Old cottage feel in a great location and friendly neighborhood.
We had a great stay with the family at this nice little cottage. Proximity to town is great as well as the hiking trails. The owners are very welcoming and inviting, we loved our weekend stay at the Juniper Cottage.
Thank you for your kind words. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you will come again.
Great location with a beautiful view..
Easy to find, plenty of parking, great for families, and quaint. You can see the charm in each and every room. The living spaces and amenities gave our family a nice break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The yard was great for the dog.
Cottage was fantastic!. Exactly like the pictures. Everything worked like it should and yard was perfect for dogs. I would definitely stay again.
We very much enjoyed our quiet stay at this cute home. Very convenient to downtown and also hiking. Very comfortable beds.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We hope you will come stay again.
A nice older home in the mountains of Prescott
Positives: Lovely older home. Very clean on main floor. Owner very responsive. Nice weather in the mountains to escape the heat of Phoenix. Loved seeing javelinas going through the back yard each morning. Wonderful back porch to sit and have morning coffee - nice front porch to sit and relax; regardless of the time of day, there was always a place in the shade and/or in the sun for whichever you are seeking. Lovely patio with grill in front yard. Well stocked kitchen. Unadvertised bonus - third bedroom, second sitting room and second bathroom in basement for when we had guests. Air conditioners in master bedroom and living room - house was cool and comfortable on hot days, including the day we arrived. Plenty of parking both in driveway in back yard and on wide area in front yard. Wifi was good. Very nice television in living room with cable.
Room for improvement: While the house is lovely, renters should be remember that this is an older home. Water pressure is very low in the bathroom, especially compared to the kitchen. Warning signs on toilets talked about needing to be gentle with septic system - toilet and sinks periodically made gurgling sounds, toilet clogged once but we were able to resolve with plunger. Back porch needs painting and repairs. Stairs on back porch are narrow, and have low header - even at 5"10" my wife had to duck (at 6"3" I had to be very careful). While we could close and lock windows when we went out, bathroom window was difficult to slide up and down, it did not lock and the metal window frame is rusting from the water that hits the window when showering.
We recognize owner has no control over neighbors but renters should be aware that adjoining property on front side of house has chickens which sometimes get loose and adjoining property on the back side of house has dogs that are often left outside barking for extended periods of time.
Thank you for the kind words about the Juniper Cottage. In regards to the concerns you had while staying, we have replaced the shower head with the result of much improved water pressure. Our painters have just finished painting the exterior including the deck and it looks great. That had been on the schedule but due to occupancy, we just were able to complete the job so as not to interrupt our guests. We spoke to the neighbors about their pets and we hope that issue is resolved as well. We encourage our guests to let us know while they are staying if anything needs attention and we will try to resolve it then. We hope you will come back and join us again.
Perfect location - comfortable beds
My husband and I were blessed to be able to stay at this sweet spot for two whole months during our transition to the Prescott area. This was our temporary home while we looked for a house to buy, which we got to do with the help of Christie & Randy who are also real estate agents. The house had everything we needed - comfortable beds, plenty of cutlery, and an inviting atmosphere. We were there through May and June so outside temps were still chilly when we first arrived and down right hot by the time we left. The heater and cozy duvets kept us plenty warm on cold spring nights and the two window air conditioning units were fine for cooling us off when summer temps climbed. This house is maybe 10 minutes from Goldwater Lake and less than that from Court House square so whether a person wants wilderness or museums, community festivals and shopping it is all literally just minutes away. We really could not have chosen a better location. The views driving down the hill into town are breathtaking and the sunsets are to die for. You will love it - we sure did. The only down side for us was poor water pressure in the shower. But it was great having a washer & dryer on site and we even had room to keep our small (10 ft) boat stored there. The downstairs suite was a nice added bonus the one weekend we had company from the valley come up to see us. Since the hosts live right across the street they are very responsive and truly do all they can to be sure guests are comfortable.
