Guestbook comments from the owner

Just wanted to say thanks for our time at the cabin. It was a great experience! Definitely cool and quiet at night which was a welcome change. The kids enjoyed being able to see all of the stars from the deck. The grill worked quite well for hot dogs and corn on the cob. I appreciate your son coming by to make sure all was well. We were blessed in being able to stay there. All the best to you and your family! - Brian & Ericka

Excellent location cabin well appointed and supplies with all necessidities.

The location was perfect for our R&R needs. We loved the wildlife, hiking opportunities, comfort and great fireplace. The only problem we had was with the WiFi. We connected all right, showing good signal strength, but we couldn't access anything, webpages, e-mails, etc. We kept getting messages that the server was unavailable or something to that effect. Might be a good idea if John had it checked out. Minor problem. Other that that we couldn't have more pleased. I think we'll be back.

The best rental ever!!

  • 5 of 5

The view--great! The cabin--great!! We never turned on the tv. We enjoyed the fireplace both mornings and evenings. Our 9 yr old grandson caught fish, we played Monopoly and just had the best time sitting on the deck. Our lab loved running in the fields and laying by the fire at night. We brought our portable kennel for her so she felt right at home also. The beds were very comfortable and the shower water hot. We didn't use the tub but it looked sweet(old claw foot). Saturday am 3 deer came thru the yard and a few minutes later about 20 turkeys walked by--WOW. EXCELLENT!!! This will be our future cabin!

Awesome older lakeside cabin w/lots of great modern upgrades, peaceful & still close to Julian

  • 5 of 5

We were fortunate enough to get this cabin 2 weekends in a row for my husband's 50th birthday (March 2018). The price was great, the service was excellent, the cabin was amazing, and the stay was relaxing (even though the weather was horrid both weekends!). The cabin is older but has been nicely upgraded and includes a decent sized BBQ that were able to enjoy during a brief break in the weather. (Full kitchen too!) We would have loved to use all of the features (esp. the claw bathtub & wrap around porch), but it was just too cold and windy. So we enjoyed the heater (works great!) and the huge fireplace (oh yeah!). The house is walking distance from the lake and has gorgeous views from almost every window; Julian is about 10 to 15 minutes away via car (only 6 miles, but there could be tourist traffic). My husband was able to get a 1/2 day of fishing during the 2nd weekend and said the fish were large (min 13") and plentiful (caught his limit). We enjoyed the Piute Trail Lodge so much that we are trying to book it again in the coming weeks. What a little gem nestled in the outskirts of San Diego County that is easily accessible from Riverside and San Bernardino Counties!

Beautiful cozy cabin with an amazing view.

  • 5 of 5

We had such an amazing experience. The cabin was fully stocked with all the items we brought with us and we were able to leave some behind. The view of the lake and mountains was a sight to die for. The beds were comfortable and the central heat kept us warm since it was a bit windy and had some rain and snow. We were afraid we would freeze but nope! Owners were super friendly and stopped by to make sure we had enough wood which was a big bonus. They didn’t bother us at all and it was nice to just get away without a hassle. Our kids were able to turn their electronics off and enjoy nature. I was really glad they had direct tv, it helped out the kids to sleep and stay asleep. The bathroom was huge so that was also nice! I hope we can stay again soon!
