We had a great time. Both my children enjoyed fishing and just playing in the outdoors. Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful home.
Six of us stayed in the camp in Mid- February. Overall we had a very pleasant experience. Maine had just gotten 3 feet of snow. The driveway was well plowed with plenty of parking.
One down side - we were not told we needed a shovel to get into the house.
Luckily we always travel with a shovel in the winter. Had to shovel out 3 feet deep snow about 6 feet back to get to door (no shovel inside). This is an easy fix if they provide a shovel or let guests know what to expect upon arrival.
We would have been out of luck if we didn't bring our own.
Had to turn heat on when we got there which was not that big of a deal since the camp heated up quickly.
Traditional comfortable Maine camp with some nice rustic touches.
Good ice fishing.
My husband and I plus another couple stayed here for a weekend in October when we attended a wedding. The house was very comfortable (good heating system if you visit in the fall/winter) and has a great common area/living room where everyone can hang out. We enjoyed drinking coffee on the back deck each morning while gazing at the lake, and I would love to come back some time when it is warm enough to enjoy the water, dock, and fire pit. The house is about a 10 minute drive to town, where you can poke around in shops, cafes, and the local brewery. We will be back!
My friends and I stayed here for the weekend while attending a wedding at the Granite Ridge Estate. We had a wonderful time and were able to enjoy the lake, the canoes, the dock and the fire place. This home was just minutes away from the wedding venue and worked out perfectly for us. There was plenty of space for everyone and offered a very homey atmosphere for a fall weekend in Maine. The owner was very helpful and responsive to e-mail and text message. Highly recommended place to stay!
Heaven on Earth... Peaceful, pristine, perfect for the vacation get-away I so desperately needed. Next year I hope to return for a whole week! Thank you James D for making this available for people to enjoy.
What a great place to get away! The whole process was very easy and the owner was very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. The place has just about everything you need and was in great shape. The fishing was tremendous and we must have caught close to a hundred fish over three days. Canoes provided get you around but, we caught a lot right from the dock...mostly bass. Enjoyed thoroughly and will stay again.
We couldn't be happier with choosing this particular property. The property is relatively private, has a large kitchen, separate dining and great size rooms to sleep a large group of people, including all adults! The fishing off of the doc early in the morning and in the evening was excellent and canoe fishing was certainly a bonus. My son caught 6 fish on our first day!
The dining room fits 6 at the table and at least 2 at the bar with ample extra seating. The deck is beautiful and everything was in great shape/working condition. Overall, this property has ample space with a cozy cabin feel! I'd love to experience it during the winter. Thank you to the property owner for renting out this well kept house as well as being so prompt with everything to set it up!
