A wonderfully open, bright beach house on a sand dune, beautifully decorated with a sailboat and beach theme and very comfortable for family gatherings, weddings, graduations, & birthdays.
The panoramic view of Lake Michigan, brilliant sunsets and the quiet woods from the wrap around deck are spectacular. The setting is peaceful from the 135' private sugar sand beach up to the quiet valley of the woods. A bonfire on the beach is perfect for star gazing.
The house with its many windows for natural light, has an open design with a modern fully equipped kitchen and large dining area. There are 4 bedrooms with a king in the master bedroom, queen in a guest room, 2 twins in a guest room, a queen sofa bed in the downstairs bedroom, a queen sofa bed in the open room and a single in the game room. Laundry room with washer/dryer on the first floor. Three bathrooms with a Jacuzzi in the Master bathroom.
The large deck has many sets of tables, a swing, picnic table , gas grill and lounge chairs to enjoy outdoor eating, visiting and relaxing while watching the sailboats, jet skiers, kayaks, fishing boats, and glorious sunsets. It is only 2 miles of beach walking south to the charming, quaint, historic village of Pentwater with its many unique shops, restaurants, and concerts in the Village Green.
THE BEACH HOUSE IS AVAILABLE SEPT. 3rd ON UNTIL NOVEMBER. WILL RESERVE FOR WEEKENDS AS WELL AS BY THE WEEK AFTER SEPT.3rd.
My husband and I bought the property, designed and built the beach house. We wanted an open plan with many windows to enjoy the view of Lake Michigan and the view of the quiet woods behind the house. It faces west providing glorious sunsets and south capturing the daily sun on the deck. Families and friends can socialize in the open room and on the wrap around deck while enjoying privacy in their bedrooms and on their balconies. The house sits on top of a sand dune, hence Samara is Sam + Marilyn on a sand dune!
Marilyn Vitale purchased this house in 1994
The attraction to this property is the location on Lake Michigan with a sugar sand beach and stunning sunsets. Pentwater Village is our favorite charming village that focuses on restaurants, specialty shops, art, antiques, boating, fishing, great golf courses, entertainment, hiking and many family activities. It is only a 10 minute drive to Pentwater.
This house was perfect for our family! It was spacious and open with a huge deck overlooking the lake. Also, the house was private and great for kids. It was only short walk down some stairs to the private beach and was easy enough for kids or grandparents to walk up and down with no problem. The owners met us to show us around and were both so kind and laid back which made the experience even better. I hope we get to come back!
Great place for all ages! Beautiful house on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. Large open kitchen and living room. Decks off the second floor bedrooms. Large beautiful deck off the main floor for eating and relaxing outside with a view of the Lake. Private beach. Close to activities(boating, fishing, mini-golf, Charles Mears State Park and restaurants) in Pentwater and Ludington. I would definitely stay there again.
Spacious house with open living room/dinning/kitchen.
Beautiful view of sunset on Lake Michigan.
Close to Pentwater and Ludington.
Love the large front deck and 2nd floor balcony.
I'm planning on going again.
This was a great house for our family vacation. The house had everything we needed for a fun, carefree vacation with three generations ranging in age from 11-65. The only thing that we wish were better had nothing to do with the house - the weather and the cold water the week we were there made things a little brisk.
That said, Samara sands had the games we needed to keep everyone engaged, the books for people to read when we needed quiet, and enough space for 8 people to get a little "down" time when needed.
Great location, nice house from the outside, but the owner is really asking you to pay them to be their caretaker. They provide a broken laundry and expect you to do all laundry for the house before leaving. So you have to be out by 10am on a Saturday and they expect you to have showered AND cleaned your towels before checkout, and somehow this has to be done when the dryer provided is broken. Oh, and don't forget that the owner expects you to water the plants.
Also be warned that this house has NO air conditioning, and while you may think that this location doesn't need it, it most certainly needs something. Once the clock hits 4pm and the sun is streaming in the front windows the place BAKES. It makes it very hard to cook in the kitchen or enjoy the place.
Great location, right on the beach, easy access to Pentwater, Ludington and everything in the area.
