About Doug & Jeanne Lindberg
We have loved the mountains and decided to buy in the Blue Ridge area because of all it has to offer - easy access, shops, hiking, tubing, rafting, antiquing, vineyards and wine tastings, festivals and so much more.
Doug & Jeanne Lindberg purchased this Cabin in 2003
Why Doug & Jeanne Lindberg chose Blue Ridge
We fell in love with the cozy, comfort of this cabin. It is very easy to get to with a four lane highway right up to the turn to go up the mountain. Once you leave the highway it is like being in another world - quiet, peaceful. We have tried to make our cabin a home away from home and provide all the comforts of home.
What makes this Cabin unique
Easy access to the cabin as well as down the driveway to park. Quiet and serene yet close to many activities, shops, local events, etc.

We had a great stay in the cabin! My friend and our daughters go rafting on the Ocoee every year and this was our 6th yr to go. Location was beautiful and very private. Loved the great selection on DVD’s. Cabin had everything we needed and more! Watched several deer off the back deck. Went rafting on our first day, rented a pontoon the second day on Lake Nottely in Blairsville. Every evening walked around the town of Blue Ridge and returned to the cabin and was truly relaxing! I highly recommend the cabin to anyone!! Thank you for such a great place to stay!
I have to commend the cleanliness of the cabin inside! We didn’t have to make it to our liking. Had fun in the game room and enjoyed the movies! We especially liked the clean hot tub. We also liked the location to everything we wanted to enjoy. I gave it a 4 though because we did have to reclaim the porch from debris and 8-legged crawling critters that had well established homes. We also cleaned off the grill side platforms and various other surfaces. I was very disappointed by the garbage (cans and water bottles) the construction crew left and that there wasn’t a screened porch as advertised. (Needed to use a yard fogger for mosquitos) My sister and I enjoyed our stay overall. We affectionately called it glamping. We would love to see what the finished project will look like.
Our apologies Dani for the issues relating to the deck extension. The contractor's father suffered a stroke and he had to abruptly leave the job and is unable to return until August. This is the first we've heard of a mess left as none of the prior renters mentioned. My sincere apologies - We'll let our cleaner know, Apparently the crew also removed one panel of screen while adding the decking and did not replace it before departing. We are glad you enjoyed your stay aside from the construction related issues. Hopefully the job will be completed in the upcoming weeks. A small addition that was to have been completed in May has become somewhat of a big pain in the neck. Many thanks for the head up so we can rectify the items you commented on. Thanks for renting with us.

Quiet, relaxing place to stay
My family and I enjoyed staying at the fishing bear cabin. Thanks for sharing it with us. Quiet and relaxing with nature all around. Saw three bucks in velvet the first day we arrived. My husband was thrilled! Thanks again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin. The inside was well decorated and contained everything we needed and more! The kitchen was very well stocked and grill worked very well! The hot tub was great! The property had an outdoor project going on and is only reason I rated 4 stars. The view from the cabin left a little to be desired but was secluded and peaceful.
Thanks for reviewing Brett - and my sincere apologies for not forewarning you of the deck project. The man adding the deck extension had a family emergency; his father had a stroke and he was unable to finish the job prior to guests booked. He did restore the railing so the deck available is exactly as pictured on the listing site. He will be completing now in August as well as an addition upstairs to add increase the living space. We don't advertise a view because in the summer months the foliage is so dense it obstructs what view we do have- we list as secluded due to that fact. Hope to build up one day to take advantage of the beautiful view out the front!
I'm glad you found most to your liking and should your decide to return to the area - the current building projects will be completed and will add some new spaces to enjoy. Thank you for renting with us at Fishing Bear Cabin.

Nice little cabin.
The cabin was well stocked. The area was quiet. The inside stairs to the lower level were quite steep. The shower on the lower level is on the small side and has a weight limit. The living area upstairs is tight in the kitchen, dining, and living area. There was plenty of room for just me and the husband. We would surely rent the Fishing Bear Cabin again.
Joan..Thanks for the feedback. As you noticed we are expanding the deck out front; it’s partially completed. August we begin a extension of the living area which will allow more living space in the kitchen and dining room as well as the living area. We’re adding an actual additional living room. We’re quite excited about adding this extra room as it will completely change the footprint upstairs. New furnishings will also enhance the renovation. The downstairs Shower floor has been replaced so really doesn’t need a weight restriction; I just neglected to remove that from the description, my apologies. I’m glad you and your husband did enjoy your stay and we welcome you back should you choose to return to the area.
