Prime property with spectacular views:
Romantic, rustic home that sleeps 8+ with 2.5 baths on two floors. 3 private bedrooms on the 2nd floor and 1 master King on the 1st floor with spectacular views. Property is located in the heart of Keuka Lake's prestigious east side, highlighting morning coffee sunrises from oak Adirondack chairs at the end of the dock, and spectacular sunsets from any of the several deck levels including the spacious 100' dock that juts out into the lake facing the magnificent and photogenic Bluff. The Lake House is completely furnished and offers 180-degree all-glass views from a combo sun room/dinning room/master BR and a romantic glass-faced, gas-fired fireplace in the living room, all amid a golden-age cottage look-and-feel, surrounded by a few antiques and memorabilia items from that wonderful age.
I am a Global Yacht Delivery Captain but born and raised in the Keuka Lake area. I have lived in many parts of the USA and traveled extensively throughout the world. I have seen many wondrous places in my travels, but the one true place I love more than any other, and the one place I will always call home, is "No Such Place" on gorgeous Keuka Lake.
Keith Clark purchased this house in 1981
Keuka Lake is magical all year long but particularly so in the summer! Hammondsport on Keuka Lake is the source of the USA's first registered winery and now has nearly 20 fantastic and romantic wineries all around the lake. Harvest time is uniquely festive and fun for all and this happens spontaneously within the beauty of the incredible surrounding hills and fall foliage, a treat for the spirit and soul each and every year!
Location, Location, Location is the key to real estate, as they say, and 'No Such Place' fit's that phrase perfectly since it is ideally situation on the lake with strategic access by road and water to all of the key surrounding towns. The 3-branch and bluff views from the property in summer, spring, winter or fall are mesmerizing and soothing for one's spirit, and simply amazing for one's eyes to behold. Needless to say, a great place to bring your camera...!
My husband and I live in the Cleveland area and we both have two jobs and therefore virtually no life it seems away from home. But, we have been talking for about two years about going to Keuka Lake again, where we had first met at the famous Switzerland Inn. We finally took the plunge and signed up for a 2-Night stay at, "No Such Place," which is located less than a half mile from where we first met at the Switzerland Inn.
We had SUCH A GOOD TIME at NO SUCH PLACE!!! There are almost no words to describe it. We cried with joy as we saw the same view of the incredible Bluff, had breakfast at Artisan's Bakery in quaint and wonderful Hammondsport, the lunch and an incredible tour at Bully Hill. (Best Brunch EVER!). Dinner of course the first night at the Switzerland Inn but the next night we had an incredible dinner at the Bistro on the Hammondsport Square!!! We highly recommend all these places.
It was November and the trees were past peak, but still so wonderful. The sky was blue and the air cool but we rented Kayak's at Reagan's for $25 per day!!! We thought that was an awesome value. (Call them or check out their web site at reaganskayak). We did a couple of wine tours on Keuka Lake but also did a FRISKY Wine Tour on nearby Seneca Lake. Both Awesome. Oh, did I mention that we kept calling the owner to ask for "Just one more day"? We did this 3 days in a row...lol and then ran out of excuses as to why we couldn't go back to work! Hope our employers are not reading this...hahahaha...
Thank you Keuka Lake, thank you No Such Place, thank you wonderful owner who's name I probably shouldn't mention here! We took away more than just wonderful memories, and we'll be back again soon!
We had a great time at this lake house. It was in a great location, easy to get to wineries and breweries on Keuka lake and Seneca lake. Close to Watkins Glen. The view was beautiful and the weather was just warm enough for us to enjoy the back deck. There were three couples in our party and having 2 1/2 baths was great. We used two of the three bedrooms upstairs and it was nice to have the half bath up there. My in-laws had the bed downstairs and it was nice for them not to need to use the stairs.
We enjoyed our stay at No Such Place. The weather was not the most cooperative, but we did fit in some kayaking and a bonfire with s'mores. During this same weekend there was an annual wine festival at Hunt Country Vineyards and so we enjoyed that, as well as tasting other wines and visiting other breweries in the area.
The kitchen was certainly well stocked with appliances, dishes, and cookware. We we're a large group and there was good gathering space for us all.
Keith was always quickly responsive to all of my inquiries, a gracious host. We had a great weekend!
We were very happy at No Such Place. The location is perfect and the house is comfortable and relaxing. My wife slept until 8:30 she was so relaxed. Kids loved their own rooms, fishing, and riding our rental boat. We will be back.
I was looking for a place to stay in the Finger Lakes region and came across this rental which was just perfect. My husband and I stayed three nights in this charming and cozy cottage which was located right on Keuka Lake. The fall foliage around the lake was breathtaking and it was right outside our front windows!
“No Such Place” is the perfect space to spend a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of your normal routine. The weather was phenomenal and we were able to spend a great amount of our time outdoors. We sat out on the front porch enjoying the views, hiking in Watkins Glen State Park (just a short drive from the cottage), and exploring the cute little town of Hammondsport. On the one rainy day we spent a nice day indoors cooking in the fully equipped kitchen, playing board games, and watching movies on the nice HD TV. With the heat on and the sound of the rain, we sipped coffee and relaxed the day away!
The owner and neighbors were very friendly and also very helpful with winery and restaurant suggestions. We went to a few of the wineries on the Keuka Lake Wine Trail and had a great time exploring that area. Some of the wineries are even within walking distance of the cottage which was very convenient!
Lastly, we watched the sunset while swinging on the porch swing on the lower level of the house and sipped some local wine that we had purchased. There is a great fire pit on the shore but we didn’t get to use it on this trip. All in all, it was the perfect romantic getaway for a couple who really needed it! Five star place!
Our family enjoyed a 5 night stay at "No Such Place" at the peak of harvest time. We brought our kayaks and enjoyed paddling the clear warm waters under beautiful blue skies.
The neighbors were friendly, a plus with renting. The fish were biting...another plus. Loved being able to see both sunrise and sunset from the cottage...a huge plus! We tried out the two world class restaurants on the square in Hammondsport that the knowledgeable and friendly owner recommended and we were pleased both times.
We were also able to cook several meals in the old but fully functioning, fully equipped kitchen. Love the classic sink and natural gas stove. It was nice to have a dishwasher as well!
We mostly took our meals on the sunporch picnic table or the beautiful dock. Our children loved diving into the clean clear waters and my husband and I enjoyed the comfort and convenience of the two boat lifts(we brought our new 25ft boat). There are also two jet ski lifts we hope to use on our next visit.
We would highly recommend No Such Place and hope to stay there again next year.
My wife and I were looking for a quiet and comfortable stay in the heart of New York wine country and “No Such Place” did not disappoint. We had a fantastic time at this cozy, clean and quaint cottage with a gorgeous view of the natural wooded scenery as well as Keuka Lake right out the main window!
When we weren’t drinking coffee on the great back porch or sitting on the dock gazing at the beautiful water, we found lots to do just down the road. We did some biking in the area and walked down to the Switz one night (had a great time). We also took a couple of quick trips into Hammondsport and loved looking at all the old houses and visiting the different pubs for food and spirits.
Perhaps the best part of this area are the numerous wineries where we did tastings and even a delicious brunch! Our favorite spot was Bully Hill Winery and would highly recommend making a trip there a priority. If you don't want to eat out, you can always use the fully stocked kitchen to prepare and enjoy your own meals. There wasn't a single thing that we needed that was unable to be found in the supplies.
We can’t wait to come back to "No Such Place" and would suggest others to visit this great spot as well!
