Relax Relax Relax

  • 5 of 5

Though you typically may not consider going to a lake house with a plethora of outdoor activities in December we actually spent a lot of time outdoors because it was so beautiful and so unique. Just bundle up. The home was as advertised. It was large, it fit 12 people comfortably with room for more, Beautiful views, secluded, a great place to gather with family and friends. In addition, the owner was very responsive and genuine; he didn't feel like a stranger at all. We considered this place a hidden gem and we certainly intend on returning to this gem again.

Amazing backyard and fun for families

  • 5 of 5

The backyard is amazing and we spent the entire weekend outside either fishing, playing on the playground, playing football, basketball, tennis and spent our evenings at the firepit. It was a productive filled weekend for our kids and we comfortably slept five families of four. We would rent here again and the landlord was accommodating and even offered a late check out since there were no other families checking in after us. We did not want to leave and we intend to spend our annual family trips here going forward. We all talked about how the memories from this trip will forever be remembered for our family, so we will most definitely be back to keep it a tradition.

Deceptive Advertising

  • 1 of 5

The pictures of this home and property are clearly from the when the home was originally offered for rent. The home is not as advertised online. Beds sit on the floor, beddings are dry-rotted, the kitchen stove was filthy, dishes and kitchen items were in poor condition, the pier furnishings were disguisting including the furnishings outside of the house in the patio area, pillows had stains on them, lights in many rooms were not operative, exterior lights as well were not working, and lamps were broken. The home also smelled of smoke on the first level.

Owner's Response: Some of the issues were over-stated in this review, but certain items have been addressed. The home is thoroughly cleaned after each stay. Smoking is not permitted, so the home should not (and does not) smell like smoke. Maintenance issues, such as light bulbs and any broken items, are promptly addressed when management receives notice. Indoor and outdoor lighting is in working order. Kitchen items have been re-stocked since the date of this review, and bed linens have been replaced where necessary. Outdoor furniture is subject to a lot of wear and tear due to weather, but appropriate outdoor furniture is provided and replaced when necessary. We believe that you will find our home to be accurately represented in the pictures and descriptions contained on this site, and we are committed to providing an excellent vacation home experience for your family.

Just Perfect

  • 5 of 5

This was our first vacation to Lake Anna and we had an incredible time. The house was perfect and the backyard kept us busy the whole time. The kids loved fishing off the dock the best. We made full use of the amenities including the basketball/tennis court, volleyball court, and playground. Kids literally played for over 8 hours each day we were there. We even took the paddle boats out and with the water so calm, my small kids were able to take their first boat ride. We can't wait to come back and hopefully make use of the football field. The house overall was in excellent condition. There were some renovations going on on the deck area but it didn't affect our experience at all. We'll be here again next year

An almost perfect vacation

  • 5 of 5

Early in September my family of twelve, ages twenty-five to ninety, spent a long weekend at this property. We have been renting properties for the past twenty years for our annual family get-togethers, and of those located in the U.S., this one provided more on-site activities than any other that we have rented. The property itself is beautiful and well maintained. Oudoors,, we spent much of our time on the boat deck enjoying the water and making use of the paddle boat and kayaks, but also made full use of the tennis court, not for tennis, but for pickle ball. We did not make use of the other sport facilities, but were really impressed that the owner had provided all the equipment needed for the various sports-(-basketball, volleyball, football, tennis and pickle ball rackets, etc.) The only things not provided were golf clubs. Thus we were unable to use the putting greens. Indoors, we made good use of the pool table. The layout of the main living area, with living space, dining area, kitchen, and pool table all in one large room, made it easy for the whole family to hangout together. The dining table, unfortunately, was only large enough to seat eight, and on our first night four of us had to make do sitting on bar stools at the kitchen counter. However, the next morning the owner showed up and told us there was a folding table in one of the closets and extra chairs.

To our family, who are big into cooking, the kitchen was a delight. Two full-size refrigerators were a blessing not often found in rental properties, and there was plenty of counter-top space. The kitchen was well equipped with pots and pans and dishes. However, the frying pans were in pretty bad shape and the dishes and drinking glasses were hopelessly mismatched. Another area that could stand attention was the condition of the deck chairs, many of which need new webbing. These are minor flaws that can easily be corrected with a minimal expenditure. The owner has given so much thought into providing renters with everything for their enjoyment, it is a pity to have that pleasure diminished by these minor flaws. All that said, we enjoyed our stay immensely. It was one of the best domestic vacations we have had. I do not hesitate to recommend the place to families of all ages.
