We were last minute bookers on a holiday weekend with two couples, two smaller kids and four dogs. Chris returned my email/call quickly with in inviting voice that had all the right answers for us to stay. He called the morning of our travels to answer any last minute questions and get our ETA so the cottage would be perfect and someone would be there to show us in and around. Chris met us with a comforting smile in the little parking lot on his ATV. Greeting us all individually like he has know us forever. He explained the breath taking, quaint property layout and showed us to our cottage. They were frequently on the grounds and happy to say
'hi' and to share everything. They heated up their hot tub for us to enjoy which was an amazing experience. It was a custom rock hot tub which held all six of us with lots of room to spare. I have never seen anything like it, ever. Jacquie was a sweetheart and gave some cat food to the kids to feed to the peacocks. They came and ate right out of their little hands. She even had a baby chicken hatch while we were there. The kids saw it cracking the eggs to get out and later got to hold the little chick. I can't say enough about the Robinson's and their unique get-a-way. Thank you Chris and Jacquie for a memorable stay! Smiles - Lin
Had a great time. Relaxing, friendly and in a great spot. As "hotel vacationers" this was a new experience. We'll work hard to find more properties and great people like the Robinsons on future vacations! I could write a book about hanging out with the animals, the canyon views, being surrounded by art.. but will just say it was pleasant, comfortable and relaxing.
My husband and I are in search for a place to retire and wanted to explore Sedona. I chose this rental for the quiet picturesque setting; perfect for us because we were traveling with our small dog. I was not disappointed. The charm of our cottage and the surrounding property were perfect after we had spent much of our day hiking the Sedona trails. Owners Jacquie and Chris Robinson were endearingly charming and did everything to ensure our stay was comfortable and relaxing. AND, while there, one MUST inquire about the Hummer tour into the Hopi Community. Chris leads you on a spiritual journey that touches the lives of the most gentle, loving and wonderful people you will ever have the opportunity to meet. Chris' knowledge and respect for his friends among the Hopi are invaluable to your own personal enrichment. My husband and I will definitely be guests of Jacquie and Chris one day again. I hope sooner, rather than later. Our pup was welcomed with open arms, too!
Chris and Jackie were great! The property is excellently located to nearby sight-seeing venues, yet private and quiet enough for relaxation. And it's also absolutely beautiful!
We took my 89 yr. old mom, teenager and preteen, hubby and I to this delightful place. We weren't there to sightsee too much, just to relax and it was wonderful. We did make it up to Jerome, the ghost town, and thank you to Chris for telling us to continue past the town up to the Real ghost town. Well worth the trip!
The beds upstairs are in a loft, so all noise from below does travel up there. We use a sound machine and found that to be perfect. If you have knee issues, the ladder is tricky but doable. The bathroom is situated between the main floor and the upstairs, making it less than perfect but again.. doable.
Hubby and I spent most of our nights , outside, down by the creek or at the firepit, enjoying alone time and the beautiful surroundings. Mr. Man, our dachshund, was thrilled and we were happy that the owners understood that doggies can miss their parents and his "hey look" barking wasn't a problem.
We visited over the Memorial Day weekend and were so blessed to have great weather.
This property is located outside of Sedona which is exactly why we chose it! Close enough but away from it all. It was very handy to have the "dollar" store very close, as well as a gas station and little market. Don't buy your food in Sedona. Go to Cottonwood and check out the town. We loved it. Some very funky places!
Cannot say enough . Go and enjoy!
My boyfriend and I enjoyed a short stay in Cornville at this lovely, peaceful and spacious cabin. Chris and Jacquie are such wonderful hosts, love dogs, and effortlessly coordinated with us during the reservation process and the day before we arrived which was very helpful. They live on site and there are a couple of other cabins on the grounds, all well maintained. Plenty of parking.
The cabin had everything we needed to lounge, prepare light meals, and rest. I can’t wait to come back! We especially appreciated the wine glasses, wine opener, paper products, the big comfy sofa and soft sheets. The hotplates were perfect for boiling water for warm beverages although we could have just as easily used the microwave. Plenty of closet space and shelves to store your belongings. Bring your own toiletries. The cabin is a little different from the pictures in that the big table with leather chairs has been replaced with a queen bed, which is great for people who can’t or don’t want to climb up the stairs. There’s also a glass dining table there which is convenient for sit down meals. Internet access was limited due to a weak signal but we weren't there to surf anyway.
We lucked out in that the heaviest snow the area had seen in decades came down on New Year’s Eve, the day before we arrived. Our 3 dogs were thrilled!!! They had so much fun romping around in the snow, swimming in the creek (brrrr) and generally enjoying being with us on our little holiday getaway. There was a female peacock that hung out right in front of the kitchen window the whole time we were there even though our dogs kept barking at her. We also enjoyed the presence of an elegant heron out by the creek and I also saw a kingfisher.
The cabin is extremely close to 3 wineries so you don’t have to go far if that’s your thing. There are a handful of great restaurants within a few miles that were highly recommended but we didn't get to try. Manzanita’s was closed for a few weeks’ holiday and Harry’s Hideaway was closed on New Year’s Day and booked the next. So we get to come back! The Grasshopper Grill was a really tasty alternative though; try the drunken shrimp! The Javalina Leap winery has a wonderful selection of afternoon noshing fare; cheeses, veggies and hummus, gourmet pizzas, stuffed mushrooms (not your typical shrooms, these were gourmet!).
We highly recommend this property for you and your 4 legged friends.
