The condo was well laid out for 2 couples, kitchen was well stocked for cooking/baking, Kimberly was very friendly, and the location in Girdwood was close to everything. We would definitely stay again! The only item I would suggest is a bottle opener in the kitchen (unless we just missed it).
Awesome VRBO close to so much!
We loved this place. Stayed here in the summer and found it to be a great homebase to visit so much in Alaska. The furnishings were very well done and were very ski resort style. The master bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on in my life! The rooms were all very large (larger than the pictures seem) and everything was there you would need. We stayed with 3 children (10, 13,16) who shared the second bedroom and they had plenty of room! The bunk beds are huge and comfy! The kitchen was well equipped and there were plenty of clean, comfy towels in the bathrooms. The hot tub was clean and private on your deck surrounded by trees. The only negatives for us is that it was hot (records set in Anchorage for highs) and there is no A/C. They do have a few portable fans, but a couple more or some ceiling fans might be nice. But I'm sure 99% of the time you would not need them in Alaska and it was just unfortunate for us that it was so hot, so not to blame the VRBO. I bet this place would be an amazing place to stay in the winter for skiing as well. There is a covered parking spot which keeps your car secure as well as out of the elements. Also, we had a slight issue with the washer and the property manager came right away to help with it and the problem was resolved super quick ( and was our fault anyways:) So, great property manager as well.
Lastly, the location of this place is amazing! So much to do around here! I would recommend these things:
Winner Creek trail hike (there is a spot where you get to pull yourself over a gorge/river by hand tram!) about a 10 min drive
North Face Trailhead (hike up Mt. Alyeska to the top and take the tram back down for free....this is a hard hike!!!!! but well worth the views) about 5 min drive away
Sunny Cove Sea Kayaking in Seward (about 1.75 hours drive)
Ididaride summer dog sledding (about 1.5 hours drive)
Phillips Glacier Cruise in Whittier (about 35 min drive away but allow for time to go through tunnel)
Anchorage (about 45 min beautiful drive)
Exit Glacier (about 1.75 hour drive)
hike up to Byron Glacier and touch the snow (about 30 min drive)
the Alaska Conservation Center is like a 5-10 min drive from here (we didn't go there but I heard great things about it)
And I'm sure there is much much more....this will just start you off!
Beautiful property, I have stayed in this complex 4 times, this was my second stay in this unit. Great communication, very well stocked, no need to bring toiletries, they have you covered.
Great Location in Girdwood! We were close to everything in town. We never used our rental car. Just walked every where. Also nice little gem, they had two public tennis courts and a skate park nearby.
Property Manager, Kimberly was great answering at answering all our questions before and during.
The place itself was perfect, since we were there during the summer we had long days of daylight, however you could dim the shades so that it was dark enough to sleep. The condo was quiet and the hot tub was a huge plus. Would def stay there again.
Clean and nice
We have stayed here previously, it is always clean, neat and well stocked with kitchen utensils, as well. As linens and towels.
Best we've stayed at
We have stayed at many VRBOs over the years but this one stands out. Perfect location. Safe and secure apartment. Clean and well furnished. We were particularly impressed with all the kitchen extras. It even had extra condiments and cooking items that we were not expecting. But of course, the hot tub was the kids favorite! Kim, the manager, was great as well. She had a wealth of local knowledge to pass down. Make sure to do the short hike at Byron glacier, and Winner creek as well. If you don't want to do the round trip at Winner, there is a free city bus service that will pick you up at either side. Just check the time table.
Can't wait to come back for the skiing!
Very Conveniently Located in the Girdwood Town Square where there are several Restaurants nearby, as well as the Small local Grocery & Spirits Store. Close to great hiking, just walk outside it is all around you.
