Nice location, nice layout and convenient to town

  • 2 of 5

The house was not very clean and full of rats. Air went out the 2nd day and we were forced to find other accommodations during our stay. We were however refunded all the money promptly.

Owner's Response: The air conditioners were aerviced and repaired at the beginning of the season. Unfortunately, this one had a faulty part which needed to be ordered and replaced. The house has had an exclusion for Norway rats common in beachfront areas. Unfortunately., one found a way through. It was caught and the exclusion hole was repaired. I am sure the presence of a rat led to a feeling of uncleanliness. The problems were delat with immediately and the guesta money was refunded. I am sorry for the guest. This occurred over a month ago and other guests have stayed with no issues. This is a great beachfront house in a beautiful location. The kitchen cabinets could be updated but that is not feasible at this time. The appliances are new. It is fully stocked, roomy and a great place to cook. A house is always a work in progress, especially on the beach! This is a great place if you are looking for clean and comfortable with everything you need and the. best view on the island! It is not Hilton Head and it is not pluah. It has hardwood floors and tile and two sets of stairs, both bathrooms are upstairs. It may not be for you if you have small children or elderly people. Perfect if you're active and adventurous! There are bikes and beach toys available for use. The house is on the aouth end near the gazebo and is on the side adjacent to Little Tybee. We are discounted compared to neighbors and are currently offering specials.

Great view but needs work.

  • 3 of 5

House is in need of repairs. Lights in master bath didn't work. Let owner know but no repairs made for the entire week we were there. Cabinets are falling apart. Canned lighting is rusted and in some places coming loose from the ceiling.

The view is what made the place bareable. Do not go with elderly or anyone who can't handle lots of stairs. Both bathrooms are up stairs as are both bedrooms. Can't get into or out of the house without climbing stairs.

Air and internet worked well as did the othe appliances. Be careful on top deck as some of the floorboards are weak and the railing is less stable than it should be.

Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

I rented this townhouse with my sisters family. Even though it is a townhouse it does not feel like it. It is completely private. We thought it was the best location on the whole island. It is great for families or couples. The space below the house was perfect for storing your beach gear and cleaning off the sand. There were steps that led up to the first deck which was great so you didn't track water and sand into the house. The first floor kitchen/living room was open and had glass doors that open to the deck which looked over the beach. Kitchen was well stocked with all you needed and the washer and dryer was awesome! The top floor has two bedrooms and baths. The master has another deck overlooking the beach. It is really short walk down to the beach. This house and location is great for families. It is away from the crowds by the pier, but short walk to everything. A 20 min drive into Savannah is a great day trip and Fort Pulaski is a good place to visit. The owner was great and easy to work with and answered all my questions in a timely manner. This was an amazing experience for our family and would definitely rent this place again. (disclaimer: even though this place is great it is still lived in and some things were very well used, but this wasn't even an issue for us.)

Thanks Heather for such great service!!!

Great place on Tybee

  • 4 of 5

This was a wonderful place to stay on Tybee Island. The unit was clean and well furnished. The location could not be beat. The decks overlooking the ocean/beach were awesome. It was also walking distance to shops and restaurants. The kitchen and baths could use a little updating but were well equipped. The unit however did not have a grill which would have been nice. The living area had new hard wood floors and was very nice. Overall, this was a great place to stay on Tybee Island.

Georgia On My Mind

  • 4 of 5

Our vacation destination this year was Savannah but with Tybee Island being less than 20 miles away, when we found this rental, we ended up with the best of both worlds. There's nothing like the beach! We originally thought the northern part of the island would be nicer but with 17 and 18 year old girls, we wanted to be within walking distance of the action at the pier. As it turned out, this property at the southern tip was the nicest part of the island. Not crowded, the tides were something to see with the numerous sand bars, and we really liked the place overall. The price was great and gave us everything we were looking for with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a hot tub. Unfortunately, just before we were to leave, we were told the hot tub wasn't heating but we were given a very fair discount to compensate. The tub was filled for us anyway, and we ended up using it during the day to cool off sunning on the deck. The decks were great. We used the lower one for the most part which gave us shade early in the day if we wanted it and sun on the part that wasn't under cover. The property was clean and provided what we needed but we could tell that work was being done on it. The carpet needed cleaned and the walls painted but that was no big deal to us. Had some trouble with the new door from the lower level entrance as it was sticking and could be really tricky. We would stay there again in a heartbeat, though. Really felt it was a great spot, great price and very nice place. A note if you plan to vacation on Tybee, Ft. Pulaski was a delightful surprise if you're into that kind of thing, definitely go. As far as dining, for an overall experience (or if you're really into all boiled seafood, and I mean all) go to The Crab Shack. Macelwees Seafood House was very good but the ambience of the place is just inside the restaurant (we were in the back). Our definite favorite place to eat was AJ's Dockside! Excellent food, and it was wonderful sitting out on the dock. Also, definitely check out Savannah. We went into the city three times and it still wasn't enough time to do all we wanted, and don't pass up Bonaventure Cemetary. We took the tour which was definitely worthwhile and the place is stunningly beautiful! We would definitely recommend this rental and enjoyed our trip immensely!
