Sweet Dreams

Both artfully designed bedrooms feature Queen-Size Beds, Memory Foam Mattresses, High Thread Count sheets and Organic Cotton Duvets. The Master Bedroom boasts a large Walk-In Closet. In case of extra sleeping requirements, the sofa in the living room converts to a full size bed.

We've lived in Austin since 1999 and we love it. We enjoy traveling (as often as possible) and meeting the travelers that grace our vacation rentals. Our other passions include renovation, graphic design, film making, publishing, and wake-surfing on lake Austin.

The Perfect Space

We absolutely loved this rental in Austin! The photos represented the house very well and it fit us perfectly. We had great communication with the owners and she even called me personally after I had sent an email question. Great customer service!

Upon arrival we were greeted with light music playing and a clean, happy environment. They have a fun little screened in porch off the back that feels private. My husband and I shared this house with my mom and felt like we had plenty of space. The bathroom was really nice for a house that size. They thought of every possible need and I was super impressed with the organization and great use of space. Even the master bedroom had a closet many of us envy!

We have a mid century modern home ourselves, so this really made us feel right at home. The kitchen was well stocked and we lacked for nothing.

The location was perfect for us. A few blocks from some relatives and from there we had an easy and charming walk to SoCo for lots of shopping and dining. And our never miss breakfast spot - Magnolia Cafe!

Thanks for such a great place to stay - we will be back!

Well decorated, simple yet welcoming

The home is so cute and welcoming, stocked with everything we needed and in a great location. We had one small issue with trying to watch Netflix and the owners checked on the issue and checked on us to make sure things were resolved. The home is clean and well maintained and we really enjoyed staying here. We walked to the Soco area daily and just loved the neighborhood.

Comfortable and convenient

A perfect place/home base for exploring Austin. We loved the neighborhood and its proximity to South Congress. We also enjoyed walking on the Lady Bird Lake trail. Very comfortable beds!

Cold Showers, Delayed Schedules

I would not recommend the Yellow Door until the owners fix the water heater. We were staying at the property for three weeks and I had to re-light the water heater at least six times! On my hands and knees on a dirty floor. Repair man said it was blowing out from the wind entering the vent on the roof. Very poor design and nothing got fixed during our recently concluded stay.

Owner's Response: Craig contacted us three times during his stay claiming that the pilot light on the water heater was out. Each time, we had a professional out right away (even on a Sunday afternoon). They all ran tests on the 2 year old water heater and found everything to be normal. What they did say is that someone kept messing with the dial settings. Based on his conversation with Craig, one of the contractors determined that Craig was inventing the situation in order to finagle a discount. Craig will not be welcome back.

Comfortable Austin property in a quiet neighborhood

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights in August, 2016. We had a pleasant stay. The property is clean, spacious, modern and comfortable. We enjoyed the proximity to South Congress and downtown, though it was nice to have a car, due to the heat on the week we were there.

A ten minute walk takes you to vibrant South Congress Avenue (aka SoCo) — filled with fantastic restaurants, cafes, boutiques, and music venues. Big Stacy Park equipped with 3 acres of walking trails and a heated, spring-fed swimming pool is just a 5 minute walk. You'll also find a playground and wading pool at little Stacy Park - enough fun to entertain even the the tiniest travelers for hours.

The entertaining Second, Warehouse, and Sixth street districts downtown are a 5 minute bus/cab ride. Also near are Barton Springs, Zilker Park, the hike and bike trail along Lady Bird Lake (Town Lake), Auditorium Shores, the Convention Center, the bats at the South Congress bridge, Whole Foods Market, the Long Performing Arts Center, the Capitol and much more.
