Single storey, three bedroom, 2 bath cottage, sleeps a maximum of 6, including children over 2 years. The cottage is one house back from the bay on a private street in a family, residential neighborhood. It is a short, block and a half walk to the ocean beach. This property is perfect for families with children and/or grandparents or older couples. Central air and ceiling fans throughout. Open floor plan with living, dining (seats 6) and kitchen w/eat at bar. Full kitchen comes complete with dishes/utensils, pots and pans, stove, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator w/ice maker, coffee pot, toaster and laundry room with washer and dryer. Living room has wifi and cable access flat screen TV w/DVD player. Two bedrooms which sleep 1-2 people each (queen bed and 2 twin beds) and a bathroom adjoin this area. A suite containing the family room, a third bedroom which sleeps 1-2 people (queen) with an adjoining bathroom w/shower and a small galley kitchen complete with a bar sink, microwave, under-counter fridge, coffee pot and toaster is on the opposite end of the cottage past the kitchen. The family room also has a flat screen TV w/DVD player. The suite is perfect for grandparents, early morning risers or those family members seeking a bit more privacy away from the rest of the family. Don't need the suite portion of the cottage? The cottage is stocked with a large assortment of good beach reads and a small assortment of DVDs.
Deck with bay views and sunsets comes complete with an outside table and 4 chairs. An adjoining patio with a garden view has a picnic table and a gas grill. There is also an outside shower, a storage shed for beach gear and a clothes line to hang wet beach towels and swim suits. Off-street parking behind the cottage for 3 cars or 2 SUVs. No additional parking available.
We built the cottage as our summer vacation home and later built a second home next door when we became year-round residents, turning the original cottage into a summer rental property.
Rehoboth Bay is an excellent spot for small boat sailing, kayaking and paddleboarding.
Also good for younger children who prefer a calmer body of water to splash and play in.
Everyone had a great time. It was our 8th year coming to stay, how time flies!
We stayed at the cottage over the busy Memorial Day weekend. There was plenty of parking available at the cottage for 3+ cars. We walked everywhere...the the ocean beach, the restaurants and bars, took the trolley to Rehoboth. Perfect set-up to spend the day out and about, come back mid-day and grill on the patio, go out for the evening, and then come back to a quiet retreat to relax and get a good nights sleep. Owner was friendly and attentive.
My family (husband, mom, dad and 92 yr old grandmother) and I stayed here for a long weekend. The place was WONDERFUL! Clean and cozy and had everything we needed - perfect for a beach getaway with the family. The (short) walk to the bay for the sunsets were amazing! The street is quiet and the neighbors were very friendly. The booking process was easy and we'll definitely stay again. So lovely!! Highly recommended!
Description of bay view is a little deceiving. Yes you can see the bay if you walk under the owners house which is on stilts on the bay. The property however was very clean and just about every amenity you could think of. The location is great. Its a very quiet street. The owner was very friendly and helpful. There was a problem with one of the toilets running and the bathtub and owner had plumber come out immediately. I will definitely stay again.
Firstly, the house itself was in good condition and we were pleased with the set up so I will say that.
However, the property is located on the same piece of land as the landlord so you get daily visits from her (86 year old woman) despite the usual 24 hour warning that is the legal requirement. This causes a variety of instances where whatever you are doing doesn't coincide with what the landlord wants. She had a couple complains of the windows were open (the AC was off) we were told to keep the AC on, Strange. We were also told to clean the grill a couple days before we were leaving. We informed her the gas ran out and her response was well you must have left it on all night. (It died while we were using it so this wasn't the case). It was just a bad experience and was thoroughly uncomfortable for all parties involved. Overall the customer service was poor. We didn't have any parties and at most we had 2 additional people in the house at any given time. Apparently this is a problem. So if you are young and not going to bed before 11pm then I suggest you look elsewhere.
To the owners; if you have such a problem with the way people treat your place then don't rent it out; its that simple, no one is ever going to take care of your property as well as you. I have first hand experience, and even when we rented to middle aged families things were missing, broken, dirty, etc. Its just human nature.
I also want to state that when we left we cleaned and nothing was broken so the house was in good order.
Be Forewarned - the owner lives next door to the house and has a distinct lack of respect for the privacy of the renters. She demonstrated Very Poor Customer Service, by purposely taking an aggressive stance in what could have been a simple conversation and turning it into a complete argument. There are other houses in the area to rent for your family's vacation, so please learn from our mistake and chose one of them.

During the season(June 24 - September 2) we rent by the week. If still available less than 10 days prior to occupancy, we will consider renting less than a week.
We require a 50% deposit to reserve your week along with a signed rental agreement. The balance is due 30 days prior to occupancy. If less than 30 days prior to occupancy, amount is due in full.
We prefer to rent to families and mature couples. No student /group rentals.
