Close to the excitement and action of Cancun and Playa del Carmen, and the majesty of world-famous Mayan archaeological sites, Casita de la Luna is located in Puerto Morelos, a tranquil, Mayan fishing village that supports an international community. Please check out our other casita (listing #51743) located on the same property or if you are two couples or a family who might be interested in renting both.
Casita de La Luna is a two-story small house with all modern conveniences and fabulous views of the ocean from both floors. The downstairs offers a small kitchen, bathroom, and a wonderful screened patio for dining and relaxing. The bedroom/living area has a king-size bed and a peaked roof. It has fans on both levels. One parking space is available in the front of the property. Sleeps 2.
We had everything we needed and Vicky was so nice. Definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to be close to downtown but not in a busy area so that they have plenty of privacy!
My wife and I recently stayed at Casita de La Luna for our anniversary. The casita is a very charming place secluded on the beach as it is. It is a great place to relax away from the crowds. Puerto Morelos is nice little town with lots of great food. Loyd was a very gracious and charming host. We will definitely return!
We loved our visit To casa de la luna. It may be a bit isolated for some but we enjoyed the half hour walk to town. It is only a five minute walk to desire where you can get a cab to town Cabs back are 50 pesos. Cheap! it is a perfect spot otherwise
We had the pleasure of staying at both the Casita de la luna and Casita de las Estrellas during our time in Puerto Morelos. Both properties were very clean and well maintained and the grounds, both garden and beach, were awesome. The two Casitas are in the same compound, but still provide privacy, but also the chance to meet your neighbors! Proximity for all your essentials was excellent and even a trip by taxi to Cancun for New Years was quite reasonable (going at least!). Both Casitas had basic amenities and great atmosphere. We loved the loft bedroom in the first house (de la luna), and the additional space in de Las Estrellas! This Casita was a little small but with the covered patio you had a great area to kick back, without bugs and would provide cover should it rain. We rented a car and had no problem finding the location even in the dark, as the instructions provided were very easy to follow, my only suggestion is a better light at the door, as when arriving in the dark it can be challenging to find the right key...and the keyhole!
Overall we enjoyed our stay and the beautiful beach and thank Joan for her hospitality in welcoming us to her homes!
My husband and I recently stayed at Casita Del La Luna and had an absolutely wonderful time there. This was our first vacation without our kids, now that we are empty nesters, and decided to try something different. Casita Del La Luna is small cottage on the beach away from the hustle and bustle of cities, but yet perfectly located between Cancun and Playa Del Carmen, It shares a private beach with one other larger home on the property, Casita Del La Estrellas, which is also available to rent from the same owner. During the week we were there, the other home was not being rented, which lead to this being a very romantic week for us. This home is small, but had everything we needed. The beach area offers areas of shade or sun, what ever you desire and is private from the public part of the beach thanks to some beautiful landscaping. There is no a/c, but there are plenty of fans and there is always a wonderful breeze off the ocean. Watching the sunrise over coffee and breakfast was a great start to the day. We fell in love with Puerto Morelos, the people and what it has to offer, it is a relaxing 2 km walk down the beach into town with plenty of taxis to drive you back. There are many wonderful places to shop, bars with tropical drinks and restaurants to eat at, including our favorite, La Sirena's. We would highly recommend staying at Casita Del La Luna or the larger neighboring Casita de Las Estrellas (which does have a/c). Thank you Joan and Lloyd for sharing your home with us, it was truly an amazing time. Thanks to Vicki, the property manager, who lives across the street, for her hospitality and lovely smile. Thanks to Jose for surprising us with fresh coconuts to enjoy. We are looking forward to returning soon!!
