I stayed here for a day as part of a quiet weekend getaway with my parents and we all loved it. The cottage was well equipped, clean and cozy! Almost everything was in order and we liked how the space was well utilized. Proximity to the lakes was also a plus, although we didn't venture out much because of the cold and snow. The cottage is exactly like how the pictures portray it to be.
JoAnn, the cottage owner, is very friendly and responsive to your questions via emails/texts. I would definitely want to come and stay at this cottage the next time I am in ADK!
My boyfriend and I choose to take a long weekend away in lake Placid and this cottage was more than perfect for our stay! After an eventful day of being tourist, this was the perfect place to come back to to make dinner and relax. JoAnn was a wonderful host and had everything we needed ready for us when we got there! This cottage made me fall in love with tiny house living!
We cannot wait to plan out next weekend away to one of JoAnn's cozy cottages!
We had a great two night stay at the cottage for our anniversary. It is perfectly tucked away in a corner of the property, so it feels private, but without being far from civilization. Everything was spotless and just as pictured. The finishes all felt new and clean while being cozy at the same time. We were able to enjoy breakfast at "home" in the well equipped kitchen, It's an easy drive into town and a great place to be if you want to feel like you are on a quiet retreat. JoAnn was easy to communicate with and checking in and out couldn't have been smoother.
We truly enjoyed the peace and quiet at Riverside! The little log cabin was absolutely wonderful, very comfortable bed and all we needed for cooking meals in each night of our one week stay. We so enjoyed sitting on the screened in porch at the end of a full day of hiking, listening to the quiet! The stars on the clear nights provided an awesome show! The location was perfect for exploring the Adirondacks and the village of Lake Placid while being remote. JoAnn was very accommodating with anything we needed while keeping our privacy. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to this area.
We had an excellent stay at Riverside! The cottage exceeded our expectations. It was neat, clean, very well-kept and nicely equipped (listing / photos were very accurate and give a good sense of the place). For us the location was perfect - felt like it was back in the woods but a very short drive to town. Also a short trip to many High Peaks trails, which we really enjoyed and highly recommend (but do your homework before you go if inexperienced) and the cool little town of Keene.
Great experience with JoAnn, she was easy to work with, good communication, a real pro. And she has a wealth of knowledge about the Lake Placid area.
We wouldn't hesitate to return and strongly recommend Riverside if you're planning an Adirondack adventure!
We loved Riverside Cottage. JoAnn was a wonderful hostess. The cottage was spotless, felt spacious and had everything we could have wished for. The bed was extraordinarily comfortable. We brought breakfast items with us and loved eating breakfast each day on the screened porch. The location was great - private yet only 10 minutes or less from downtown Lake Placid. We savored our lakeside dinner at the Cottage Cafe (try the Brussels sprouts salad! in LP, and also outdoors at Lisa G's. Highly recommend both. Also recommend the Mount Jo hike - tough but short and the views make it all worthwhile! The Olympic Ski Jump was incredible and we also enjoyed watching the freestyle skiers practice, landing in the water. The 2 1/2 mile stroll around Mirror Lake in Lake Placid provided non-strenuous exercise and an opportunity to view some gorgeous lakeside home.
