The house is a deck house built in 1972 with electric heat and lots of windows. The second level (split entry) is the main living level of the house and features an open floor plan which includes the living room, dining room, large kitchen, and study. Off the dining room and living room are sliding glass doors to a wrap around deck for morning and evening enjoyment. Two bedrooms are located on this floor with one of the two full baths. The downstairs has the remaining bedrooms, full bath, and a family/playroom that has a slider to the pond side of the property.
The house is situated on a west facing slope with a short walk to the water front area. The acreage was landscaped into a golf course that while not fully maintained as such can still be an enjoyed for working on your short game (remember the house has lots of glass and keep balls out of the woods as neighbors also appreciate their privacy).
The water front is large and private with boat dock, swim float, fire pit, hammock, beach chairs and boat house that can be used as a private bunk house (has electricity for true roughing it). There a boats for use, sail boat, canoe, kayaks, life jackets. The pond water is very clean, deep, and spring fed.
We had a wonderful week in this beautiful home in Dublin!! My parents travelled from The Netherlands and there was plenty of room for all 12 of us (5 children and 7 adults).
The home is absolutely beautiful, the Lake was warm and we spend many hours swimming and boating. Even my daughter, who previously was afraid to go into a kayak, wanted to try and got over her fear!! We had beautiful weather the entire stay and enjoyed the amazing sunsets on the deck.
It was a peaceful ( as peaceful as it can get with 5 children under the age of 10) week, my parents loved the turkeys that came by through the yard every day. The children loved the WII game, air hokey and the huge amount of land, where we played baseball and kickball. The biggest hits where the fire pit and jumping of the landing in the water.....we also used the snorkel set we found in the boat house and saw the different fish in the lake.
The huge dinning room table was awesome, as we had breakfast and dinner together. Again, thank you for sharing your wonderful place with us, we have made unbelievable memories and hope to come back to your place in the future.
Anita and the rest of my family.
My family and friends (from as far away as England) have enjoyed vacations on the manicured, sloping 5 acres of this beautiful lakeside home for over 10 yrs. We have memories of great Summer fun served up in a classy Monadnock fashion. You can't beat this property if you're looking to get away from ... well, everything.
If you're looking for a great secluded setting on a pristine Southern NH lake, complete with a great abundant house (plenty of space and bedrooms), a lakeside dock complete with kayaks and canoes to paddle to the various settings on Stone Pond (the cove is my favorite) on warm Summer days, an evening BBQ on the spacious deck, followed by a marshmallow roast down by the lakeside fire pit, loons that call to you in the middle of your restful sleep in the cool Monadnock air — then press the 'rent' button now.
If you want a vacation in a house with internet wireless and all the cable channels that you don't really watch all of the rest of the year, move along to another rental. This place is about leaving it all behind and enjoying the nature that's around you.
And, no, you can't have our week — we've already rented it for this year (and the next). But good luck.
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home with me and my family. It is SO organized, clean, and well maintained... I have rented a few lake houses in the past, and your place is in a totally different league.
The weather could not have been better. It was hot enough Friday that we all wanted to swim, and we were pleasantly surprised at how warm the water was. I wondered if that's normal or just because we had such a steamy summer. We also used the kayaks and the fire pit, and we had many games of horseshoes. We considered the sailboat yesterday, but it was VERY windy and we have limited skills, so I chickened out. It was great that you had the card game Set, which we all enjoy. My greyhounds spent most of each day enjoying that wonderful porch, and we met the neighbor's nice German shepherd and golden retriever this morning.
The care that you and your family invest in the house really shows. I believe we left it at least as nice as we found it. If it were up to me, we'd make this an annual event. Because we are so spread out, that may not be possible for some of my siblings. Even if we can't make it next year, I would like to stay in touch because we all agreed that it would be a great place for future reunions.
