About Doug & Jeanne Lindberg

We have loved the mountains and decided to buy in the Blue Ridge area because of all it has to offer - easy access, shops, hiking, tubing, rafting, antiquing, vineyards and wine tastings, festivals and so much more.

Doug & Jeanne Lindberg purchased this cabin in 2003

Why Doug & Jeanne Lindberg chose

We fell in love with the cozy, comfort of this cabin. It is very easy to get to with a four lane highway right up to the turn to go up the mountain. Once you leave the highway it is like being in another world - quiet, peaceful.

We have tried to make our cabin a home away from home and provide all the comforts of home.

What makes this cabin unique

Easy access to the cabin as well as down the driveway to park. Quiet and serene yet close to many activities, shops, local events, etc.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Good morning, Jeanne! Thank you SO much for opening your beautiful home to us. Our only complaint was that we could not stay longer to enjoy it! Thank you for permitting us to extend the checkout time on Sunday - the extra 2 hours in the morning were really great. We absolutely loved the cabin, and will definitely stay here again. Once I have more time, I will put together a review for the VRBO site - can't say enough nice things about you and your lovely home! Thanks again. Heather

Very nice cabin and reasonably priced

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed in many cabins and have never been to one decorated as nice as Fishing Bear. It's obvious the owners put a lot of time and effort into it. We loved the cabin and the location. It's close to Blue Ridge, GA and near a beautiful lake. The rental fee is very reasonable.

Awesome, as always!

  • 5 of 5

We love fishing bear cabin, I have been many times to vacation here but this time we took new friends along with us. It is such a cozy atmosphere that you only get being in a cabin on a mountain. The beds were big and very comfortable. The kitchen has newer appliances plus a small dishwasher which is very convenient. The large square dining room table makes eating a family event. The front porches with rocking chairs makes for a great atmosphere to talk and relax. There is so much to do in the Blue Ridge/Ellijay area so we can't wait to come back with new and old friends.

Phenomenal Cabin!!!

  • 5 of 5

We cannot thank Doug and Jeanne enough for opening their beautiful cabin to us! The kitchen is fantastic, and has everything you didn't even know you would need - spices, condiments, aluminum foil - far and away the most well-equipped kitchen of any cabin we have ever rented. The hot tub is awesome - what a perfect way to end a day in the mountains - and we really enjoyed grilling out on the lower deck and sitting on the porches. The location is convenient to Blue Ridge but still feels private and secluded, and the road/drive to the cabin are easy to negotiate in any vehicle. Beds are very comfortable, cabin was very clean, and we loved the bear-themed decor. We will DEFINITELY be returning to Fishing Bear - great cabin for a mountain getaway!

Great cabin - perfect for a weekend in the woods!

  • 5 of 5

Just finished my 3rd trip to Fishing Bear and have more fun each trip. Going to Blue Ridge or Ellijay during the day and then sitting in the hot tub at night listening to nature. Can sit on the front porch in the rocking chairs for hours talking and end the day watching a movie downstairs with their great movie collection. Always like to see how many bear images I can find in the house. Can't wait for my next trip!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the nice review Nick and let us know when you're ready to return. New deck downstairs should be completed in the fall of 2017 - with the pub table and bar stools. A new place to sit and relax! Best, Doug and Jeanne
