With new carpeting and wood floors, this cabin is clean, comfortable and well equipped, with lots of room to spread out in. Log beds, and new furniture, large outdoor deck, complement the mountain views!

Leave the crowds and high prices of the Summit area behind and ski Wolf Creek (20 minutes), the most snow in Colorado and still the cheapest lift tickets. About Agi Schmedeman

Dan & Agi has owned vacation rentals for over 20 years. We know what people need when coming to Colorado, and we are always glad to help visitors make the most out of their vacation.

Agi Schmedeman purchased this house in 1999

Why Agi Schmedeman chose South Fork

Dan Schmedeman (owner) has designed and built dozens of log homes through out the Colorado Rockies. There is no place in Colorado more scenic then South Fork, and our cabin is setting in the middle of one of the nicest location in the area. After a few days at the cabin, you will not want to go home.

What makes this house unique

My favorite time is the early fall when i can get up early, get my cup of coffee and walk down to the river or Million Resevoir for some trout fishing.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This is the 3rd visit and it's better then ever. Best location in the area and very private with easy access, even in the winter. The owner has made a number of upgrades recently. New glass top range, microwave, TV, and furniture. We'll be back soon.

Great family vacation!

  • 3 of 5

This large house was great for our family. We had a wonderful time. There was plenty of room for all of us. There are a few repairs that need to be made: there is no shade for the upstairs bedroom with the TV and the shade in the upstairs bedroom with the twin beds is broken, the window in the other upstairs bedroom is cracked, one of the windows downstairs doesn’t have a screen, there is so little water pressure in the upstairs shower that you really can’t use it, and the kitchen sink leaks so badly that we had to keep a towel around it to soak up the water. The upstairs toilet ran over one time but we were able to take care of that. Having said that, the house was very clean and had everything we needed. The outdoor fire pit was fun. We spent most of our time at Wolf Creek and it was only about a 20 minute drive. Overall this was a very good experience for our family. Thanks!

We went to south fork for the slopes. It was a great location and had plenty of room for our 10 people. Great neighborhood, very quiet. Fireplace is awesome!

Great Location-Tons of Space

  • 4 of 5

Very roomy! Love the floor plan-2/2 bdrm/bath downstairs, 3/1 bdrm/bath upstairs. All 5 bedrooms are nice sized and having 3 full bathrooms was a plus as well. The fishermen loved being able to walk out the door and down to the South Fork River. The neighborhood is nice and quiet. Dinning table seats 10 comfortably!!! Kitchen is spacious but no pantry space available due to owners storing toiletry supplies etc, no mixer, no baking pans. Minor drawbacks: dryer is located in master bedroom closet, DVD player didn't work & window screens need repaired. Owners were very quick to respond & great to work with.

Overall we enjoyed our stay

  • 3 of 5

We had a very fun vacation and the house was perfect for our large family of 15. This is an older property and could use a little maintenance.... several of the windows had no screens and the washer and dryer are slow to fill and dry.

A lovely Thanksgiving getaway in Colorado's picturesque high country

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time at this idyllic location - it's truly a beautiful spot. The home is generously proportioned for a large group; we especially loved the open living/dining/kitchen area and the quietness of the upstairs bedrooms even when the downstairs crew was noisy!

The home is older but it's very comfortable - it's time for some new towels and bedding...everything was adequate but really showing it's age. New windows would help keep the cold out/warmth in - but that would undoubtedly be a hefty homeowner expense and may be hard to justify not living there. The window coverings do help tremendously and the rooms were plenty warm and cozy, the windows were just frost covered on the chillier mornings.

We had a great time here and wish all future travelers an equally wonderful time at this home...our only "glitch" was the lack of info on how to get into the house on day 1, but a quick call to the owner got us right in!

South Fork (2 miles) and Del Norte (16 miles) both have nice grocery stores; if you want Walmart go to Alamosa (48 miles) or Pagosa Springs (43 miles). Cell phone service was fine for all but those who had T-Mobile.

We enjoyed feeding the stellar jays and magpies peanuts on the deck, fishing in the river (caught and released a 12" Brown Trout), walking around the neighborhood, hiking area trails, as well as making day trips to Pagosa Springs, Creede, South Fork and Del Norte to see the sights. A week was just long enough to do nearly everything we had intended to do on our vacation.
