Thank you for the use of this great house. We too loved the back porch and the chance to enjoy without being disturbed. The space was great for 5 people. We would love to come back again. Even enjoyed the train honking in the middle of the night. Made me feel like I was home in Chicago.
We stayed for 6 1/2 weeks in this 2 bedroom/2bath house in Gruene, TX. We were here to see if we wanted to move to this area. The house is in a great location and dogs are allowed. We brought our chocolate lab with us and she enjoyed the large fenced yard.
We did have some issues, but Connie was quick to respond to them.
We have a few suggestions to make an extended stay better. The dishes & silverware should be replaced for 12. We had difficulty having family over for dinner with only 7 dinner plates, 4 lunch plates, & 5 cereal bowls, when the house is supposed to sleep 6. Storage containers for leftovers & more pots & pans are needed. The glasses & cups were an assortment where nothing matched. I bought some needed juice glasses & wine glasses. A laundry basket would be helpful too. No staples were provided. If you plan to cook, you must buy them.
We really enjoyed New Braunfels and Gruene. Staying in this house provided great access to the area.
My husband and I spent the most relaxing weekend at Gruene Acres. The house is very welcoming when you drive up to it. It is cute and very clean with all the comforts of home. It is in a perfect location, close to Gruene and New Braunfels. Connie is available when you need her and will answer all your questions. I highly recommend staying at Gruene Acres. Staying this close to the attractions of the area made our stay so much better. Easy access to practically anything! Gruene Acres was definitely an oasis for us. The porches were a delight to sit on after a fun filled day trip or just some alone time. Quiet, clean and welcoming, the house was everything the kiddoes (17-22) needed. Thanks for the games Connie. The deer crossing at the end of the road was a peaceful sight. Something about deer that puts the world right. Will definitely be back and will recommend to friends.
Great house! Great location! Would definitely stay there again!
Connie's place was great! This house is convenient to the comal, The Guadalupe, Gruene, and the interstate. It's Ticked away and quiet. You might hear a train once in a while but otherwise a very peaceful relaxing stay.
We had 2 parents and 3 kids-ages 18, 15, and 14. We had laundry facilities for washing swimsuits and towels, and plenty of kitchen pots and pans to make breakfast every morning. My husband enjoyed that we were not crowded in a building with lots of other families-it was just our own mess and noise.
The living area is huge, and has Netflix access. We logged into our Netflix account, and watched a movie every evening to relax and settle in for the night.
Gruene is so close-we ate at the fabulous Grist Mill for dinner one night. We also ventured into New Braunfels and ate at a German restaurant.
I went running one morning and enjoyed the quiet neighborhood.
We went to Schlitterbaun, which is so close! We also went tubing down the San Marcos-the Guadalupe and Comal rivers were closed due to all the rain.
All in all, a wonderful place to visit-definitely a home away from home :)

Gruene Hall is right around the corner. Check out their web site at Gruene Hall for a list of who is playing. Besides the nightly entertainment, there are usually live bands during the day on Saturday and Sunday. Gruene Hall is one of our favorites! Also, enjoy dining along the bluffs of the Guadalupe River at the Gristmill and Gruene River Grill. Mozie's is a fun place to watch sporting events. If you want to go downtown, enjoy McAdoo's or Myrons for seafood and steaks. The Dancing Pony is one of our favorite places to shop downtown and Gruene with Envy has great clothes, jewelry and shoes.
