My family (me, wife, 17-year old son and his friend) had the good fortune of choosing this property for our week-long stay on the lake this year. The location was great, right on the lake next to the Jet Express terminal and close to a pretty cool downtown scene. Only minutes from everything we wanted to see, including Cedar Point. The condo was roomy (2 king beds+….plenty big for 6 people), clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. We used the pool and hot tub several days, and the presence of a roaming security staff on the weekends was a nice touch to make everyone feel safe and secure. The people were a mix of residents and renters, and the residents were very friendly and helpful, which is not always the case from my experience. We had a minor issue with the keys when we arrived but we were able to reach Steve the owner right away and he handled it quickly.
This area of Sandusky was great, lots of terrific restaurants, coffee shops, consignment/antique/knick-knack shops, live music on the weekend, plus a nice walk along the lake. The dockside restaurant next door had great burgers and fresh walleye tacos, and Crush Winebar and Restaurant had a ton of great small plates for sampling…..so good we ate there twice.
We couldn’t have asked for anything more, and we will certainly be checking here first before booking our lake trip for next year.
Our family of 6 (my parents, my husband & I with our 11 year old daughter and 2 year old son) spent 6 days at this lovely location. The owner,Steve, was very helpful and always responded to calls/texts/emails quickly during the entire process. We found the property to be exactly as described and it was in close proximity to Cedar Point, shopping and both Great Wolf Lodge and Kalahari Resorts. It was very clean, nicely decorated and so welcoming that there was plenty of food in the refrigerator. Of course, we did not disturb it, but it did initially make us feel like we were intruding and that they would return at any moment even though we'd contracted to be there. There were a few very minor maintenance issues, however the one that was most troublesome was that the entry lock was extremely hard to operate and it always took a good amount of time to lock or unlock the door after a lot of manuevering. I would NOT recommend this property for families with toddlers because both the balcony and condo unit doors are very easy to unlock and open. Our 2 year old wandered into the building hall way while we were all in the living room because, even when locked, the door will open when you turn the handle. Outside of that, the unit is great for most demographics of renters (couples, girls/guys retreat, families with older kids, etc). We met a mix of permanent residents and other vacationers on the property and almost everyone was extremely friendly. The weather was really bad our first few days in Sandusky and we even spent the second day hiding from a tornado in the local JC Penney at the mall, so if you are not from the midwest I'd suggest that you get familiar with what a tornado siren sounds like because with us being from NY and now living in NC, we'd never heard one and didn't recognize it for what it was when it sounded. All in all, it was a wonderful six days and we would definitely recommend this property to anyone we know traveling to this area.
My husband and I rented this condo during a week in October and it was absolutely amazing! From the beginning, we felt at home. What put this condo over the top is that the owners put so much time and effort in decorating---no corner is left undone! We stayed for a week and our grandchildren came the last two days and they absolutely loved the twin beds in the loft! It was so children-friendly--they even were able to play video games on the television in the room. The condo was even decorated for Halloween! So much time, so much energy was invested--the owners actually stay there sometimes so it's evident they didn't just buy the condo to rent it out. Very close to the water---beautiful serene atmosphere! Convenient to Cedar Point! A big thank you to the owners!
