We stayed at Rainbow Ranch, Mount Shasta during out Memorial day weekend with two other families and we had a fantastic time. It is like a resort with all the facilities. It looks very secluded and peaceful even though you are right there near I-5.
The highlight of the place was the view of the snow covered Mount Shasta. It was simply superb. You just wake up from the bed and have the pristine view. What a sight, it just makes your day. Once you are in the backyard, the mountain seems so close that you feel you could just walk to the base of the mountain.
Also Deborah was a fantastic host and went ouf of her way to make us feel comfortable. Its very hard to fine such customar service.
I would recommend this place 10 out of 10 times to anyone who wants to enjoy a peaceful time with friends and family.
We have enjoyed a really lovely long stay (8 weeks) at Rainbow Ranch. The house is beautiful with so much space, and to have Mt Shasta and Black Butte virtually "in the garden" was such a bonus. And whilst we used the place as a quiet retreat, you are still close enough to the town to enjoy all that it offered.
We enjoyed seeing the wildlife in the back garden, with birds, deer, lizards and the tiniest frog we've ever seen. And Sam the dog made a habit of coming around to make sure we were in every night :))
Thank you Debbie for all your help when we needed it. Everything was dealt with promptly, but we also had the privacy we required as well. (And we loved the ping pong as well........ ).
The home is beautiful and so is the view. It's spacious, beautifully decorated, and very well kept. Deborah the owner was extremely kind and helpful. Everything worked great from the water to the jacuzzi. We were a large group and there were no problems. Well except that no one wanted to leave. We will definitely go back.
My daughter had her dream wedding at this beautiful home last weekend. The views are incredible. The house is awesome, and very well maintained. Plenty of room for my entire family and best friend. Debbie was incredibly attentive to all of our needs. Needed extra trash cans; had them in minutes. A light bulb burned out during the reception outside; Debbie was on a ladder changing it within minutes. I've attended a wedding here before and would highly recommend it to others. We are already talking about renting it yearly for a family reunion. My daughter called her wedding weekend perfect, which is what it's all about. Thanks so much Debbie for helping make that happen!
My husband and I hosted our wedding here and it was incredible.
The house is beautiful and immaculate and the backyard provides the most spectacular views of Mount Shasta.
It rained on our wedding day so we rented a huge 30' x 60' tent and it more than fit in the backyard!
Debbie was very accommodating by letting us come in a little early, leave later, and tons of trash cans were provided.
We picked the perfect place to have our perfect wedding!
I am writing in regards to the negative review of the most recent review. I just have to say I have seen this home and it is very nice and for the price it is very reasonable especially for its location. The view of the beautiful Mt. Shasta from all the windows facing it is amazing. There must of been a lot of people to run all the water out and that is what it sounds like to me is what caused the well to malfunction and it does take a lil while to fill back up even after being fixed. But I may be wrong and of coarse I wasn't there.
It is my regret to have to write a negative review for this property. I have never written a negative review for anything but I would like to make sure others do not have the same experience that we did. I will try and keep this brief. In general the property is beautiful but not well maintained. 1) During our stay we found multiple huge (football sized) hornets nest on the house. Two of our guests were stung. 2) The Jacuzzi was warm but not hot and smelled foul. We chose not to use it. 3) There was an runner on the staircase that was loose and a section was broken and turned upside down. The nails that held it down were turned upwards. One of our guest stepped on the nail with bare feet. 4) There was a old rusty carburetor and various auto parts behind the jacuzzi. In all we accepted these issues, even went to the trouble of buying hornet spray and taking care of the nests. But on the 4th night of our stay the water ran out. The next morning the water came back up briefly and then went out again. No showers for anyone. Well had somehow failed. Obviously stuff happens, so we called the owner and were told it would be fixed. We went about our day. Upon returning we were told the problem was fixed and the water was fine. And it was for about 2 hours, at which point the water went out again before anyone could take showers. So, some of our guests had been unable to take showers for 2 days. The next morning we informed the owner that we were leaving. She begged us to stay, but my guests were already leaving and we honestly had had enough. With water out going on the 3rd day we were done. All of this was fine with us, the problem is when we asked for our money back for the day that we were without water and the the 2 remaining days after we left we were told that no refund would be given. For a place that was charging top $$$, I was shocked and still am quite honestly. I have literally rented hundreds of places and this is the first time I have ever experienced anything like this. When I protested, very politely, I was informed that more communication would be forwarded to the owners lawyer. WOW! STAY CLEAR!
