Why Lynn Nicholas chose Amsterdam

Listed as a monument home, built in 1735. In one of the most wonderful neighbourhoods of the original Amsterdam Centre. The neighbourhood is known as the Jordaan, please google. This is a true home away from home for travellers, in a wonderful neighbourhood of Amsterdam. I have been renting for 15+ years, reliable, trust worthy and do my best to offer a quality rental.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We stayed in Lynn's place over Queen's Day (biggest holiday of the year) week and had a great time. The apartment was more than big enough for the four of us.

Some points:

--Very clean.

--Very comfortable beds.

--Very quiet at night. I stayed a week and remember only a couple cars on the street. It's so quiet I could hear rider's bike tires on their way down the streets. To be honest, I was often worried that we Americans were the loudest people on the street when we came home at night.

--Big, roomy and comfortable sunroom, living room, dining room and bedrooms.

--Lynn is a very gracious host.

--Two blocks from a great bakery for breakfast.

--Saturday and Monday offer a great open-air market three blocks down for food, sundries and many other items.

Wonderful apartment!

We had a great stay at Lynn's apartment. There was plenty of rooms to stretch out and enjoy ourselves. Convenient location with both bus and trams nearby. Shops and restaurants were handy. Lynn was there to meet us and explain everything. Great stay!

Nice apartment in central location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here a few days over the Thankgsving weekend with 3 children and two adults. Apartment is very nice; location is good; and people who rent it are very friendly. Highly recommended. We even had great weather--highly unusa;l for late November.

Nice and spacious

  • 4 of 5

We were surprised to see how spacious this home is.

Loved the kitchen with a harvest table and great pots and pans. Thank you!

Also, the area was a real plus. Close to the grocery stores and a lovely natural food store.

Bedrooms are large and a new large bathroom between the bedrooms.

Only down fall is the weekend noise on the street side. Bedroom . As there is a pub across the street open pretty late on the weekends.

Landlord was helpful and called us a cab.

Great apartment in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at Lynn's apartment. The neighborhood is a great home base for exploring Amsterdam. It's not as crowded with tourists, yet is a short walk to the main sights. There are several great restaurants within a short walk, and the apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The apartment is really spacious and very charming. I fully recommend this apartment!

Lovely Apartment in a Fantastic Neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

We stayed two weeks in Lynn Nicholas's apartment and loved every minute of it. My husband and I were traveling with our three children in their 20's and we really appreciated the space. There are two bedrooms and a full bath on the second floor. Both bedrooms are quite large and everyone had their own bed. My husband and I stayed in the back bedroom and it was very quiet. The main floor has high ceilings, a large sitting area, an eat in kitchen with large table, a small solarium and a half bath. We had plenty of space for five large bodies! The reviews and descriptions of this home were very accurate. I did not realize until we arrived how fantastic the location is. It is a 4 minute walk from two grocery stores and a 3 minute walk from a full service laundry. One of the grocery stores has a cash machine inside that has very good exchange rates. The first small restaurant was one block away with many, many more within a few minutes walk. At the end of two weeks we were ready to stay another two weeks! Thank you Lynn for sharing your home. A great way to spend two weeks in Amsterdam

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is in a wonderful location for walking through central Amsterdam and is convenient to trams and buses to take you further afield. There are great cafes, bakeries, and other shops nearby, yet it is a quiet apartment, and you have the feeling of living in a real neighborhood. The apartment is very spacious -- all rooms are large, and the living space downstairs is perfect for relaxing, socializing, and cooking meals if you feel like it (the kitchen is very well equipped). Everything is well maintained and very clean. Lynn was quite helpful with instructions, information about the neighborhood, and extras such as calling a taxi for the return trip. The spiral staircase to the upstairs bedrooms is steep, but more manageable than many Amsterdam stairs, and it is very nice having the main living quarters on the street level. My family would love to stay here again, and we would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Amsterdam.

Owner's Response: Thank you for this good review. I just wanted to add that there is a second staircase option, carpeted and not at all steep or spiral. The spiral staircase is in the living room and takes you direct to bedrooms. The other staircase is in the entrance hall to the apartment. Some guests prefer this option. Kind wishes ~ Lynn
