This just newly restored small studio condo is in the heart of the Historic District. This property was build in 1858 . The studio has a custom new kitchen with granite, warm heart pine flooring.
Walk to College of Charleston, MUSC, and shopping district . The unit has a new kitchen with stove, microwave, frig, and washer/dryer. Extra sleeping available with twin pull out sleeper. We keep 2 bikes there for guest to use for free. Great way to explore the city.
We enjoyed our stay in Charleston. Took advantage of Historical Tours. Accommodations were OK, don't plan to ride the bikes available they are all rusty and not in good riding condition. While there the Internet was not working, it was arranged to be fixed but we had to loose a morning waiting for the repairman. After our departure wenoticed I had left a good pair of sandals, spoke to the owner he said he would return them by mail to us. After four months and many a contact with him, he has not returned them to us! If this is any indication of how he operates his rental, we would not recommend his trustworthiness!
This is a small studio apartment, which the owner makes readily clear when booking. We treated it like a hotel room and when you think of it as such you can't beat it. Great location a block away from free shuttle service that takes you to the visitors center where you can take advantage of other free shuttles. We only took our car out one day while down there and moved around the city for free. The off-street parking was also a huge benefit as parking in Charleston is a bear. It is also only a few blocks from the Interstate so getting in and out of the city is a breeze.
If your goal in visiting is to see the city and be on the go then this is the perfect spot, ideal for a couple. We had issues with WiFi and the owner got back to us within an hour to help us with our issue. The apartment was clean and comfy for 2 in a nice neighborhood. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. It is a great home base to explore an amazing city.
This cozy apartment was perfect for my husband and I. It was as described in the listing and the pictures give an accurate view of the place. We found it to be very clean. We stayed for six nights so the well stocked kitchen, clothes washer, and dryer were a big plus. We were traveling on a budget so we cooked all but one breakfast in (which we ate at the Hominy Grill around the corner, it is very good by the way!) and kept picnic food in the fridge to take on outings. When we did eat out we enjoyed Home Team BBQ and Toast. We liked the location of the apartment in a safe quiet neighborhood next to the medical school. The assigned parking spot was great as parking is generally very difficult in Charleston. We therefore also enjoyed that the apartment was within walking distance of much of the restaurants and activities. The property owner gave great customer service by answering all our emails and phone calls very promptly. This place had everything we needed: good air conditioning, a place to sit outside and drink coffee in the morning, towels, extra toiletries, cable tv, Wi-Fi, and a comfortable bed. We would recommend this place to other couples. There are lots of fun things to do in and around Charleston. Those we enjoyed most were: Spiritline Cruises dinner cruise, market st., walking the Broad street historical neighborhood, the Black Fedora comedy mystery theater, the beach at Sullivan's island, and Middleton Place plantation.
This pied-a-terre is small but has everything that is needed for a stay in Charleston including a washer and dryer (bring your own soap). Not a lot of space to spread out but a comfortable place to relax after walking all day.
We enjoyed the small deck at night while listening to the frog song from across the street. You can walk to King Street where there are lots of bars and restaurants and the condo is just around the corner from Hominy Grill and the free bus to the visitor’s centre.
Great spot in historic Charleston for an amazing price. 20 min walk to King St, but there are several restaurants and things around the unit if you don't want to walk or drive. Hominy Grill was excellent (the patio was perfect!),and Sunrise Express was good and cheap for breakfast - both right around the corner.
Definitely a studio but since we were out sight-seeing a lot the small space was just fine - especially for the great price. Thanks Jerry, would definitely return!
The apartment was small but as advertised. It was quiet, reasonably clean, and came with a parking spot. We felt safe there. We were able to walk all over the historic district and only used our car when going for a plantation tour. The owner was not on site, but was readily available to answer questions. Two good restaurants were within 2 blocks and offered scrumptious breakfasts. I would recommend this rental if you are going to spend most of your time sight seeing, otherwise you could feel slightly cramped.
