Tropical island vacation home on Manasota Key, with access to your own beach on the Gulf of Mexico and fishing dock on Lemon Bay (half a block from each). Enjoy your own private heated pool, relax on the quiet hammock, unwind in the breezy sunroom, fish off your own dock, grill in your serene back yard, smile at the sunset, enjoy the internet and cable, clean up in the 2 baths, and sleep well in the cozy 3 bedrooms (sleeps 8). This is a very large, secluded, and private property, though it is just minutes from public beaches and other attractions. View details on our walk-through video: Please note that our beach may or may not have sand, as the beach may come and go with storms or tides. It is generally fun to swin there, though may not be suitable for young children. The next closest public beach is just a nice walk or bikeride (1.2 miles) away.. Please contact us with any questions. :)
We are educators: Jim teaches 7th grade math and does building/remodeling on the side; Judy is a professor. We value family and caring for ourselves and others.
Jim Uebelhoer purchased this house in 2011
This is a private, secluded space in a quiet residential commuity. The pool is a serene refuge, surrounded by natural, local folliage, inviting birds and wildlife. Included in your stay is most anything you'll need: linens, towels, cookware, each bikes, pool toys, books (lending library), videos, and more! The main beach is a short beach ride away.
Kids' stuff galore! Serenity!
We have been coming to Manasota Key from Pittsburgh for the past 6 years and this house suited our needs best. Three spacious bedrooms (we loved the master on one side of the house and the two other bedrooms on the other side), two full bath and a heated pool 10 steps outside the sliding glass door. Extremely private and tucked away off the road but literally 1 minute by car to all the wonderful restaurants. Beautiful, thick, lush landscaping everywhere with several outside patio areas. The beach was a 3 minute walk across the street and down a private lane and my husband enjoyed the dock behind the house for fishing. Everything was available - sheets, towels (even beach towels!), tons of beach items in the garage, everything you needed for meal prep could be found in the kitchen, etc. Perfect for our family of 5. This house will not disappoint!
A home away from home! We had everything we would need for daily living. The home was spacious and comforting. We had 8 people in our family and plenty of room for all of us to be comfortable move about the house. The master bedroom is private with its own little sitting area, which was nice after a long day of playing with the kids. The pool was nice and the kids enjoyed playing in it. We enjoyed the dock on the gulf side and enjoyed coffee there almost every morning. The bigger kids rode the bikes to the beach. There were several bikes to choose from and air tank in the back, had a couple flat tires tho. Nice to have chairs to take the beach. Close enough, but not too close, to the beach and stores. Enjoyed the feel of privacy. Jim and Judy were easy to work with and had no problems with the contract. Would love to visit again and would definitely recommend this property! Thanks again for your kindness Jim and Judy!
Jim and Judy were a dream to work with, very prompt and great attention to detail. Like the last review the photos cannot possibly due justice to this property ! There is new leather couches in living room and a leather sofa bed in the sunroom. Everything in this house makes you feel at home . We had so much fun at the house and pool that we only went to the beach three times. Hope to be back next year with my family 😃
Listing photos didn't do the house justice, it was really well maintained and spacious. We took advantage of both the beach and the dock, and went on down further to Blind Pass beach several times as well. I loved the fact we were in a quiet location, not the commercialism of many beach areas I have visited, which makes it a great getaway. There was more than enough room for our family, great selection of reading materials, and DVD's as well as games. We definitely would like to return on future vacations. We visited nearby Boca Grande Island, and made a day trip to Tarpon Springs, approximately two hours away.
Jim was very prompt in all correspondence. It was a pleasure staying here!
This was a wonderful place for a family beach week! The owners have provided everything you could want for fun in the sun, beach equipment, pool toys, etc. Our family included a five year old and a one year old and they had a ball! We enjoyed cooking on the gas grill and had plenty of dishes and pots and pans for meal prep. This is a nice area with clean beaches. Thanks, Jim and Judy for a great week! We hope to return someday.
The home is very pleasant, well laid out. Master BR on north side and other two BR south side. So, plenty of privacy and quiet. If you like to sleep in, the pool heater needs the timer set to a later start time. The backyard is wonderful. The tropical greenery makes it beautiful and private. The neighborhood is quiet. Reading and sunning by the pool or in the hammock took much of our time. Decent selection of nearby restaurants. Also fun live music. Manasota Key is a pretty place. Three lovely big beaches, and another nice one in a state park at the southern tip of the key.
Plenty of good grocery stores, a health food store, for supplies.
A wonderful getaway for us. We loved the sun and warmth and were so happy to miss weeks of northern cold! Owners were gracious and quick to respond.
