Under the Stars

At the foothills of hiking wonderfully remote and only 25 min drive to Tucson center.

Spacious separate house , Gary and Bonnie helpful and gracious hosts. Great quiet getaway.

Just what we had hoped to find!

Serenity defined.

Quiet and remote, yet close to everything needed for a rewarding visit to the Arizona desert. Gary and Bonnie are friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Loved my stay and hope to return.

Perfect spot!

  • 5 of 5

Nearly a year later and I am finally submitting this review!

This casita was a dream place to stay. Peaceful, comfortable well equipped with everything we needed. Far enough from town yet close enough for day trips anywhere. Loved staying here - Gary & Bonnie are wonderful hosts. So enjoyed walking the property, visiting with the horses & donkey. If we could give more than a 5 star rating - we would!! Highly recommend this lovely oasis in the desert!

Almost Perfect

  • 5 of 5

Where do I start? The title says it all, "Almost Perfect". It would be perfect if I owned it. By that I mean I could live there peacefully and quiet for the rest of my life. Gary and Bonnie made us feel welcome from the second we arrived. Gary and Bonnie are the best hosts you can ask for, we asked and they gave us numerous recommendations for food, hiking trails and other items. Bonnie and Gary are people that when you meet them, you feel like you have known them for 30 years. The casita is everything the pictures show, perfect for a few people. The location is ideal for almost anything you want to do in Tucson and surrounding area. We like to hike and there are a few trailheads 5 minutes from the house and we hiked over 60 miles in the 2 weeks we stayed there. The place has numerous animals on the property. A few horses, a donkey named Jasmine and a dog named Otis. If you have never experienced the night sky in the west, you should visit this place and gaze into the night sky after dark. You will experience stars as you’ve never seen them. Mt Lemon is a short drive away and well worth the drive.

We are already planning next year’s trip to Tucson and we will definitely be staying here again.

I would recommend this rental to anyone

Close to everything, but away from it all!

  • 5 of 5

What a great choice we made when we rented this casita! It is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you need for a short or long stay. It was immaculately clean and very roomy with comfortable furniture. We especially liked the location - very close to restaurants and shopping, but away from the hustle bustle - very close to the entrance to Saguaro N.P. East entrance. Gary and Bonnie were super hosts and enjoyed sharing their lovely ranch including their horses, donkey and Otis their friendly therapy dog! We certainly recommend this casita and hope to return!

Almost Home "Almost Heaven"

  • 5 of 5

What can I say. It is the very best home away from home that you could ask for. Gary and Bonnie are the best hosts you can ask for. This is the best getaway from everyones busy lifestyle. The casita is outstanding with great amenities. The location is as dream come true ( mountains, friendly horses, a beautiful shy burrow and Otis, the best friendliest dog in the world. I hike and hiking is just a few minutes walk from the home. My wife is a horse lover and was literally in heaven, with both being with the horses and helping around the ranch. It became very hot the last few days we were visiting, but no problem, the whole house air conditioning took care of that. Bonnie and Gary, thank you for the best vacation anyone could ask for. See you both next year. Please give Otis, Jesse, General, Koda, Jasmine, and Angel a big kiss on the lips from us. Can't wait to see you next year. ATTN, ANYONE READING THIS. This is the best place you could ask for at a very reasonable price. It would be a great getaway both Winter and Summer, so don't think that only a winter visit is required. Owner's Response: Thanks so much Frank and Mary. We enjoyed having you as neighbors for a short while. And thanks again for helping out with the horses. We look forward to your next visit. Gary and Bonnie
