 2 sets of bunk beds, 1 queen bed and a walk in closet.
We stayed at this property for the second time. It is a beautifully appointed home right on the lake. The house is set up well for families, with the large upstairs bedroom and sitting area perfect for the kids, with the ultra comfy downstairs great for the adults. We had great days on the lake (with the rental of a "lily pad") and enjoyable evenings watching movies. The house is well appointed and beautifully finished. Everything you need is provided, from linens and plenty of towels, cooking or dining supplies, a lovely screened porch, etc. It is even better with the new mattress on the bed downstairs. I highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a comfortable beachfront vacation.
My family spent a July week on Magician lake at this wonderful rental for the second year in a row. It truly does feel like a "home away from home" as it is well appointed, extremely clean & well kept by Ed, the owner. The home is perfect for families of varying sizes, girls & guys getaways, or even couples looking to spend some time on the lake in a nicely outfitted place.
RE: the home & amenities, the listing is very accurate. We enjoyed the comfort spaciousness for our extended family as well as the creature comforts: a full downstairs bedroom, large upstairs bedroom with (2) sets of bunks & queen bed, modern kitchen w/ supplies, washer/dryer, family room, big dining table and a separate loft relaxation area - all outfitted w/ latest entertainment tech & wifi. After an unusual day of rain on one of the days w/ a group of 4 kids, we certainly appreciated the DVD/televisions, screened in gazebo, etc. Outdoors we made great use of the grill & boat dock.
Important to mention, the owner ensures the unit is properly stocked with ample bedding & supplies, dish/cookware, soap, nice towels - even detergent! To say the owner is a "neat freak" would be a positive understatement. He truly cares for his home and expects guests to treat it with care & enjoyment as they would their own home too. The owner's communication was timely & service efficient. Having visited the lake & other Magician properties many times, I am confident that this rental presents one of the best value-to-price considerations.
The location of the home is in one of the lake cove areas, which although boat traffic is present, it's much more peaceful than being located along the main shores. The kids (6-8yrs) & adults during our stay loved fishing off the dock in AM/PM, going out on our rented pontoon boat, swimming near dock and at the lake's sand bar, playing board games in the gazebo & all sorts of night time fun indoors. (I recommend renting pontoon & a Lillypad for water fun) The location is also a nice place to start kayaking along the shoreline, calmer waters than the main body.
Within a brief drive is a range of outings from ice cream shops to drive in theaters to dinner locales (Check out Capt Jacks, Wounded Minnow Saloon, the Hayloft). Considering all aspects of comfort, amenities, location & price, a week at Ed's lakefront home is a fantastic & affordable vacation experience, I highly recommend. We plan to visit again in 2014!
Magician Lake is a spring-fed, full-recreational 528 acre lake and takes less than 2 hrs from Chicago, 20 mins to St Joseph (Miles of Lake Michigan Beaches and Shopping) and 40 mins to Kalamazoo or South Bend (Museums and Wineries). It offers swimming, fishing, tubing, skiing, nearby golf courses, wineries, fresh farm stands, u-pick farms. There is Marina to rent speed boats, pontoons, jet skies and water toys. There's an area on the lake called 'The Beach' it's not a land beach but it's a shallow area with a sandy bottom near one of the islands where all the boats anchor and hang out, play catch, listen to music etc...Good times are had by all!
