We brought our kids and grandkids to this wonderful retreat. There were 4 adults and 3 children who all had a blast. It was a little cold but the kids had a blast paddling around in the pond fishing. We took a day trip but everyone wanted to stay home, it was a vacation at the pond they enjoyed the most.
I booked this for some friends and didon't actually stay myself. But I heard nothing but good things. Great location and good rates. Thanks!
We stayed at parkers pond at the end of July. My inlaws live in asheville and this location was very close to them. The yard was beautiful and a great place for our family to come over and BBQ, relax and visit. We traveled with our 2 adult kids, our daughter in law and grandbaby, it was nice to have separate bedrooms and somewhere quiet for the baby to nap. The board games were a nice bonus when it rained. We would definitely stay here again.
Our family of 7 had the best time! We have stayed here before, during the winter, summer was a BLAST. So much fun in the pond, fishing, boating and swimming. I don't know what the last year person had in mind, but everything was great! Kids swam in the pond, went to the hot tub, back and forth - the pond is cold, fresh, spring water. The drinking water is sweet spring water, better than in a bottle, we filled up bottles for our trip home!!
Asheville area is great, lots to do, but we found we had the best time relaxing by a fire, watching fire flies twinkle, and relaxing in the hot tub. It was great because it was easy to empty the water from kids swimming, fill with clean water and flip a switch to heat. That was great, only about 45 minutes from cold to hot. This is our new family destination, pet friendly owners, flexible when we changed dates around, didn't pin us down to a time to leave so very casual. Thank you Parkerspond for our wonderful holiday.
Lauries great, the place was clean n had plenty of amenities including fishing poles, movies, washer n dryer, etc. The pond was the downfall. It had leaches, big snapping turtles, and this green stuff covering the whole thing. I wouldn't let the kids get in the water. Theres a hot tub but the jets don't work so the kids played in it after I shut the heater off. Theres a couple of kids right next door which my kids played with even tho they were younger than mine. The bad side was once you talk to them, they constantly come over knocking on the door asking to play no matter what time it is or how many times you say maybe later. They cute tho. Our friends know the guy n his mom who live just past there and unfortunately we found out why theres traffic at night. Starts about 9pm til 1-3 am. They didnt give me any problems but I would keep an eye on your kids at that time of night. Its on a dead end lil road so very little trafic. Cell reception not very good. The trailer is big and everything worked out well. Trying to make plans to go back to n.c. Again soon.
Comfy, allowed my service animals with no problems. Had to pay for the insurance which was less than a nightly charge for pets at hotels. The pond was full of snapping turtles, kids mutilated 4! The neighbor has two young kids who were knocking on our door every lil bit. The jets on hot tub didnt work so had to be used cold like pool or just sit in hot water. Otherover
