Guestbook comments from the manager

The quests commented on the best location they ever had renting on Pine Island and Bokeelia (They are coming on the Pine Island for the 4th time) Such an easy reach of Gulf of Mexico and Beaches (5-10 minutes instead of going through the canals for 30 minutes or more) and open view of Sanibel. They decided to rent again in 2013 for a longer stay. Pet freindly and fencing.

Dirty & Rundown

  • 1 of 5

The house in in a great location and a nice neighborhood. That's the only thing positive I can say. First, the overall condition of the house was unacceptable. The issues go beyond the run down condition of the place, which in itself is remarkable. The key issue was the cleanness! The house was too dirty to live in without cleaning. All the dishes and cookware were not usable on arrival, many looked liked they were just rinsed and put away, so we loaded everything in the dishwasher and cleaned the cabinet and refrigerator. The whole house was covered in dust and what looked like construction dirt. The owner came over and cleaned, actually moved the dirt around, including the HVAC vent which only served to spread even more old dirt and dust through the system causing us to experience allergy problems for the next week. The beds were no better. We striped the sheets and cleaned them, removing and putting aside the comforters. If you're bringing a boat there's a large doc. Unfortunately, There's pet fencing across the whole thing, so you'd be stuck with the boat lift for access which was broken and falling down. Of all the years I have been renting, this has been the worst!

Loved this place!

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely loved this place! It's big, spacious, clean, and has room for more than 1 boat on the dock. House is very close to the mouth of the canal so you're out in open water in a couple of minutes. We had 2 dogs accompany us on our vacation and I was pleased to find very secured backyard fencing. Restaurants in the area do shut down around 9pm-10pm, but we enjoyed a few good dinners at Woody's Waterside which was just a few minutes up the road. You can also travel a little further into Matlacha where we found Micelli's, or if it gets late, Lazy Flamingo in Bokeelia stays open later. I would definitely stay at this house again.
