About Jayne Cohen

Lake Winnipesaukee is my favorite place to be from early May to late October!! We have lived on the lake all of our lives and been lucky enough to grow up by the water.

Jayne Cohen purchased this house in 2005

Why Jayne Cohen chose Lake Winnipesaukee Area

Wake up each morning and watch the sunrise on your very own private dock. Don't be surprised if you are greeted by the morning loons. See a different colored sunset each evening. Spectacular!!

We love it so much we live next door to our rental cottage. The cottage is well maintained by my husband and I. Our guests are simply friends we have not met yet! It is extremely important to us that we exceed your expectations and make your stay at the lake special!

What makes this house unique

Enjoy swimming, boating and relaxing in a private setting. Watch fireworks from the front yard. Swim anytime day or night. Enjoy beautiful sun rises and sunsets. Cottage is extremely private yet just a few minutes from town. See eagles, loons, minks, moose, deer and more especially during quieter times in the Spring and Fall. Close to all area attractions, restaurants and shopping.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My mothers and I had a wonderful time, even though most of the week was spent sightseeing, it was great to come back to the lakehouse. The view every morning was worth all the driving. The house was everything you described in the listing and more. Everything that we needed (except linens-which we were told to bring) was here and ready. I hope to return next year with my husband and two sons. They would love this house, being right on the lake they would never want to leave. Thank you so much!

Year 5 at the cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is our 5th year renting this cottage. We absolutely love it there. The cottage is as clean as they come. The yard is large and the beach is perfect. The sunsets are the best ones I've ever seen. The owners are always adding to the cottage. This year additions included kayaks & a built in fire pit! They are always so helpful and generous if we find we need something. You couldn't stay at a better place with better owners.

Wonderful cottage on a gorgeous lake

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful little cottage on a gorgeous lake. The beach area is sandy, you don't even need water shoes. We saw 3 families of ducks complete with ducklings, several geese and gosling families, chipmunks galore, and pretty birds. There's fish in the lake, and more importantly, a friendly neighborhood bear graced our presence as he took a stroll through the backyard and sniffed around a little but mainly appeared to take in the gorgeous lake view. The trees are very tall and old; you really feel like you're in a forest, and yet the cute town of Meredith is only 20 minutes away. The king size bed slept very well, and no complaints about anything inside the house. Hope to be back soon!

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with us and then sharing your experience with other travelers. During the spring and fall, when the lake and the area are quieter, it is not unusual to see some wildlife - loons, eagles, deer, moose and yes even a bear occasionally. The setting is very private yet 5 minutes from the towns of Moultonboro and Center Harbor, so when you have to leave to get something, civilization is just around the corner. Most importantly we are very happy to learn that you had a wonderful time and intend to return again. Our guests' satisfaction and safety are our top concerns! Jayne & Wayne Cottage Owners

This cottage met all our expectations. The owners Jayne and Wayne were very accommodating. The views out to the Lake from the living room are wonderful. We got to see the loons every day.

Extremely clean and efficient!

  • 5 of 5

The property was delightful, comfortable, and very efficiently maintained. The water is the cleanest we've ever seen, and the beach sand just as clean and beautiful. The downside was having to bring all our linens, and while we were there, unfortunately the town had started working on cutting the limbs of the trees to prepare for the winter months. Understandably, but unfortunate for us, they came at 7 AM for most of the time during our stay. It would have been the perfect vacation, and money more than well spent, had we not been woken every morning so early by the town crew. All that aside, the owners couldn't have been more pleasant, and very accommodating to our every need. We hope to stay with them again sometime in the future.

A slice of paradise

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the cottage was simply perfect in every way. Cottage was extremely clean and smelt great, we rent every summer on Winnipesaukee and this is not always found in rentals. The owners live next door and went out of thier way to accomendate all of our needs. Jayne made launching our boat and wave runner from the nearby public ramp and navigating to her dock a breeze. The owners were a delight to work with and respected our privacy leaving us to ourselves, while it was comforting to know they were just a call away. The property is amazing with great views of the lake from the cottage and beach. We took pictures of stunning sunsets worthy of any magazine cover, simply beautiful!! The cottage has everything you need for a week on the lake, from dishes, pots and pans, plenty of floats, life jackets, balls, and a canoe and row boat. Upon departure we booked the same week next year as a repeat customer - a first for us, until next year. Thanks to the owners Jayne and Wayne for a wonderful vacation! Feeling rejuvenated and fresh. This beautiful spot on the lake will have this affect on you I promise!!

Owner's Response: We of course know who this guest is and appreciate them taking the time to write a review and share their experience with other travelers. We are very lucky to have guests like them who love and respect the cottage and lake as much as we do! We are especially glad to hear they enjoyed all that is offered. Our returning guests have created wonderful memories each year. We enjoy seeing their children and grandchildren grow and we look forward to hosting their yearly vacation on the Lake! 2017 is booking up quickly, we encourage any new guests to make their reservations early. Comfortable, peaceful and convenient

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at this property in early July. As a group of 4 adults (2 parents and 2 young adults) we had plenty of room to spread out and be comfortable in the house. The house is clean and more than adequate as a lakeside cottage, but the real magic of this property is the location. It is situated deep down a quiet gravel road and has a flat, soft grass covered yard leading down to a sandy beach with a dock. The time at the beach was very private and peaceful and with the windows open in the bedrooms, you will wake to the sound of birds in the morning. Despite the peaceful setting, it is a cinch to exit the quiet neighborhood and find hikes, bike rides, restaurants, museums, shops and other distractions in abundance. The owners were close by and were exceedingly helpful and detail oriented but were also careful to give you your space unless asked. Overall this met all of our expectations and delivered a fantastic week away.
