The camp has been in our family since 1959. We live next door. My wife and I moved to Broadalbin full time when I retired in 2010.
Alan Mendelsohn purchased this house in 1959
The Adirondack Family Camp was wonderful! The camp was cozy and comfortable with all the amenities. The owner checked to see if we had everything we needed and made great suggestions about local restaurants and sightseeing spots. We found his suggestions to be excellent and all within easy driving distances of the camp. The beach area was terrific with a combination of sun/sand and shade/grass. We highly recommend the Adirondack Family Camp: quiet, clean and with pleasant wooded views. You will be quite pleased if you stay here. We were!!!
My family and I loved this cabin in the woods. Centrally located and very close to the lake, our girls, ages 2 and 4 hated to leave. The deck was very large and a great asset for grilling and eating out doors. The only negative aspect, and it wasn't very important, was the lack of air conditioning. Our week of stay included heat wave, so no air conditioning was a bit of a drag, but the owner provided us with fans, which was a big help. I would recommend this rental without hesitation.
This camp is not as it was described, I have been to camps before and this was a lakeside home. The owner Alan was in total communication with me before arrival and upon arrival was very warm and welcoming. The house was very comfortable and not CAMPING at all. It had all the amentaties of home, it was fully equipped and we did not need all of the items we dragged along with us. We had a wonderful relaxing week at the home and the beach. The deck was a great place to sit and eat on and relax. The beach was party central with a fully equipped areas to entertain. Including a nice hammock to allow you to realax and listen to the waves crash on the beach. Althought the lake was low the water was still warm and inviting even in the middle of Sept. The views from the deck and the lake were great. I have to thank Alan and his wife for allowing us to visit them and having a great vacation.
We arrived and were pleasantly surprised by how cute and clean the camp was. The owner was very accommodating; answered all our questions and was accepting of our needs. We have 3 boys under the age of 7 and the use of the paddle boat, canoe, and kayak gave them a variety of things to keep them occupied. The beach was set up perfect and the fire pit was awesome. The lake was clean, clear and great for boating. Very quiet during the week. Overall it was a fantastic vacation!!
We had a wonderful stay at this camp on the Sacandage Lake. It is very close to the village of Broadalbin. The view from the beach at the property is beautiful. The beach is "user friendly" It is sandy and gradual. The camp itself is very functional with a rustic feel. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!
