Enjoy this delightful shared-waterfront vacation home sitting in an acre of grounds sloping down to the lake. Grill on the gas grill on the huge 40ft deck, while you relax and watch the sun set. Or enjoy the very well appointed gourmet kitchen with granite countertops, with wine cooler and butcher block island. Beautifully furnished with very comfortable seating area with flat-screen TV and satellite, and dining area (seats 8).
Property slopes down to the shared waterfront. Property is at the end of a 'finger' of the lake, and waterfront is shared between 4 houses. Access to waterfront by foot from property. Access by road to boat ramp, which is at the end of the property. Plenty of parking for boats and cars on property.
Property is owned by Sharon, who lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and 11-year old son.
Sharon Paine purchased this house in 2006
We bought this property because of it's lovely lakeside location. It's so peaceful to sit on the deck and enjoy the view down to the lake. And the house itself is very comfortable - a home away from home. Every time I'm there I feel relaxed and peaceful.
The house is great and very well equipped. In a nice neighborhood on a quiet cove, but just off a main finger of the lake. The only negative is the shared dock where you have to take your boat our every evening. This isn't convenient, but the boat ramp was easy and there is lots of parking.
We had a wonderful time staying here!
What a lovely home! The location is perfect. We saw deer in the front yard the first morning. While owners might not appreciate this, the visitors sure liked watching them. The location was so perfect. The boat launch is literally at the bottom of the yard. We brought kayaks and a paddleboarding, all of which was our first time trying, and it was perfect in this little cove for trying our skills (or lack of). A comfortable house, plenty of room. The kitchen was very functional. We grilled out every night and we even cooked bacon outside on the side burner. Watched birds from the deck, cute little hummingbird came to peek at us every time we all sat on the deck. Just a peaceful, lovely place to stay! We hope to be back again, and this is the kind of place that makes you want to own a lake house!
A small group of us just returned from a long-weekend stay. This place was exactly what we were looking for. New grill; large back yard; immediate access to the water at the end of the yard; a fully stocked kitchen; large bedrooms with comfortable beds; and a huge deck. One note, however, is that there isn't a hot tub. It's not listed in the amenities, but it's shown in the photos; just a heads up that it's no longer there. We didn't mind, though, since it was in the 90s during our stay.
We did have a few issues when we arrived to the house (it looked like the cleaning company didn't come, and the place wasn't clean like it should have been upon check-in). But we let Sharon know, and she was incredibly responsive and apologetic for the situation. Definitely wasn't her fault, but she was a pleasure to deal with in correcting the situation.
The house is conveniently located only 15 minutes from a Food Lion, Dollar General, and a few restaurants.
I'd definitely recommend this house if you're looking for a spacious place that's conveniently located and has all the amenities you need for a great weekend away!
We really enjoyed this rental. We had three families vacationing and this house fit everyone comfortably. It was great having rooms on different floors so we could all spread out. The short walk to the lake was great. The kids really enjoyed the floats at the house. The owner was very helpful, responsive, and great to work with. We look forward to renting this property again!
The house was very comfortable and in a good location Not exceptionally distant to grocery, restaurant, beach or marina. The area is quiet and the one neighbor I met was very pleasant and friendly. The yard offers shade and space for outdoor recreation. The deck over looks the sloping grounds. It is a very shot walk from the house tho the boat dock. The owner of the property is very helpful to get you settled in the home. I enjoyed the use and stay in this spacious home
