Ithaca House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 4-6 with hot tub on deck, central AC/heat

Beautiful Cayuga Lakehouse available for weekly rentals in the summer and partial weeks available in the spring, fall, and winter.

Off-season (after Labor Day and before Memorial Day) the house is available for long-term rental or short stays. The house has been recently furnished. We are conveniently located 2 miles from Ithaca, N.Y. and is in a nice private, relaxing setting. We are located on the west shore of Cayuga Lake on Taughannock Blvd. just 3.5 miles from the Ithaca Commons and 5 miles from Cornell Campus and Ithaca College.

This is a modern house with a large deck featuring a hot tub overlooking Cayuga Lake. The hot tub is large and accommodates 4 people very comfortably. There are two patio tables with chairs and umbrellas and lounge chairs for relaxing outside. This house has 2 bedrooms, a large fully equipped kitchen with a brand new grill top Jenn Air stove, 2 full bathrooms, central air conditioning, and a spiral staircase.

The master bedroom has a queen sized bed, the second bedroom has 2 twin beds, and there is a queen sized pull-out couch in the living room. There are large closets in the bedrooms with hangers for your clothes as well as large dressers. You can hear the water lapping on the lakeshore from the bedrooms. The master bedroom has beautiful lake views. The living room has a large comfy chair with ottoman, couch, and recliner. There are bookcases with books for your use and a DVD library and board and card games for your enjoyment. The dining table is located in front of the large windows facing the lake. There is a built in oak desk. The kitchen features a vaulted ceiling, large counter tops for cooking, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, electric hot water kettle, blender, grill top stove for indoor grilling when the weather doesn't allow for outdoor barbecue use, cook and bakeware, dishwasher, ice maker, spices, and other staples. There is a mudroom for hanging up jackets and taking off wet shoes. The bathroom on the main floor off the living room has a stand up shower and a heat blower. The bathroom on the second floor has a full tub/shower, washer/dryer, and a heat lamp.

There are four kayaks and a canoe with paddles and life jackets available for tenant use. There is a small covered boathouse with some rafts, a mini fridge, and campfire wood. The pier has a firepit for nighttime fun. There are new lounge chairs and folding chairs for relaxing by the lake.

We have wifi high speed internet access and over 190 channels of cable TV and HBO movie channel and a DVR for pausing, rewinding, or recording your favorite shows during your stay. There is a brand new 42' flat screen TV with DVD player.

This is a family oriented neighborhood so no large parties or excessive noise allowed. Please contact us with any questions or if you would like to see more pictures of the house.

Please note: The access to the bedrooms on the second floor is via a spiral staircase. This may be difficult to navigate with infants and/or pets. The house is at the bottom of a steep driveway. In the winter the driveway is plowed as soon as possible. The driveway has been newly paved. Steps to the house and deck are cleared of snow prior to your stay. During the stay if it snows, shoveling is required. The driveway leads to a small shared parking area where we have two designated parking spots. Additional parking is available at the top of the driveway.

*IMPORTANT!* No trailers or boats are to be driven down the driveway. Trailers and boats can be parked in the parking area adjacent to the road at the top of the driveway.

A great way to experience fall on Cayuga Lake!

  • 5 of 5

Full disclosure - I am an Ithaca resident. I have a lovely country farmhouse and a boathouse up the lake. Two of my friends wanted to descend upon Ithaca at the most beautiful time of year to experience the foliage and the gorges. I wanted them to have a great time, and I wanted a fun "staycation" away from my responsibilities at home. We also wanted to stay close to town for the convenience of restaurants and shopping. This house was perfect. The booking process was quick and easy. Randall (whom I did not know previously) was very responsive. Everything was as promised and in perfect order. The house was *very* comfortable for the three of us. The kitchen was better stocked than any other vacation home I have rented. The lake access and view were amazing. The hot tub was so welcome after a long gorge hike. This house really made our mini "vacation." I will *definitely* book this house for out-of-town friends in the future.

Felt like home for family quality time

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here in August of 2014, and Randall allowed us to cram my whole family in--6 adults and 4 kids! It WAS close quarters, but that was all the better to enjoy the amenities with! My 7 year old who is addicted to video games, for example, could barely be forced inside. Everyone was so busy taking advantage of the swimming and kayaking, and piling in for a home cooked meal of local eats in the kitchen in the evening, and cozying up in the living room for movies, no one found any time for their typical bickering! We even had a "supermoon" in the time we were there, and the view of the city with the massive full moon shining off the lake was breathtaking. We roasted s'mores around the fire and enjoyed the peaceful sounds of the lapping waves on the boathouse. The house itself is far enough from the water, too, that we were at peace with having our toddler there, just putting up a gate to keep her on the deck and out of the water. There were so many amazing photo ops here, too, from the amazing lake view of Ithaca at night, to the little things like the ivy in the brick side yard. Beautiful foliage abounds, and the hot tub area is cozy and private.

The location is absolutely stellar; you can't get a house much closer to downtown with this kind of open water access, not to mention it's a super easy drive to Trumansburg to hike Taughannock Falls, or you can jump on the highway and tour the wineries like we did, needing only a half day to fully enjoy the whole Hector area circuit.

Everything you need is here, seriously, and much more that you didn't even think to hope for. I HIGHLY recommend this homey, comfy spot for anyone with ambitions of taking advantage of all this gorgeous region has to offer!

Best Mother's Day Yet!

  • 5 of 5

At the last minute, my husband and I decided to take our mother's on a wine trail weekend for Mother's Day. I was so thankful that Randall was able to accommodate us and our dogs so easily! The house was perfect for all of us and our dogs and the view was absolutely gorgeous! We didn't expect such a well maintained yet pet friendly rental. The location was right near the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail and every night we drank our new wines lakeside down by the fire pit. Randall was so easy to work with, even when we were running late to pick up the keys. Hope to spend another wine filled weekend there again soon!*

Amazing views, heartbroken to leave

  • 5 of 5

We stayed the last week in July and we couldn't have been luckier with the weather. The house is perfect size for our family of 5. The views from the living room are breath taking. It was sooo relaxing to sit on the deck and hear the water. The house is very close to neighbors on both sides but both parties were very friendly to us. The one house was doing some construction and that was loud some of the days. Randall was very easy to deal with and was available for any questions/issues during our stay. We hope to stay again next summer!!!

Incredible house, view and host!

  • 5 of 5

I have so many good things to say about our stay here for Christmas 2014.

First and foremost, Randall was friendly and welcoming and more than helpful. We had a small problem with the hot tub (our fault) on Christmas Day of all days, and he came over right away to fix it for us. I figure that's enough said, right? I was floored and grateful.

Second, the location is amazing. The house hangs on the side of the hill that hugs the lake. The view is beautiful. I wish I had better words, in fact. In the morning, hundreds of birds float down the middle of the lake, which is otherwise a sheet of glass. This is the view you wake up to in the master bedroom. The hot tub is on a porch that overlooks it all, and I can't image a season when that is not just perfect.

Third, the house is set up and stocked for any activity - canoes (we took one out in the dead of winter), kayaks, BBQ, a picnic table by the lake, deck chairs, a fire pit, even tiki lights!

I almost want to keep this place a secret so it's available for me to rent again and again. But Randall was just too good to us not to gush about it to others! Please visit, it's worth it in every way.
