Quaint Beach Cottage in historic Point Judith area of private Breakwater Village. Situated 40 feet from the water with private beach and beautiful sunsets every night.
I cannot praise this location and accommodation enough. I had a fabulous week in this cottage which is of a very high standard. It has a great view of the ocean, with restaurants close by. I would highly recommend Spain's for a steak. The hot tub is a fantastic way to relax at the end of the day. The nautical theme of the cottage is very fitting. I will definitely be returning to this superb beach house.
From the moment we arrived until the very sad moment we had to say goodbye to the place we called home for 5 days; we were in complete bliss. Breakwater Village is a fabulous place for the kids to ride their bikes and just be kids with out the hassle of worrying about traffic. the few cars that do go by are driving at a snails pace. We felt very safe letting our kids play catch in the "road" in front the cottage. The cottage itself is very homey and has everything you could need on a beach vacation and more! My family of 4 was very comfortable, never feeling like there wasn't enough room. Cara was very friendly and responsive when we called her. As for the view, there is no other view more beautiful than the sunsets on Point Judith. Absolutely breathtaking. People lined the streets and beach to watch the sun retreat for the day with drink in hand nightly. Everyone we met was very friendly and welcoming. The private beach was fantastic. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a respite from reality and enjoy a few days in paradise.
My wife and I stayed here after a long search for something suitable with easy beach access and views. This cottage was perfect for us. The area is quiet and tranquil. The cottage has everything one could need - outdoor grill, picnic table, retractable awning etc.. The owner could not have been more helpful throughout the booking process. Our stay, though brief, was among our most enjoyable mini-vacations. It is a short drive from many beaches, restaurants, and supermarkets for those who prefer to eat in. We hope to visit again.
I love this place. I would live here every summer if given the choice! Though it is a small house, we fit 4 people in it comfortably. Note: it only really works if your 4th person is flexible with where they sleep. Plan for two people in the master bedroom, 1-2 on the futon. If your 3rd and 4th won't share a bed, there is floorspace or a comfy overstuffed chair with foot rest. Our fourth slept on that comfortably, but he is not picky.
Other than that, this place was perfect. Cara provides for everything: candles, books, movies, wifi, grill, and so much more! It is just steps away from the beach and the views are fantastic! You really can't get better than this property, even in that little community. Everyone is super friendly surrounding you and the beach is just popular enough that there are people all around but it is not crowded. Grocery and restaurants within a 5-15 minute drive and all on a straightaway. Ferry is within 10 minutes for a trip to Block Island.
Super recommend this place! We will be back!
Cozy, casual, and comfortable little place with great views. Cara has thought of everything to make for a pleasant stay. We visited off-season, so the beach was empty and the neighborhood quiet. I imagine that this small community bustles during the summer, and because the bungalow is right on the beach, there would probably be a good amount of foot traffic and a little car traffic; but the folks who were there seemed friendly. Because the proverbial "April showers" were a little late this year, we had mostly cool, gray, sometime rainy days. But not so bad that we couldn't find plenty of beaches to walk and shops to visit within a short drive. And plenty of good food all over the place. The one partly-cloudy day gave a hint of how nice the sunsets look from the front room or the patio. Easy to recommend a stay here!
Pretty much "what they said" (the other reviewers) on this place. Very nice, cute, clean, comfortable. Cara very trusting and easy to work with. The little community of homes and cottages is real cool. Enjoyed walking around and looking. Lots of properties in this small "village" but only a handful are waterfront so this is a lucky find. We didn't use much stuff while there but it looks like you'll have everything you need. Noticed a blender/iron/toaster/, etc. I didn't ask the owner, but it looks like there's no wi-fi. We don't have smart phones, and I forgot to bring my mobile hotspot, but NBD you learn to do without.
Good selection of DVD's and great assortment of music CD's (except for Dave Matthews Band, ugh). Everyone else in the village has to walk up the street to see the awesome sunsets while you can relax in an Adirondack chair right there at the cottage.
We live in Connecticut, but If you are not from the area and looking at traveling to New England, we recommend this area, as it probably best represents your vision of what the area is like. I was raised on the Connecticut shoreline yet Narragansett was a favorite and frequent place for my parents to travel to with their RV.
