This rental property exceeded my expectations! Great location, well furnished, clean and comfortable... a fantastic value! Thank you for an unforgettable vacation experience.
My stepdaughter lives in Marfa, so we have been visiting West Texas for years, staying in trendy cottages, hotels and teepees. I like Fort Davis best, because 1) there is no train going through and blasting its horn several times a night 2) it isn't as expensive 3) it has a very good grocery store with a lot of natural foods as well as a regular grocery 4) close to everything but in the middle of nowhere
This was our third time to stay in Fort Davis, and the Prickly Pear was everything we could want. There are four bedrooms, two and a half baths and two very comfortable sofas. The neighborhood is quiet although it is just a couple of blocks from the highway. We are 'foodies' and always look for a compatible kitchen, and this one was perfect. There is also a grill outside and wood provided. A dishwasher, microwave and everything else we could think of was right there.
Wi-fi is provided but no cable tv. Games, DVDs, and plenty of room were great when we got rained out. Comfortable beds. A beautiful view of the Davis Mountains out the front door, where we could sit and drink coffee and watch the sun come up. There was a wood burning fireplace and double hung windows and central air and heat for comfort. It was just perfect, our best trip yet, and we are looking forward to our next visit.
Really enjoyed our stay. Clarissa kept us well informed about the house and it was ready when we arrived. The house was clean and well stocked. Our son had videos to watch in the evening while the rest of us talked. We couldn't have been happier and will stay here again on our next visit if the house is available.
