This was THE FIRST A-FRAME to be built on Owasco Lake. It's open floor plan is perfect for family gatherings due to it's eat in-kitchen and Dining room. Oversized couches and chairs in the great room make for comfortable, leisurely living. View the 150 feet of lakefront from the kitchen, dining room, great room, and the loft. Also the lakeside deck offers great views as well as the ability to see what the kids are doing at the beach which is just a stone's throw away.
First floor master bedroom, adjoining master bath, plus private bedroom/den w/ futon, wireless. Fully stocked kitchen, heat/central air, washer/dryer, dishwasher/garbage disposal.
The house is unique w/ open floor plan, first floor master bedroom and adjoining large bathroom; across the hall is a private bedroom/den with queen-sized futon.
The location is the very best on Owasco Lake. One of the few sandy beaches, it's located on a sandy, warm cove where the water is generally calm even when the lake is rough.
Great for kids and novice swimmers due to the water's gradual decline so they can swim out far in the shallow water.
We are a family of 4 and this house was more space than we could have used. You enter into a huge great room under the A frame that encompasses the living room, dining room, and kitchen. A much larger family could rent this house and really feel comfortable with all the different spaces. The great room looks out onto an expansive lawn and lake frontage. The weather was hot over Memorial Day weekend and the kids loved playing in the restorative waters of Owasco Lake. We'll be back again.
We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return during the warm months!
My husband and I rented this property for a week in September and while the location was absolutely beautiful and the owners were very accommodating and helpful, we felt the furniture and furnishings were very outdated/worn and that the house needed a good deep cleaning. It was disappointing because it was such an idyllic setting and a wonderful week of beautiful fall weather. We did enjoy the gorgeous lakefront setting, two kayaks provided by the owners and all that the area has to offer.
I stayed at Michelle's house along the Owasco Lake shore, eastern side, for a long weekend with my sisters. The house was clean, well-equipped, and very comfortable, with a beautiful view of the lake from the living room, dining room, and kitchen. It was mid-October and in the mid 50s - 60s with night temperatures in the 40s, so we did not consider swimming. But we had a wonderful time sitting by the lake. Bedrooms and bathrooms were all comfortable and homey. Thanks to Michelle and her siblings for sharing their family home as a rental.
Just returned home from our fourth time staying at this home. The house is always very clean when we arrive. Plenty of parking, large flat yard, sandy beach with easy access into the water (no stairs or large hills to the beach). It has plenty of room for nine people and a very large kitchen and eating areas. The house is located in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood and close to grocery stores, restaurants, wineries and hiking. The owner responds promptly to all inquiries. We are already talking about next year!
My family and I had always wanted to visit the fingerlakes up close and personal. We were able to book this house last minute and the owners were easy to deal with and very accommodating. My favorite part of the day was waking up in the morning and drinking coffee on the deck outside overlooking the the private beach.
I've always been interested in visiting this area because of the numerous natural waterfalls, farm to table restaurants, and fingerlakes wine trail.
We went to Fillmore Glen and loved the natural waterfalls and gorge, which was a ten minute drive. We also took a day trip to Arora and took a free tour of the MacKenzie-Childs house. We ended the day with a trip to the Long Trail winery and dinner at Pumkin Hill Bistro.
I want to come back again next year in August to swim in the lake and go kayaking.
