Our casa is a 2 bedroom with a small loft... it accommodates up to 6 guests.
We are located in a secluded section of the Nosara nature preserve, only a short walk to the beautiful beaches of Pelada and Guiones (3-4 minute walk to Pelada, approximately 300 meters; and 10-minute walk to Guiones). Several restaurants are all also within walking distance, including two of the only restaurants on the beach and a great pizza place.

Some notes to our guests...
Please be respectful of our community's limited resources and conserve your water and energy use as much as possible.
Nosara sources its water from a modern well system. This sometimes results in lower water pressure throughout the town as we approach the end of the dry season and wait for the rains that begin to arrive in mid April or May.
Please use the recycling receptacles located throughout town, or at the very least please separate your recyclables so that our cleaning staff can get them recycled when you check out.
Be aware that petty theft can occur in beach towns of Costa Rica. We ask our guests not to leave items unattended on the beach, inside of your car (even if locked) or out over night on the patios. We want you to have a pleasant, restful and uneventful vacation.
Over the years we have added additional layers of security to our property. We have a 24 hour monitored alarm system. We also contract with Pacific Security to participate in the Playa Pelada security patrol program (6 AM to 6 PM). At various intervals throughout the evening, our home is discretely checked in on by the patrol team.
At the request of our past guests, we began including 2 nights of onsite dinnertime security for all weekly rentals, booked at posted rates, that are less than a one month stay. This service is also available to our guests staying one month or more (for an additional charge). Note that this service is not included in our posted monthly rates.
(1) Occupancy Tax :: Effective for bookings made after October 1st, 2016 a 13% occupancy tax is applied to rentals less than 21 nights of stay, as required by Costa Rican law. Stays of 21 nights or more will not be subject to the occupancy tax. All estimated HomeAway, VRBO and VacationRentals quotes will include the 13% tax -- We will remove this from your quoted rate in our response to your inquiry, should your requested dates meet the 21 night minimum long term stay requirement.
(2) "Book it Now" option :: HomeAway and its affiliates (VRBO, VacationRentals, ....) recently added a "small service fee" charged to guests for all properties booked using their "Book it Now" option -- the fee is paid to/kept by HomeAway, not property owners. The service fee is only charged if you wish to use their "Book it Now" option and is a sliding percentage of the total amount due for a rental property (up to 9% of the total w/ a lower percentage charged as the price of the rental increases -- meaning, the higher the rental fee, the lower the service fee %). In the interest of full disclosure, we feel it is best to be up front about this fee, so that our potential guests may properly evaluate all of the options we offer in booking our casa de la playa. Thank you for understanding that this fee is beyond our control.
I grew up in Northern Virgina, my wife grew up in Northern California. We both grew up in towns called Fairfax... Just on opposite sides of the United States... Too funny!

We fell in love with Costa Rica on our first trip back in 2001 and knew that we wanted to someday retire to the area. In the years that followed, we continued to travel to different parts of the country, always on the hunt for 'our town', believing only that we would know it when we came across it. In 2007 we stumbled into Nosara... we had found it!
We take pride in our little casa and feel that it looks as good now as the day it was completed. This is no easy task in the jungles of Costa Rica! We want our guests to enjoy their stay, which is why we try our best to get to know them during the inquiry and booking process and are happy to answer any questions related to our home, the surrounding area or Costa Rica in general. Your comfort is our number one priority.
Our home is walking distance to both Playa Pelada and Guiones. The street on which we are located, while close to all is extremely private and to describe it best -- Off the beaten path. The location embodies everything that we love about Costa Rica. Oh yeah, our secluded location allows for troops of howler monkeys to frequent the trees above our pool... Very cool!
This house is walking distance to the beach, some great restaurants, and a couple of small markets for picking up odds and ends. A very private setting -- Property and pool are well kept. Owner and managers were very accommodating and easy to work with. Planning the same week for next year.
Wonderful location, great pool and accommodations. Staff from Mango was very friendly however wifi was out, dvd player was broken and so was the blender. This didn't matter since we had plenty to do and see. Pool and house are lovely and Playa Pelada is great! This place would be great for a family. We went with just my wife and I and had a blast.
Great place, awesome pool. Walking distance to everything Pelada has to offer, yet secluded and private. The owner was quick to respond to our questions and the property manager made checkin and out a breeze. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this place to anyone planning a trip to Nosara. My wife and I were in Nosara for only four days, really too bad our stay wasn't longer. We enjoyed our entire trip through Costa Rica but found ourselves particularly fond of this little beach community. In comparison of the more developed towns we visited, Pelada and Guiones just had more of an all around relaxed surf vibe going on. A feeling that was very much present in design and decor of this house… Secluded, well maintained and a peaceful. The first day we were here we only ventured off to get groceries, the rest of the time we spent by the pool just taking in the sun, reading and enjoying some imperials. And yes, the monkeys did come to just above the pool as another reviewer mentioned. We had a great time and hope to be back.
Hola! We just had a short stay at Los Pericos and it was wonderful. Every part of the process was smooth and easy, thanks to the property owner Kevin and his property manager Agnes. They both went out of their way to accommodate me and to answer all of my many questions. Agnes picked me up from the other place I was staying in town and drove me to the house to give me the keys and drop off my luggage, and kindly offered to drive me BACK into town again so I could make a yoga class. This was so helpful.
The house itself was equipped with everything you will need for a perfect stay. You don't need to buy coffee filters- the coffee maker doesn't need them and there are plenty there left over from other renters.
The house is beautiful- the pictures do not do it justice!
If you are looking for something off the beaten path that is quiet, where you can hear the howler monkeys and see the stars, with very little traffic around, then this is the place for you. It was a short 5 min walk to my favorite restaurant La Luna, and to the beach. The only thing that is not in walking distance (comfortably) is a grocery store. There is a super mini in town, about a 15 min walk, but I chose to take a taxi to the Super Nosara where everything is cheaper and you won't pay beach prices. The taxi was $30 USD to take me there, wait, and bring me home and helped unload my groceries.
The only thing that could possibly have made the house and pool more perfect is if the pool was saltwater instead of chlorine. I know that this is initially more expensive, but I have read that over time it costs about the same. This of course is a personal preference and nothing that would ever deter me from staying here again.
Bottom line, the house is beautiful, comfortable, luxurious, and in a great quiet location. Kevin and Agnes are wonderful and so easy to work with. My security deposit was returned the day after I checked out. Do yourself a favor and stay at Los Pericos. You will not want to leave!
Decided to make our way to Nosara for a few days based upon what a couple we met in Samara had said. Went online and came across "Los Pericos" and managed rent it for 3 days last minute. My advice — Stay here, you'll be happy!
Note to the owner, thanks for working with us on such short notice. My only suggestion is that you post some additional photos of your place. The ones you have are good, but I don't think they do it full justice. Hope to make it back here someday, thanks again.

The HomeAway Damage Protection Policy is only offered/required for guests that plan to rent our surfboards. This allows us to provide you with the rental and not require a prohibitive security deposit and/or place an additional hold on your credit card.
