We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Cozy Cabin. Its exactly as advertised. The cabin is roomy and has everything you need for preparing meals and relaxing after a day of sight seeing. The surroundings are peaceful and it has easy access to the lake. We especially enjoyed the canoe and paddling around the lake in the evening. You are only 15 minutes from Lake George and easy access to the freeway if traveling north up to Ticonderoga or other sights. The lake is shallow by the dock so its easy for the kids to play in the water or swim. The hammock was really nice too!
We appreciate this wonderful review of our camp. Just to clarify- the camp is located on the Hudson River in the town on Lake Luzerne. This is a common error made by guests as we are located near the bay of the river giving it the appearance of a lake.
Absolutely stunning cabin. Me and my fiancé had an amazing time at Cozy Camp! Pictures do not do any justice for the views and sights, they're simply amazing. Cabin has everything you need for a weekend away or a full week stay. John and Coleen were so helpful with the whole booking process, the bottle of wine and fresh flowers was an unexpected surprise as well. Only 15 mins to Lake George and the north way. Definitely will come back here in the future!
We loved the Cozy Cabin. Relaxation is a rare thing in everyday life. This place has just the right amounts of the things that help you get to that feeling. There is so much to do, or just chill and enjoy the peace of nature. We did both. Our hosts provided us with their contact number and I'm happy to say we had no need to call. Thank you both for sharing this great retreat.
Perfect cabin to watch the river go by
Coleen and John's cabin is a wonderful, peaceful place to relax and enjoy the river. The cabin itself is wonderfully equipped, very clean and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. The fresh flowers and bottle of wine were a wonderful surprise. Each day I would find something new in or around the cabin that I didn't noticed the day before. It is the perfect place to wake up and enjoy that first cup of coffee in the morning. There are multiple convenient stores, sub shop, pizza and restaurants within walking distance. Overall it was a perfect hideaway for our vacation.
Relaxing getaway from the city
After a brutally hot and noisy summer in the city It was so nice to get away and enjoy this peaceful cabin. When my wife and I arrived we immediately knew we had made the right decision. There were fresh cut flowers on the porch and in the dining area, there's an awesome hammock overlooking the water, and a nice dock to sit with your feet in the water.
There are a canoe and kayaks available. Paddling on this part of the hudson is more like paddling on a lake than a river. However I found it's a bit easier to paddle near the far shore as there's not as much wind and the current is slower. It also keeps you out of the path of the wave-runners and motorboats which will occasionally speed through. Be aware that hauling the canoe from the rack to the water can prove difficult for some. I recommend two people for this exercise.
Queensberry, NY is about a 20-30 minute drive from the cabin and they have everything you might want. There's a Hanaford, and walmart, etc.. There's also a gift shop worth stopping at called "Back Home Styles For Living Country Store"
The nights at the cabin are very quiet and peaceful. I slept like a log every night.
The biting insects at this time of year were virtually non existent. I think I saw maybe 3 mosquitos the entire week.
All in all it was a great week and a great place to stay.
Thanks so much!
Quaint and quiet with absolutely beautiful views of the Hudson.
My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Cozy Camp. The house was stocked with all the essentials and I enjoyed all the antiques and other decor around the house. Our favorite items were the wooden tic-tac-toe game and the bear toilet paper dispenser. Having coffee in the morning and a glass of wine (gracious left for us by Colleen and John)at sunset overlooking the water was spectacular. The location was perfect for us. Far enough to provide a peaceful retreat, but close enough to Lake George, Glens Falls, and Queensbury for some our daily outings. We encourage you to rent this property without hesitating. It was perfect for our family of 4.
