We have loved the mountains and decided to buy in the Blue Ridge area because of all it has to offer - easy access, shops, hiking, tubing, rafting, antiquing, vineyards and wine tastings, festivals and so much more.
Doug & Jeanne Lindberg purchased this cabin in 2003
We fell in love with the cozy, comfort of this cabin. It is very easy to get to with a four lane highway right up to the turn to go up the mountain. Once you leave the highway it is like being in another world - quiet, peaceful.
We have tried to make our cabin a home away from home and provide all the comforts of home.
Easy access to the cabin as well as down the driveway to park. Quiet and serene yet close to many activities, shops, local events, etc.

Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful cabin with us. It was perfect and perfect location. Just loved Cherry Log Mountain area too. Loved all your decor, I have lots of bear stuff here at home too and hoping one day maybe will have a cabin of our own to decorate it with. So quiet and peaceful there. We couldn't have asked for anything more and weather was absolutely beautiful too. Thanks again and hope can return soon. Have a great week!!

My bride and I went to Blue Ridge to celebrate her birthday. The process to book the cabin went extremely smooth and easy. The response from the owners great and they made us feel at home throughout the booking. We arrived late at night and the directions took us up a winding road but they were perfect.
This cabin is such fun and located just minutes from downtown Blue Ridge. The owner, Jeanne, is extremely pleasant to deal with. Views are incredible; cabin is the most well-stocked cabin we've ever stayed in (and we've stayed in lots) and it's cozy and decorated with fun bear and Indian decor. My husband and I slept in the king bedroom downstairs and it was like staying in our own little cabin (complete with a coffee maker, microwave and mini-fridge and sink) (adult children were upstairs). Flannel sheets on the beds were a nice touch (and we actually slept each morning until 10:30 am). We used the hot tub one evening and the view of the stars was incredible (no city lights to compete). Gas log fireplace made everything snuggley and one afternoon we sat for hours and just read and chilled. Downstairs is a pool table with a ping pong table top and a vast library of DVD's, VHS's and games.
What a GREAT escape and wonderful way to regroup and start the new year. Thank you Doug and Jeanne for sharing your beautiful Fishing Bear Cabin with us.
Our first time to the North Georgia mountains will not be our last. Fishing Bear Cabin is a perfect location. The privacy of a well stocked beautiful cabin but only a short drive to quaint Blue Ridge, GA with great dining, shopping and friendly people.
Loved the cabin, it had everything you need and then some. Cutest dishwasher Ive ever seen. Loved the mountain and the views, mostly quiet community and generally nice people.
This was a 6 day stay, 3 days with Mom, Dad, daughter and grandson. When Jeanne stated that the cabin was fully equipped, she meant every word. We totally enjoyed the play room, and hot tub. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed and more. The rooms had very comfy beds, and plenty of space to hang clothes and put other clothes away and each led out to decks. The weather was fantastic. My 6 year old grandson and his Papa, went "bear hunting", with sticks, in hand, down the mountain, behind the cabin. Funny watching Papa, being helped back up. Lane would run up, then roll down, to help his papa, then help him back up a little more. We really enjoyed the Gem mining and the Amish shop, that was just up the road. We went into Blue Ridge and walked around. Three Sisters Fudge shop has the creamiest fudge ever. Joe's BBQ had the largest baked potatoes I have ever seen. We didn't do the Train, as to the length of time, but enjoyed the shops. Enjoyed the rest of the afternoon, at the cabin. Day two trip was into Ellijay and around, Amicalola falls were beautiful, Dahlonega was a nice town, with more neat shops, more Gem mining. The girls went to Cartecay Vineyards for some wine testing, this was very special. The Family left and then Chuck and I headed out for a "day of nothing being planned". The first excitement was watching a herd of deer crossing the road and playing, in the woods, as we headed down the mountain, from the cabin. we just took back roads, for the next few days and enjoyed relaxing in the cabin. Jeanne and Doug, your cabin was extremely clean and set up better then any cabin we have ever stayed in. The warm natural feeling, of your decor, was a special touch. We had the most enjoyable vacation and hated to leave. Thanks so much for allowing us to use your home and have a restful and relaxing, much needed vacation. We will be back.
The stay was great friendly neighbors and shops are in both direction of the cabin. Everything from apple picking to hiking we did everyday.
