This was our first time to the Boston/Salem area and had a great time.
What a unique place to stay. This is a 250 year old home that provides a mix of old and new which makes it the truly unique. Absolutely loved staying here not only because of the uniqueness of the home but the neighborhood (close to everything, easy to get around, felt safe and how well maintained the homes were in the neighborhood). Easy to get around with a lot of the sights within walking distance. We had six adults, a 5 year old and 8 month old and had plenty of room to enjoy this home. Love, Love, loved the back yard.
Marcy was a great host. Communicated quickly to our request. If we ever go back to the Boston/Salem area we would definitely try and stay here again. Thanks Marcy.
My children and I visited from Illinois. We enjoyed staying at this property very much. As vacationers who go from morning until night, we were exhausted every day, and really loved having a home to come back to. This property is clean and well-kept. Everything was in working order. The courtyard is newly landscaped and very pretty. The owner kept in touch with us during our stay to make sure everything was going well. This property is walking-distance to all of the Salem sights. It is also walking distance to the Ferry into Boston (a must do), as well as the Commuter T (goes into the North Station). If we were to travel back this way again, we would return here.
I stayed at this home for 3 nights and it was wonderful! Big enough to accommodate my family of 5 plus my parents. It was very clean and safe for my kids. They had the greatest time checking out all the interesting art and the patio is gorgeous! The house is centrally located and an easy walk to the park and all the touristy things in Salem. The owner even sent me some information on things we could do this weekend. I would absolutely recommend this rental and host! We hope to stay here on our next visit as well!
This was a fantastic choice for a weekend get away with seven women. We wanted a place where we could all stay together rather than be separated by hotel rooms. Also, we wanted to be within walking distance of everything. This house was absolutely perfect and exceeded our expectations. Marcy was wonderful and quick to answer all texts. The house was absolutely beautiful, spotless, and definitely within walking distance to everything. We were able to cook our own meals which took away some of the pressure of having to be anywhere at a certain time. If I ever go to Salem again, which i fully intend to do, I will be reaching out to Marcy again. I can't say enough positive about this house.
Great location, warm inviting home that was clean and enjoyable for our wedding/family gathering. Easy to get to via car and train,
Having a nice kitchen and grill to make family favorites and wedding treats was memory making. Salem has a Farmers Market Thursday's with produce, breads and seafood.
Marcy was a very good communicator and very helpful.
I recently stayed here with four friends, and we all greatly enjoyed our experience. The home was charming in a wonderful location (right off the Salem Common). As the historic district of Salem is relatively small, everything was in walking distance from Winter St. Nonetheless, the parking space provided proves convenient if renting a car–as finding parking in Salem can be somewhat difficult. The house was spacious, providing enough room to comfortably accommodate our group of five. The downstairs kitchen, dining room, and living room were especially lovely, and conducive to gatherings. The house was well furnished with a pleasing style that was both eclectic and charming. The decor was contemporary while simultaneously capturing the timeless appeal of a stately, period home. Perfect for a stay in Salem! Marcy was very helpful and promptly responded to all of our queries via text. I will recommend 12 Winter St. to friends visiting Salem, and hope to return to this property. :-)
